    This Perm Press cycle ran like a regular heavy duty cycle . What's the difference between the Perm Press cycle on the TC5 to as opposed to another traditional top loading machine?

    • @Lovemyhomeee
      @Lovemyhomeee  5 месяцев назад +1

      It looked the same to me but the spin is def less harsh on this one (:

      @@Lovemyhomeee I thought the same thing. Along with a slower spin, the wash time was a little short too than usual too. I'm just not accustomed to seeing a Perm Press cycle run like that.

      Same as heavy duty except all spins are at the slow speed.

    Have you thought about getting a direct drive? No computers or electronics to worry about failing. You also get much more versatility with your machine. I had purchased this exact machine then sold it once I realized how amazing direct drives are.

      @@Lovemyhomeee My first choice would be a KitchenAid or TOL Kenmore. Some areas tend to have more than others. Don't get me wrong, the TC5 isn't bad by any means, it just lacks a lot of the cool options, like variable water level control, speed control, a warm rinse, and a true permanent press cycle.

      All Whirlpool/Kenmore direct drive washers built the last 30 years have electronic control boards (FSP part #131944900 for example) behind the control panel. However, they are still a better machine than the modern Speed Queen, and they are extremely simple and inexpensive to repair (at the time of this post). A Kenmore 90 Series washer from the late 1990's or early 2000's is a jewel if you can find one in clean, well-maintained condition. Arguably the best washer ever made, which had no computer boards or electronics, was the Maytag Dependable Care, two belt drive model, with dual agitator design (made between 1996 and 2006). Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006 and stopped making this model.

    Have you washed king sized comforter on this one? I have this for 3 weeks, I’m not sure about putting my king comforter in. I mean it’s not really a thick comforter, but more like a king sized quilt.

    • @EjPwned
      @EjPwned 5 месяцев назад +4

      King size comforter fits. Just slowly wrap it around and let it soak for 30 mins then start a regular cycle with an extra rinse. Cleans my comforter well

      Most of them do this going way back. I have one from early 2000s. It spins counterclockwise while it washes. The clothes do not turn over nearly as well as when the tubs are stationary as they should be.

    So it’s justified to spend $1400 for this washer ? I’m intrigued but it’s a lot of money😩

    • @wyzemann
      @wyzemann 5 месяцев назад +1

      If you hate outrageous repair costs on cheaply made washers throughout their short lifespan, then $1400 may be worth it for a brand proven for over 70 years to be a superior long-term investment.
      Just don't expect to wash a bulky King-sized comforter EFFECTIVELY…that may be Speed Queen’s top loader's biggest/only shortcoming.

      For us it is bc our Samsung washer only lasted us 3 years right when our warranty went up. I spent 1 month watching reviews on RUclips and this tc5 is literally the best! The warranty is way longer than our old washer and the repairs on this after it’s up will totally pay to get it fixed! 😊
