I bought the A6 with Prestige package, innovation package and 20" Sport package 3.0T. Aviator blue with brown leather interior. I have been out there with the best of them, BMW and Benz and beat them every single time. Not even close.
Living in Malaysia, it will change. The A4 is bloody expensive here compared to its counterpart from BMW and Mercedes. I don't think it will change much for the A6. Still, I've seen like less than 10 A6 on the road but the BMW and Mercedes are everywhere on the street. That pretty much says it all. Nonetheless, all three of those are definitely a great car! What this video tells is just their opinion, your experience is what matters in your choice.
i have this new Audi A6 3.0 and it is stunning. the style... the interior design.. the equipment levels is just miles ahead of the 5 Series and E class.. i tested all the models thoroughly and chose the Audi!!!!
Just traded my 2011 520d in for a 2013 3.0 tdi quattro A6 Avant. BMW was/is excellent but Audi just felt a bit more modern and I dreamt of 4WD. Would have been hard to fault a 535d X-drive but we can't get those in the UK. E class is a retiree's car, IMO, though it does look better since the recent facelift.
I love the A6 Avant. It's my workhorse. Dogs in the back, cutting through the mud, I've had no problems. It also does the Yorkshire - Cornwall drive to meet the family very comfortably. I don't care about acceleration times, the MPG is my priority.
these videos really become relevant now seven years later, while looking for a used car. I am thinking Audi. Bmw of this age, I don't know about the reliability. Never saw a brokedown audi, or vw for that matter
If you choose the 2,5 liter or 3,0 inline then it is probably alot more reliable than the a6 and merc. The w212 merc should have the second best and audi at the last spot. I am a bmw guy, but thinking of getting an Audi cause I like all the german cars.
I own an Audi A6 2.0 TFSI since it first came out. I’ve only had one problem so far which was an oil leak but that was expected due to my rough driving, tyres were also a problem but that was all me, driving over nails n stuff. But this A6 has depreciated so much although the performance is a lot better than it’s engine looks. She’s got an in-line 4 turbocharged engine with 211 buff horses and hauling 350 lbs of torque. Which is above average coming out of a 4 cylinder. The diesel TDI gives off 177 horses and 280 lbs of torque which is just enough for a daily driver. Really fun and zippy. Flooring it from zero feels beautiful fyi..
The BMWs 8speed automatic is perfect, with seamless shifting, amazing, and even it is a conventional automatic with a torque converter, it do not use more fuel than the manual version, 520d, and over 50 miles to gallon, amazing for a 1,8 ton car. Make sure you check the radar cruisecontrol on the option list, and the lane assist system, the best improvement on active safety for cars for many years.
Audis are great! just gotta be careful of the carbon deposit in the TSFI engines and ignition problem, which i am experiencing now with my 2008 A6 3.2 Quattro
Yep. It's more luxurious than the others. And since this is a midsize luxury sedan competition (not a midsize sport competition), I say it wins hands down.
I've driven Audis for the past 10 years. I'll never buy another brand. If the Germans think Audi is the best of the 3 brands then they can't be wrong. Keep up the hard work Audi. Audi All the way!!!
BMW has 50/50% weight distrubution between front and rear now, and with traction control and good winter-tires, they are much better on snow and ice than older models, but frontwheel drive is still better on snow and ice. The option list is long, and with lots of expensive toys. The satnavigation on the Audi A6 is obcenely priced, the Plus version costing a whopping 3000£ or more, without more functionality of systems costing 1/3 the price, checking boxes on the option list can be very costly.
E-class is for comfort and luxury and bussnies stuff +30 y/o Audi is the best at performance and FUN !! 3.0 diesel makes almost 9L/100 at 250 km/h consumption BMW 5 is good for fun if you wanna play with the back traction ;)
The quality of the interior is best on the Audi, closely followed by BMW and Mercedes. I think the BMW is the most comfortable of the two, BMW and Audi, that said, the BMW still has the sport feel BMW is known for. I lean to the BMW, even I know Audi is the best car for Norwegian winters.
I love audi a lot. Seriously, maybe it's the top of these 3 brands, but honestly I'm tired of looking so many audi's on the road nowadays. I live in Curacao and it looks like they give these cars away for free
@8150shaf, I was looking at the E350 4-Matic before I leased my A6, and I was let down. It's not as nice as the old E-class. The exterior styling looks like an Accord, which is nice for an Accord owner, but not for someone who expects a Mercedes to be a Mercedes. Also, the E-class depreciates the fastest of the 3 cars, which leads to worse lease rates and incentives. The A6 holds the most value over a 36/39 month time frame(usual lease time). The 350 also felt underpowered(compared to the 2).
But why you didn't took E350 CGI? :) 215KW, 6.3 sec 0-100(officialy and RaceLogic approves it, even was 6.1 few times., fuel consump.: 8.6 liters. When I bought a W212, I looked at A6 and F10, so I didn't found what I want in them, most stupidly is to tell whats BETTER in your opinion, good luck ;)
In terms of sales, I guess BMW is on top only for one reason: they have so many different segments filled which ultimately results in all BMW's being the same. The A1 is a premium car - for it's class. Meaning more so than a Mini, Fiat 500 etc, etc.. Choice? A1 (3dr, 5dr), A3 S3 RS3 (3dr, 5dr, Conv) A4 S4 RS4 (4dr, 5dr, conv, all-road) A5 S5 RS5 (2dr, 5 dr, conv) A6 S6 RS6 (4dr, 5dr) A7 S7 (5dr) A8 S8 (4dr) Q3, Q5, Q7, TT TTS TTRS (2dr, Conv) R8 V8 R8 V10 R8 GT (2dr, Conv). Lots to choose from.
BMW and Audi: Sportier, more modern, more youthful, more involved. Mercedes: Solid cruiser, more conservative & isolated. A cruiser amongst sport sedans. Not a bad thing.
At first when E-Class came out in 2008 - I was like - what??! Then I bought one in 2011 E350 CDI 4matic, it is simply the best car. So reliable. I now have 70,000km on it - but I know it will go over 250k without any problems.
i had a bmw (e39) and now a w212 e class. from my experience, the BMW was more fun to drive but bumpy and unbalanced. My Mercedes has awesome comfort but drives slow :(
