Gianni as well. A real character. I grew up in the boroughs but knew him since I was a little kid at San Gennaro where he was always singing, good with kids, eating at Puglias. Years later he would come and be the old guy at my club. I could see hating him because he is over the top, but a sweet guy.
Alite reminds me of every older guy/kid I grew up around in Queens. Big talker whose "totally connected" so dont piss him off. The the Bath Ave guys who were in their 20s when i was a kid. "Dont mess with those guys".

In my opinion and watching these videos. John Alite came up with Gotti Jr. Sammy was way older and a and Ran around a whole different group of guys. Way different era. In 1964, Gravano was drafted into the Army and was a cook. His military career was very good and he was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.
Achieving that rank within two years is a signal that they wanted him to stay in. I wonder if he wished he had stayed in the military.
Incidentally I was in the Army myself and from what I am hearing I do not recommend anyone joining at this time, especiallya female.

Be interesting what john alite replies to this. In all fairness ,he doesnt come across great with how much he bigs up his crimimal achievements but at the same time theres some substance to it its not like hes a nobody back in the day. Plus the big thing to keep in mind, alite still lives in nyc in his old neighbourhood. Lot of these guys can never do that, just needs a bit of perspective i think all of it. My favourites are michael and sammy by the way of them all
