That's one on the main reasons why I like them soo freakin much. They're very low key. I appreciate this quite a lot. And another reason is that they give a great blend of many things I look for in my car.
The problem for me with the 7 clearly is that you will choose a luxury sedan for maximum comfort and luxury. Being sporty just doesn't seem to fit in there

Before I talk about the cars, I have to state how good this channel is becoming video after video, true passion for automobiles, not just for the business, Mat is an amazing reviewer with solid skills and pretty good taste and knowledge in cars, been here since you guys had like half a million subscribers, now after you hit one million I hope you get the second million in no time. As for the vehicles, those are the three giants, like Mat said the differences are quite subtle, for me the Merc S Class will always be on top, the benchmark for luxury, performance, and mechanical beauty.

You nailed IT with movie chap. I just drove a A8 2019 with all the options in it and I was blown away. It was a 3.0 L turbo a bit slow responsive but anything else was perfect. I am a LEXUS fan for awhile but in the latest models Lexus just can't compete with Audi A8 and A6/7.
S-Class is ahead both, Audi and BMW in terms of styling and interior. Audi, however, is not as behind and are very close (probably drives better than the S class) but BMW has lots of work to do because someone spending that much would not want a car that almost looks like a 3 or 5 series from the inside, drives worse than both its competitors.
Imo they're all pretty close. BMW doesn't really have that much more work to do to catch up, it's just that they used a cheaper model of the 7 series in this video than the equivalent from Audi and Mercedes. It didn't have long wheelbase like the other cars, and no backseat luxury package.
But the same could be said for the S ,E C class they all look the same before you could tell if it was a s or e class but now they all have the same look just look at them side by side .

Coming from someone named "MercedesForLife"... LoL Just like you will always love your Mercedes, because of a good experience with it early on, I will always love my BMWs. Only my love is based on the fact that BMW is more driver focused generally in all models. Having driven the new 7 series, I must say Matt is right, sadly, the 7 series has become a little too soft. But considering that most people buying these sort of cars are only after comfort, it makes sense.... True BMW fans care about the smile that only a BMW can put on your face when going fast through corners.

My opinion is really good video and I respect the decision, I’m happy with the decision. My only complaint is that the A8L and Mercedes-Benz were long wheel based while the BMW was standard sized and no where near as loaded as the Audi or Benz... I believe the benz was probably fully optioned as far as the diesel version of it can go and the Au was highly specked too but the BMW was ...entry level? But I still totally agree w the decision maybe I’m just ranting (again I like your videos) anyone agree w me?

Driving my A7 with exactly the same interior you get very used to the touchscreens and rest your hand on the ‘shelf’ above it to press the buttons so you don’t take your eyes off the road very much. I had A6 prior with rotary wheel. Prefer touch screen. Voice activation and hand writing option, both garbage.

