I found this video pretty amusing personally. I'm the guy with the Arcimoto in the background, and you see me passing behind Chris M as you interview him. Chris would continue to give rides to whomever wanted to, after the EVA folks moved on to the next event. This would be my first time sitting in the vehicle but it was such a short ride, and not really much time to take in many details. Still, as an Accelerator it's enough to know I'm buying mine first chance I get. As an added bonus, I had an opportunity to let Chris drive my FUV around the lot as I sat in the back. I think he enjoyed the experience of driving another autocycle saying it was indeed fun and intuitive. Thanks for posting, love the new channel title.

I used to be about 6 feet tall, actually 5' 11 and 1/2 inches but as I age I have lost a little over an inch of height due to age compression of my disks so knowing that Aptera has great headroom and legroom is good news.

A 6'8" and no issue is a huge validation about the claims for the size of the interior. if anything its overkill and i will raise the seats up with simple spacers / longer bolts for a better view.

What blind spot are you referring to?
It has the same visibility as a 2 seater helicopter. Are you confusing the A-pillar with a blind spot?
Google "parallax". The only blind-spot in the Aptera is the normal rear 3/4s blindspot and covered by cameras.

@@vorg_ There is a large band of the windscreen (looks at least a foot wide), forward of the A-pillar, that won't be cleared because the wiper doesn't reach that far to the right- so during blizzards and so forth the driver won't be able to see a large area to the front right. This will be a hazard to pedestrians and poses a risk of collision with traffic approaching from the right.

    • @vorg_

The 600 and 1000 mile variants have taller battery cells which means they have room to move the seats higher. That means they can put a charger under the battery pack of the 250 and 400 mile versions fairly easily.
But I don't think wireless will ever take off for cars. May as well have an underbody connection instead. Wireless just costs too much in heat and inefficiency. I think faster, safer charging via plugging in will always be the preference; at least in my lifetime.

I'm curious how much the motors cost as I'm not a fan of choice of hub motors due to it now becoming a sacrificial part. In a traditional drivetrain the wheel hub bearing and CV axle / stub axle take the bulk of the potential damage our crappy American roads could torture us.
I hope they succeed, but the niche market hasn't had a successful growth in America.. I think their fatal flaw is targeting the wrong country all together where its produced and predominantly sold. Think South of USA border with cheaper labor rates than even China.

Aptera got an empty warehouse, 30 Mill cash, have to pay the bill for batteries, solar, chassis from italy and hub motors from Slovakia. With what money doe they plan to pay the workers? And from what money do they want to survive? While spending 2-4 Mill per month just to exist (SEC). And they still do not have a single production prototype available (since 2019). With what money do they want to pay all the necessary testing?

This event gives the impression that the EVA are somehow endorsing Aptera, I hope that's not true. Most of the financing appears to be provided by small investors that are also reservation holders. I'm not sure how much of the owners capital (if any) is at risk. The cash burn rate is 2-4 million per month and they have 30 million left. I'd say this is an extremely risly investment and not for the faint hearted. Don't get bamboozled by all the tech talk, as an investor you should be looking at the finances - be prepared to lose 100% of your investment on this.

I can’t speak for the EVA, but feel confident in saying they are not endorsing Aptera, but want to support electric vehicles in general.
