This looks good! And let's just appreciate the fact how much effort moving the camera around while cooking takes (and the hours of editing) 😀 Good job! I'm looking forward for more!
Thanks for the recipe. I added 1 cup of sugar instead of 2 since I'm not a huge sweet tooth and substituted the ube for pandan extract. Turned out amazing. Might add more pandan extract next time for a stronger flavour.
I made this and it was so good! I brought it to a party and everyone liked it. And it was easy to make. This will be a recipe I'll make often. I didn't have ube flavoring so I just used coconut and strawberry flavoring and it worked. But I'll have to find ube flavoring sometime and try it
So I made this according to recipe and I didn't really taste the ube! I was so shocked bc the smell was so powerful and very pigmented. But it did taste like a delicious mochi dessert. Wondering if it's because I used a different brand of Ube extract..maybe I'll add more in the next batch I make!
Hey thanks for the recipe I’m making it right now. 1 cup of sugar is 200 grams though. Not sure how you got 2 cups/200 grams I just used a 1 cup dry measuring cup, and then weighed it and it’s 200grams of sugar.
This is quite relaxing… I knew ube due to Lars 😆 And I tried looking for the real ube in every Asian store in my area and the search is like hunting a legendary Pokemon.
Turned out so good. I did one cup of sugar and added extra Ube extract. It was perfect not too sweet. I also put milk cause my batter came out really thick but it didn't affect the recipe at all.
I want to make these but I have real ube instead of extract, should I make an extract with it or can I use the real deal? Genuinely asking, I enjoy baking but baking can be very fickle and I don't want to ruin a perfectly good recipe :)
I ended up making it with the grated ube, its not as dark and the texture is a little different but overall still good, it just messed with the portions a tad
Hey I wouldn't mix it into the batter but I think adding it to the batter before baking would be fine. And I would just add enough to cover the surface area so the amount depends on what size pan you are using
@@MulberryStreet I just followed the recipe without the coconut flakes until after baking but I'll try that next time. It was so yummy btw!! Thanks!! :D
Does the ube extract give enough flavor? I've been dying to make ube butter mochi but majority of the recipes use extract and people say ube extract doesn't give much flavor.
for those looking for an authentic ube to be used as an ingredient. you can look for it at southeast asian countries where it's native particularly the philippines. funfact, ube is a filipino term for that plant.
Made this today and they are delicious! I added a tbsp of ube powder for more flavor and grated cheese for toppings. Thank you for sharing this recipe
Is this chewy? ❤️
So more ube flavor is needed ?
Thanks for sharing your recipe

I will have to try pandan flavor as well 🤤
Was 1 cup of sugar enough sweetness? I’m also not a huge sweet tooth and I like things “not so sweet” if you know what I mean 😅
Love Ube and Mochi!! Just picked up some ube extract now I need the ube jam. Been making reg mochi for years but will try this!! Thx!!
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this recipe. Made this yesterday and it was a hit in our party. Bonus that it's so easy to make.
One is the best recipes ever I’m trying to convert to pumpkin
I'm mesmerized
This is one of the best Ube butter mochi recipes. I used the recipe and my wife loves it ..! 👍
Nice & moist and looks yummy.

Hey! I think it might have to do with the brand of extract as well. I thought the ube flavor really came though for the one I used
@@MulberryStreet can I substitute the sugar with condensed milk?
@@ChibiChidoriChan i think that will change the texture
Thank you so much for the recipe. I've seen people online eating delectable ube things. You bring it to another level. 🙂
Hope you enjoy it!
It’s so easy I try to cook,, thanks
❤❤❤ i love ube
holy crap this is so aesthetic!
Thank you!
Okayyyyy now you just got my attention lol my hungry self was scrolling down my feed and saw “Ube Mochi Brownies” 👀 let’s go!

Well they are in the oven..the batter sure was tasty.