The A8 has shown it can now challenge the Mercedes S class, but the S class is the king of the luxury car. It set the standard for the A8 and 7 series after all.
You can not compare bmw7 short base with Merceder that is long wheel standard. I have 740Ld long wheel and it drives significantly smoother than short wheel base.
Amazing that he spent most of the video saying neither car was as good as the S-class in several critical areas and then didn't select it as the best. All three are great cars with different approaches. The S is easily the most elegant, which to me is what the segment is about. Audi has had excellent interiors for quite some time, but I guess I'll need to ride in it to see how it really compares in regard to ride quality. The S is an amazing rider so if the A8 has surpassed it, I need to experience that. If its true then someone finally dethroned a 5 year old car. Something BMW couldn't do.
I have owned 2014 350D which had rattles and squeaky seats. I then had an S63 AMG Coupe 2016 which also had rattles and creaks. I previously had 3 generations of the 7 series. I currently have the A8 2018 short wheelbase and it is the best car I have ever owned. Not the most expensive but the most rewarding. I think it is built to be a quality product and I love it. My first Audi and don’t think it will be my last. The S Class is all about image but didn’t deliver on interior quality. The Audi delivers but lacks image. I chose the latter.
I 100% disagree with you. It is NOT FACTS. Although it all comes down to personal preference as they are all amazing car brands, Mercedes-Benz is KING. They set the bar ever other luxury car dealer (other than the higher tier ones like Rolls-Royce/Bentley/Maybach) tried to compete with. It has the style, luxury, tech and quality. BMW is AMAZING as well and is VERY good quality and the driving experience is incredible. And Audi is somewhere in between, not as luxurious or stylish as MB nor as high tech, nor as fun to drive as the BMW but Audi has an amazing quality, very luxurious and has a nice drive. MB and BMW are KINGS in their areas MB for luxury, tech, and style & BMW for that fierce drive and product qualities. Audi is the jack-of-all-trades, good at everything master of none, though I won’t lie Audi’s Virtual Cockpit and Navi maps are the best and my personal favorite. But when it comes to the four main sedan segments from best to worst for me it’s: X-Large Sedans 1st is the S-Class, then the 7 Series, then the A8. For Large Sedans it’s: the E-Class, then the A6, then the 5 Series. For Mid-Size Sedans: it’s the BMW 3 Series, then the C-Class, then the A4. And for Small Sedans it’s: the A-Class, then it’s the Audi A3, then the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe (or the 1 Series in Europe). I love the A3 honestly and was going to get one for myself before I saw the new A-Class released in the US. But it’s very very nice. Audi’s great but to me it’s 3rd in the grand scheme, behind BMW, which is behind Mercedes-Benz.

I have a 2020 S class. The noise insulation is so good you can barely hear anything going on outside. I honestly think it's quieter than some recording studios. I think it will be difficult to find quieter cars 🤔. Though I've not had a rolls royce.

Defo true. When u have a $100k to spend on a new saloon. You'll pick the merc, if you don't ur just insane. The badge, the history, the perception of luxury just outshines the audi and bmw. Not saying they are bad cars, but if u got a $100k in ur pocket ur getting the s-class. I live in china. For the class below it's a toss up between the audi a6 and bmw 5,but once u got the bucks you get the s-class

Before I talk about the cars, I have to state how good this channel is becoming video after video, true passion for automobiles, not just for the business, Mat is an amazing reviewer with solid skills and pretty good taste and knowledge in cars, been here since you guys had like half a million subscribers, now after you hit one million I hope you get the second million in no time.
As for the vehicles, those are the three giants, like Mat said the differences are quite subtle, for me the Merc S Class will always be on top, the benchmark for luxury, performance, and mechanical beauty.

The only problem with the Audi A8 is the design, it doesn't look bold & sleek as the S Class.
S-class is the erectile dysfunction of automotive world.
But the 7 series has the most tech. It also has the best back seat the s class has all the options in the back vs the 7 series which is base.
It doesn't need it adui is nice the way it is. . I own a 08 audi a8l quattro it's brilliant

You nailed IT with movie chap. I just drove a A8 2019 with all the options in it and I was blown away. It was a 3.0 L turbo a bit slow responsive but anything else was perfect. I am a LEXUS fan for awhile but in the latest models Lexus just can't compete with Audi A8 and A6/7.

S-Class is ahead both, Audi and BMW in terms of styling and interior. Audi, however, is not as behind and are very close (probably drives better than the S class) but BMW has lots of work to do because someone spending that much would not want a car that almost looks like a 3 or 5 series from the inside, drives worse than both its competitors.
Imo they're all pretty close. BMW doesn't really have that much more work to do to catch up, it's just that they used a cheaper model of the 7 series in this video than the equivalent from Audi and Mercedes. It didn't have long wheelbase like the other cars, and no backseat luxury package.

