So enjoyed this episode, my wife has some mobility issues and to have someone take the time and trouble to highlight areas that maybe accessible was a joy. So many landscape vlogs, understandably mean a trek which for many is completely out of their reach thanks so much again.
Great idea Paul, the chances are that given time we all will become disabled to some degree, sad but true. Glad you mentioned the eye focus, certainly Mark Littlejohn does not mind an out of focus foreground or background, it's about the image, the feeling it gives. There are a few of us who use APS-C cameras who are going no lower than 23mm for Landscape shots, photographing what your eyes can actually see clearly. Love Mrs Cs shot of the boat house.
Great vlog Paul, nice to see a photography video aimed at the less mobile amongst us. Alas you did miss probably the most photogenic easy access view in Snowdonia. There’s a little lay-by about a mile down the road from the viewpoint where your Dutch friend snapped the little bird, heading in the direction of Beddgelert. It has the most glorious view of Lyn Gwynant backed by mountains. If you’re interested for next time let me know and I’ll give you a google map reference 👍
Just started to watch this and three cheers to you Paul, well done. I get fed up watching fit young men, usually, hiking with heavy gear etc, to lovely locations, knowing as an unfit pushing 70 year old, I cannot hope to huff and puff my way to. Big market for such advice I suspect. Also, in April this year I tried to find The Tree. What I did not realise was that it was where I could not walk to because the area where you walk from the car park was under a lot of flood water, so I never found it, so need to return and that’s never a bad thing
I know you deserved that slap :) but I was serious. Check out Brendan Van Son and his girlfriend Jodie Dewberry. They are so entertaining when they work together. By the way when you get the USA West Coast my wife and I will show you beaches and coves like you have never seen before. Plus, we might even make you dinner. @@paulcomptonpdphotography
Great set of videos Paul...As it happens we are off to Llanberis (lone tree) and a few other locations next weekend 22-23rd, its like you made these just for me...lol. Your videos are just perfect for people who are little less able or people like myself who haven't seen any of these awesome spots. I will be taking the crappy weather with me (as always) so if you have anything planned outside of Wales you'll have a great time...haha. I love how you make a photo out of any situation...that's a great talent...keep up the great work!
Great video Paul I wish there were more of this type on RUclips as I have a gammy knee and hip and cannot walk very far and to carry a reasonably heavy bag of gear is painful.
Thankyou I think you are the first one to take the time and trouble to do this... As much as I enjoy watching the vlogs of people walking and getting to the best view points it's not possible for everyone myself included. A lot of my shots are taken by the roadside, usually me shouting stoppppppp at my poor hubby when I have noticed something. The fact that you have listened says a lot about you and Denise of course. That aside another great vlog with the usual stunning shots 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Do not forget to put Denise images up Paul, the image you saw towards the end that she took was beautiful of the boathouse with the dead tree branches in front, From this episode it could be the best image!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! regards, Colin. well done Paul great video.
Great video Paul and some fantastic images will be watching out for the next one and writing down the locations as accessibility is a must for me thank you for sharing 🤓👍
thank you so much for your video im a new subscriber and also Disable with walking problems this is the first video I've come across with Disabled in mind cheers paul
Hi Paul. The Pentax K1 is what I use. Still trying to get to a meet up with you. But like you are doing it needs to be wheelchair friendly for the wife.
Oh no another lonely tree shoot, you are the third RUclipsr that's been here this past few days, and oh no a female called Des! other than that I quite enjoyed all the info you gave out this week, where to park, framing the pic, and the finished result, you made our visitors quite welcome too, well done, if we get anymore visitors to this part of the world, McDons. and Premier log cabins will be here soon..(I hope not) thanks for all the info, very interesting indeed...
Yes I thought it was done a while ago, I still enjoyed the the vlog though! remember the famous lonely tree shot at Ranoch Moor, well that came to a bad end! I hope history don't repeat itself though, and the lonely tree picture in the lavender field it is said the farmer put a massive advertising notice on the tree, which was too big to clone out! best wishes Des.....
Thank you I wish more photographers did this I am a wheelchair user. who would love to take more landscape photos Away from the Island but finding accessible places is not easy. Plus finding loos to. Even if Photographers put it in the foot notes if it is accessible or not would be a great help and if they find disable loos as well.
Keith you don’t know me and you don’t want to know me but Paul Compton and the wonderful Mrs C is sat in my lounge at the moment and if you only you could hear what they’re saying
I came back last Friday from just these locations but could I stop and take pics NO every layby, grass verge farmers gate were full ive never seen so many people Ok you might say get out early but when you are staying in a B &B it is not that easy and it means I will miss the full English breakfast and I do like my food. I will have to try again out of season in the mean time I will enjoy looking at Mrs Cc pics and yours PS Is that another brownie point
Hi Paul. Fantastic idea to a vlog about mobility. has you know mate I'm disabled have been for 14 years. Great that you have put the map location description .
manyyears ago i had a Pentax and i was so happy with it because i could to put the classic lenses ,very good qy uality and very cheap in these moments, now the people learn it and go up the prizes
Excellent work Paul with nice easy locations. Dave Griff has done a similar thing, you should have done a collaboration with him. Looking forward to the next one. I'm thinking of visiting Llyn dinas myself as it's only an hour away for me, so this has given me a good insight to the place. Almost 36 mins and no ad break, had to skip a little bit sorry.
Some lovely images there Paul. I apply the same principal that you use for photo stacking with bracketing. I rarely blend them but use the best (in my openion) image to edit. Regards to your Dutch companions and some nice images there also 👌
I am primarily an events photographer, and love my Fujifilm 50-140 mm lens. You mentioned the need to tighten down the thumb screws that hold the tripod shoe. I also found this to be a problem as they are too easily loosened. An easy solution was to apply a tiny dot of clear nail polish to the threads. DO NOT OVER DO IT. Even if you do, you will still be able to unscrew the turn screws, only it will take a little more effort. This is not like Locktite which would make them almost impossible to unscrew. Mrs. D. is becoming a serious competitor. Maybe it will get to the point where she supplies the photos, and you supply the running commentary with the GoPro and the drone footage?
Yer was not impressed the screws come loose but it’s a nice lens. As for Mrs C she I a great photographer she takes lots of different photos while I am talking haha
Congratulations on this vlog. As a sufferer from ratchety hips I'm having to limit myself a bit more, after a couple of hours walking I'm being overtaken by old ladies in mobility scooters, which is why I don't carry a big heavy pack, nothing to do with age, weight and fitness I'll have you know ;-) The birdy is a juvenile boy chaffinch (sorry, I'm one of those annoying people that have to name things).
InCantabric coast are many places wiiith the holes to put the tripod lengs ,hi,hi,.hi,hi,only it need a signal"focus there to take the hiperfocus",hi,hi,hi,hi
Paul. Hope you don’t mind me asking for a reminder. Can you tell me the name of the tripod leveller you have fitted to your tripod. I remember you discussed it some weeks ago in a video but i cant find it now and would like to look into getting one. Just so i show myself completely up “its the blue one on your tripod” lol. PS. Keep up the fantastic work and I’m afraid i cant join you on facebook as I’m not a prescriber.
I am sorting a web site right now so you will find the kit on there. I’ll have a look at the head again for you and find you a link. I am away at the moment. Please remind me on