A “shiny” legendary Pokémon, I’m guessing 😅
I've always wondered what ube yam tastes like, as I am a big fan of jewel yams and other sweet potatoes.
Can i substitute the coconut milk with oat milk or whole milk?
Sorry I dont that that would work but you can give us a try and let us know
can i also add ube jam to the recipe if it works? if so, how much should i use?
I wouldn't mix it into the dough. Maybe add it clumps right before baking. Amount up to you
Can i use a 9x13 pan? Adjust the baking time maybe?
should work. as long as you adjust eh baking time
instead of butter can I use oil or margarine to make is dairy free?
Yes
Turned out so good. I did one cup of sugar and added extra Ube extract. It was perfect not too sweet. I also put milk cause my batter came out really thick but it didn't affect the recipe at all.
Can the sugar be substituted with a different sweetener? 2 cups looks a bit much
Yup
Hi there. What is coconut flakes? Is it just the same as desiccated coconut?
Yup!
I see... thank you😊
My favorite sound while baking and cooking is once you crack that egg, the opening of the shell. 💞 Yeah I’m weird.
i’m gonna make this, but i’m gonna split the batter and make one half pandan flavoured :p
Hello! Do you think I can use other forms of fat instead of butter?
hey i think that will change the consistence but you can try it
Hi I am excited to make these, but can the glutinous flour be substituted for tapioca starch or cornstarch if we do not have it?
Unfortunately not the texture will come out different
If I have fresh ube, how do I adjust this recipe? This looks so good
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk sorry. I don't think it would works with fresh ube
I made this twice and idk why my one comes out dense
Hi what size of pan did you used? Thanks for the recipe.
9inches by 9 inches
Hello can I substitute wheat starch for the glutinous flour?
Unfortunately not. The texture will be completely different
Do you think I can use condensed milk in place of the sugar? If so, how much? This looks absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing
Uh unfortunately I don't think that would work. Hope you enjoy
Do you have a recipe with fresh yams?
unfortunately i do not 😢
Hi can I use fresh milk instead of coconut milk?
I don't think so
Is it okay to substitute coconut milk with heavy cream? As I don’t have that on hand?
I don't think that will work

What is the good ube extract brand
I've only tried the one I used in my video. Link in description
This is absolutely stunning! I can’t wait to try this out for myself. Hello from Canada 🇨🇦🌷🌹🌸
Hope you like it!
Hi! Instead of having a mochi texture, can I just use all purpose flour for just a regular ube brownie?
I think the texture will be completely different
This looks so yummy! Can we add coconut flakes to the batter? If so, how much?

9x9 !
Where can I get the ube ?

Does the ube extract give enough flavor? I've been dying to make ube butter mochi but majority of the recipes use extract and people say ube extract doesn't give much flavor.
I thought the flavor was pretty strong with the extract that I used. But you might get different results with other extracts
@@MulberryStreet I'll have to try it out for myself and see. Thank you!
Can I use brown sugar?
Hmmm I feel like the flavor would be different since brown sugar contains molasses
Can I use a stand mixer?
Sure
How many cups of melted butter
1/2
Did I miss something in the video? It was just Ube extract, no real ube at all?
Thx
Can I use salted butter?
Might be too salty? Try it and let us know!
DID YOU POST THIS IN LA FOODIES GROUP???????
Pretty Sure i saw these pictures
Wow, what a nice idea. I've never had ube before, but I like the idea of a mochi brownie. I might try out a macha version. Do you think it would work?
Hey! Yup I actually thought about trying that next. Look forward to seeing it on your channel if you try it out.
@@MulberryStreet I'll do a few test runs and see where it takes me. I hope you make that matcha version!

Yup! Super chewy 😋😋
so no mochiko?
Do you add more ube extract for brighter color? Mine always turns out really dark that it looks like brown/chocolate
No I added what was in the recipes. Maybe it depends on brand of extract used?
Also the video colors are edited

I loved butter mochi as a 👧 kid.
Hey we have the same counter tops 🤺🤣✌️🔥⛽🙏
Lmao 😂
Looks yummy, but the amount of sugar kills me🥴
It should be called Uber colored mochi as no real Ube was put there.
Wish you had set up your required items in advance (Mise en place )
damn sir ur so slow
U right
WTH this isn’t Ube mochi brownies… it’s called Hawaiian Butter Mochi. Don’t be disrespecting our food.
He did state in the intro that this is a twist off the hawaiian butter mochi. So acknowledging the fact does not make him disrespectful ✌️