@8150shaf I don't want "power" from an AMG model, I just didn't want a slug - which is what the E350 is when compared to the A6 v6 or 535xi. Besides, you can't even get an AMG in awd. If I wanted that much power, there's the M or RS models, which are way better at handling the power they have.
@CalvinS63 Wrong. At least BMW's cheapest model (the 1 Series) starts at about USD29,000 as distinct from Audi's A1 (USD20,000) or Mercedes-Benz A-Class (USD20,000). Deduct them and the advantage will become hopeless for BMW's competitors. The A1 is a direct competitor to Mini but not BMW, and if we follow your logic, we should consider VW Golf as a premium vehicle as well, but it isn't so in real.
"When I go to Germany" agains me who lives in Germany. Open up your eyes and you will see WAY more old people driving Merc's than "rich young ones" Example : Profs at the University I go to : The older ones drive Mercedes the young Prof all drive Porsche BMW Audi etc. Only exception for Merc drivers are foreigners living here :P And my eyesight is very very good btw ;)
I've been thinking about our conversation and I must say, that in the end we are both right . BMW Mercedes and Audi are really great brands . They are totally different between each other but thats the good thing ! Imagine everyone driving the same car THAT would be bullshit ! I think it's very nice to write with someone on the internet without getting the all so known insulting that you can get here nowadays :D You're a cool dude :D
@BabkenBMW,Owning a car doesn't make me biased. Not owning one and falsely claiming crap does. Sales means jack in this world...if it does, all of our cars are getting beaten by a Camry! Also, the A6 was just unveiled, and has had a MUCH shorter delivery time span than that of BMW/Merc. But, I guess you meant to leave out the fact that BMW/Merc/Lexus have been loosing sales to Audi. Also, my facts are based on actual car reviews and test...Car & Driver, CR, MT, etc. They all say the same thing.
@iggibars I admit that the 5 series is extremely elegant, but I also agree that the Audi is simple and elegant. However I like Mercedes the most (Just bringing another side to the argument ;D). I like the E Class because it has elegance in its design and also has a rich feel when you look at it. Whereas the A6 is simplistic, a bit too much for me.
The Audi looks sharper, has a more luxurious cabin and the quattro system is the best in the business. For ride comfort and space and the for prestige, the Merc wins. I have had two BMWs and though they are fabulous cars to drive, they are riddled with faults. They also have the expensive run flat tyres which ruins the ride of the car.
I agent even seen a single review or compare where this new a6 has lost to its other two main rivals. Now I wish I had got this as opposed to my f10 530d!!
@iggibars For Audi there is no RS model available yet. And yes the M5 is faster and better at handling than the AMG. But overall luxury, comfort and everything I will take the E-Class. I also think the design preference comes down to personal likes. However the E-Class is selling the best out of the three.
@dufferego87 3.7?!?!?! no way i cant see a big huge sedan like that getting to 60 in the amount of time an R8 V10 can. Every review i saw was 0-60 4.4 which is still insane for a huge car like that
@CalvinS63 That's why BMW is the clear leader of the premium market in terms of sales. And that is even when Audi considers its USD20,000 A1 a premium one when it's not. So it's Audi which is far behind both in prestige and choice.
@FranklinnBash - i guess you missed the review of each ride.... the only thing the other two cars did better than the Audi was their ride was softer... the Audi did everything else as good and/or better... and it costs less.... that's a win in any book (even if you looked at it cost neutrally.
bmw and mini forgiveness but only share an engine, the 1.6T. audi and volkswagen in share engines and chassis box, the case of golf or passat a3 and a4, is the same!
@CalvinS63 Everything. BMW offers the best combination of comfort, luxury and performance unlike the others as well as the best driving dynamics and handling within its class. And reliability is at the top. Hence BMW's market leadership. Your opinion is just your subjective one. So live with it.
@CalvinS63 That's why BMW's sales are increasing at a rapid rate. Your comment can't even stand criticism. All your Audi can do is to produce a USD20,000 A1 and call that Golf-status vehicle a premium one in order no to lag far behind BMW. But even in that case they do lag behind. So I don't regard a Golf-like brand (Audi) as a real competitor to BMW.
With all respect, nowadays Mercedes is just emerging into younger markets with their trendy A-Class and new marketing techniques. They have always been associated with an older customer base.
@iggibars If you want power buy the AMG. This is a luxury refined car, the E Class is selling better than the other two. The facts speak for themselves.
@CalvinS63 some people do not like to drive a car that looks just like any other Audi. They are good but all look the same plus never forget that you are sitting in a VW.
@CalvinS63 In fact Audi is about 100kg lighter, kid, and that gives it some advantage but not so much to overtake the 535i. And now clarify your last sentence.
That Audi wins I don't quite understand, for they said that the BMW is more confortable but pricier. Should comfort not have its price. why should that make audi win. Audi does own BMW in acceleration due to its lightweight chasis made from aluminum which also lets it stop faster. BMW does have the best, in my oppinion, entertainment system compared to mercedes and Audi. mercedes has gotten a bit old and one should be able to tell. Audi though announced that they were not going to make an S6 wh
@von32897 Audi cannot compare to Mercedes and BMW in sales though. For example in 2011 (Beginning till November) Audi sold 104,906 units in the USA. Whereas BMW sold 221,073 and Mercedes sold 234,473. I'm not saying Audi's are bad, its just the other two are more widespread. Quite understandable for Mercedes because they effectively produced the first modern automobile.
I bought the A6 with Prestige package, innovation package and 20" Sport package 3.0T. Aviator blue with brown leather interior. I have been out there with the best of them, BMW and Benz and beat them every single time. Not even close.
I am a BMW fan and owner (e92 335i), but hands down for new a6, front is just to sexy for this planet.
I agree !