But a 760li again a AMG S600 and hate to break it to you that BMW will leave it's ass in the past . Just look it up

Just like you will always love your Mercedes, because of a good experience with it early on, I will always love my BMWs. Only my love is based on the fact that BMW is more driver focused generally in all models. Having driven the new 7 series, I must say Matt is right, sadly, the 7 series has become a little too soft. But considering that most people buying these sort of cars are only after comfort, it makes sense.... True BMW fans care about the smile that only a BMW can put on your face when going fast through corners.

My opinion is really good video and I respect the decision, I’m happy with the decision. My only complaint is that the A8L and Mercedes-Benz were long wheel based while the BMW was standard sized and no where near as loaded as the Audi or Benz... I believe the benz was probably fully optioned as far as the diesel version of it can go and the Au was highly specked too but the BMW was ...entry level? But I still totally agree w the decision maybe I’m just ranting (again I like your videos) anyone agree w me?

the audi is way to cold and clinical, not luxury enough. the BMW is good, but I dont know.. It seems like a big 5 series and the S class just seems like an S class.

Driving my A7 with exactly the same interior you get very used to the touchscreens and rest your hand on the ‘shelf’ above it to press the buttons so you don’t take your eyes off the road very much. I had A6 prior with rotary wheel. Prefer touch screen. Voice activation and hand writing option, both garbage.

You can not compare bmw7 short base with Merceder that is long wheel standard. I have 740Ld long wheel and it drives significantly smoother than short wheel base.

Amazing that he spent most of the video saying neither car was as good as the S-class in several critical areas and then didn't select it as the best. All three are great cars with different approaches. The S is easily the most elegant, which to me is what the segment is about. Audi has had excellent interiors for quite some time, but I guess I'll need to ride in it to see how it really compares in regard to ride quality. The S is an amazing rider so if the A8 has surpassed it, I need to experience that. If its true then someone finally dethroned a 5 year old car. Something BMW couldn't do.

I have owned 2014 350D which had rattles and squeaky seats. I then had an S63 AMG Coupe 2016 which also had rattles and creaks. I previously had 3 generations of the 7 series. I currently have the A8 2018 short wheelbase and it is the best car I have ever owned. Not the most expensive but the most rewarding. I think it is built to be a quality product and I love it. My first Audi and don’t think it will be my last. The S Class is all about image but didn’t deliver on interior quality. The Audi delivers but lacks image. I chose the latter.
I would love to see you compare a new Genesis due to the price and the luxury you get with it compared to something like a s class.

I 100% disagree with you. It is NOT FACTS. Although it all comes down to personal preference as they are all amazing car brands, Mercedes-Benz is KING. They set the bar ever other luxury car dealer (other than the higher tier ones like Rolls-Royce/Bentley/Maybach) tried to compete with. It has the style, luxury, tech and quality. BMW is AMAZING as well and is VERY good quality and the driving experience is incredible. And Audi is somewhere in between, not as luxurious or stylish as MB nor as high tech, nor as fun to drive as the BMW but Audi has an amazing quality, very luxurious and has a nice drive. MB and BMW are KINGS in their areas MB for luxury, tech, and style & BMW for that fierce drive and product qualities. Audi is the jack-of-all-trades, good at everything master of none, though I won’t lie Audi’s Virtual Cockpit and Navi maps are the best and my personal favorite. But when it comes to the four main sedan segments from best to worst for me it’s: X-Large Sedans 1st is the S-Class, then the 7 Series, then the A8. For Large Sedans it’s: the E-Class, then the A6, then the 5 Series. For Mid-Size Sedans: it’s the BMW 3 Series, then the C-Class, then the A4. And for Small Sedans it’s: the A-Class, then it’s the Audi A3, then the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe (or the 1 Series in Europe). I love the A3 honestly and was going to get one for myself before I saw the new A-Class released in the US. But it’s very very nice. Audi’s great but to me it’s 3rd in the grand scheme, behind BMW, which is behind Mercedes-Benz.

I have a 2020 S class. The noise insulation is so good you can barely hear anything going on outside. I honestly think it's quieter than some recording studios. I think it will be difficult to find quieter cars 🤔. Though I've not had a rolls royce.