Did you get it?
What about the resale values. Do all brands keep the price equally as high?
@e39black540,
Shows how much you know about the new BMW 5-Series vs. the new A6. The A6 trumps it in nearly every category, including handling!
That's why you see so many more old golfs and A4s driving around than same year BMW and mercs.
i had a bmw (e39) and now a w212 e class. from my experience, the BMW was more fun to drive but bumpy and unbalanced. My Mercedes has awesome comfort but drives slow :(
Then choose Audi, its better
Haha maybe in 2 years when Im due for a change
Feedback: Its better to mention the model year in the title for all of your cars review videos. Thanks.
a cool rendez-vious impression
thanks

Sure I would since the BMW badge is much more prestigious to me.
All the three cars are excellent, the only difference is the individual CHOICE & PREFERENCE.
I never thought I would see the day that Audi is number one....oh well...I want one.
Simplemente el Mercedes es de jefes !

Like all electronics, when the newer, MUCH better ones come along in a couple years, you'll regret you bought it at such an early time.
Oh ok fair enough, obviously they are not only restricted to the more older customers. Young people do drive them as well! What brand do you prefer?

half of the world hands down already

When the battery life is mature, cost is down and buyer numbers are up, these big shots will flood into that market
Mercedes Benz was on top but you cant go higher just go down :( im happy i got a old one built like tanks! :)
Audi = Awesome, unique, delicious, ibelieve
I would definately take the BMW! no doubt

@JoeCaliforniah
i agree with you....
I strongly believe that the E-Class should have been the easy winner in this comparison.

everyone starts to like audi now lol
@dufferego87 I know its a shame. I was pissed when the current RS6 with the V10 twin-turbo didnt make it here....fastest production Audi ever made
With all respect, nowadays Mercedes is just emerging into younger markets with their trendy A-Class and new marketing techniques. They have always been associated with an older customer base.
how mach HP are 200KW?
what yall think about Jaguars?
at this price bracket, you have to buy what emotionally excites.....
you know if mercs and audis are so good, why do they sell less than their same class bimmer rivals?
i totally agree about BMW's interior
@iggibars If you want power buy the AMG. This is a luxury refined car, the E Class is selling better than the other two. The facts speak for themselves.
BMW the sporty power machine ! Benze for Luxurious premium comfortable ride ! Audi the young economic. But BMW stands first for me !!
@CalvinS63 some people do not like to drive a car that looks just like any other Audi. They are good but all look the same plus never forget that you are sitting in a VW.
why did they use the old 350 engine?
omg a Audi as become a drivers car , great job Audi
Audi A6 it is!

BMW love their cars :D !!!
they're all great but i prefer audi
