John Denver is massively underrated and is only just being given any recognition. He needs to be up there as one of the greatest songwriters and musicians or our time.
I myself had a massive crush on John Denver I'm 64 years old and I still cry with every song I ever hear Eagles and horses has always been a favorite I was heartbroken the day he died and heard how awful it was I have to hold in my heart God calling home. a choirmaster was needed in heaven
There will never be another John Denver who represented the magic of life with innocence, purity, and sweetness. All aspects of John's persona represent the very best of humanity, and I can almost feel his presence in every flower, blade of grass, and drop of rain. His life has profoundly impacted the world for generations to come. Never has a single human being been so loved on such a global scale, and the world will never be the same. When John passed, Heaven Itself paused, and every angel bowed. Planet Earth grieved, and the entire universe was in morning. Bobby
I'm an early years teacher, and a bit more. Some of us in my profession have a deep interest in schemas - the innate patterns in children's play and exploration that help them to learn. It's not a government mandated curriculum. It's a natural thing. It's been called 'the curriculum within the child'. It is likely to be life long - an enduring facet of personality. One of those patterns is 'trajectory'. It's to do with a fascination with paths of movement: vertical, horizontal, oblique. It can also apply to time: past, present, future. To space travel, deep sea exploration, a human life span, and so much more. I believe John had a very strong trajectory schema. Just listen to Rocky Mountain High, Starwood in Aspen,They Were Flying For Me, Calypso, Wild Montana Skies, Leaving on a Jet Plane, (his sometimes troubled relationship with his father, the manner of his death) and see what you think. I loved him dearly. I like to think he is one with his beloved rocky maintains now.
I met him at the space center one time. I was in the gift shop, heard him singing outside. He was getting ready to perform for the astronauts when they came back. Just him me and my wife. He was real nice. I always liked him from way back. Sad he left us so soone.
I loved him. I still do. When I hear his songs it takes me back to the days when I dated my first love. Bittersweet memories set to the the purest voice this side of heaven.
after a concert in 1975 in the Omni....I was 19 and just learning to play guitar....i met John and thanked him for being a mentor to me. his band was there as was Kris O'Connor and a bunch of people back stage. He was gracious to me. I can not prove this meeting happened, but I am STILL a musician and i miss JD. he reached alot of people. I went to Ukraine (before the war) and played Country Roads for some school children in Odessa...an experience I will NEVER forget. Long live John Denver.
I graduated from high school in 1975 and was a guitar player myself. I used to play a lot of his songs back then. Some of my favorites were Country Roads, Goodbye Again, Annie's Song, Rocky Mountain High, Sunshine on My Shoulders, For Baby, For Bobbie and more. I really miss those days. Those days were much better than these days, in my opinion.
I luv John Denver. I think he was a great singer and musician. he brought so much joy to the world with he's music. he will be sadly missed. may he rest in eternal peace Amen 🙏💐🕊️. from 🇬🇧 an old cockney gal.😄👍👍
Great songwriter and singer. Best concert I've ever attended in the DC area in the '70s. His band took a break but he entertained the entire concert. Outstanding!
Most singers lives lonely lives, always away from family because of their job as musician but their mind very creative never ending ideas and we too benefit from hearing their music. It is really inspiring.
I never stopped loving John when he went 'out of style'. Society became more and more jaded until now it's almost seriously corrupt. John had too much heart and soul for what America became. He was as beautiful as his music.
John was asked once about people who didn't take his music seriously. His response "I think it's insulting to the people who like my music." Class response-he didn't care what idiots thought of his music. I love it and still listen to him.
I grew up listening to John, “Sunshine on my Shoulders” was always playing on the radio in the late 70’s, l memorised all his songs and his was the first album l ever bought, l still have it today. He was one of the most genuine, honest and real people the world has ever known. He was a wonderful activist for many causes, he did much for this world. He achieved so much in his life, he will never be forgotten . Each time I hear one of his songs, l look up at the sky and say, l miss you John…RIP ❤
Great voice, great guitar player. My BFF and I went to see him around 1988 or 1989 when he was in the St Pete area. It was a great venue, not crowded. He refused to sing "Annie's Song". But, he sang all of his other beautiful songs. Never knew the names of the "critics", but sure remember John Denver.
I don't know. I live on the west face of the Rockies and I've met Old-Timers who knew John Denver. The man loved him some alcohol. The man loved him some hard alcohol. I've never met anybody who smoked a joint with John Denver but I've met people who said he loved him some hard alcohol. 🤷🏼
You don’t know what you’re talking about! Those are all John Denver pictures through the years. I followed his career from the very beginning through all the stages, the different haircuts, the different outfits, the different glasses. Be sure your facts before you pop off and say this is Clickbait.
One song that I loved that I don't see mentioned in the comments was, " For Bobbie". John Denver was a great entertainer and to me , his songs reflected so much love and compassion, regardless of what Charlie Rich and a few others thought of his music. My Hubby is seven years older than myself and most of the time it makes a difference. But… when it comes to music it can be an issue. We meet on John Denver!! LOVE HIM❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶
He'd still be here if he and Annie had reconciled. I think after the divorce he spent his remaining years trying to fill the emptiness that was left by Annie. Annie complained that he was always gone, but also refused to be on the road with him. Marriage is about compromise. He never seemed happy after Annie and he split.
I so agree, Jack. "Annie's Song" says it all about how much he loved her & how painful it was to lose her. What other songwriter has, in so few powerful phrases, EVER said so much about love and loss? My heart breaks every time I hear that song. I miss him. ❤
John died in a LongEZ. I built a LongEZ. I totally understand how fumbling with the misplaced fuel valve, behind your shoulder, could lead to loss of control. That is not how Burt Rutan designed it.
One of those photos was NOT JD. It was that guy who insists on imitating him. I was privileged to see JD perform many times. Each concert was pure magic. The stories were fun, the music the best. We lost him way too soon.
There have been a number of music stars who have died in plane crashes but I can't recall another one where the star in question was also at the controls. Too bad the plane was so poorly designed.
John Martin Sommers wrote “Thank God I’m a Country Boy”? Fuel didn’t drain, fuel was low to start with, fuel switch was at the back of the cockpit to make the fuel system external for safety…not enough fuel to start, unfamiliarity with switch location, low altitude…😢

Is not a photo of John Denver at 53 . This is a despicable act by this youtuber to intentionally doctor the picture ( computer graphics ) making John Denver look old and unpleasant but he was looking young , youthful and vibrant as always and at 53 too and we would like to remember him looking like this for eternity. The video is unkind and very cruel and quite devoid of many other facts about the legend, John Denver ! Reply
Yes, faked picture. You can watch an interview done a month before he died. Just search John Denver interview 1997. Denver wasn’t looking “young and vibrant”. He looked like a man in his 50s who used alcohol but didn’t look like the picture.
I didn't watch your ending i always remember jon denver as singer song wrier that was living his life singing songs about what je eas all about in his singing songwriter career i remember him that way no endings
@@romanopinto5172 Yes, tragic, it was a homemade plane, but John loved to fly. His father was a military pilot. Only good thing was he passed doing what he loved. I'm a huge fan of his, and thankful he shared his gift/talent for music with everyone.
The facts surrounding the accident clearly show he was at fault. First, his flying privileges had been revoked due to his DUIs. Second, the aircraft's air worthiness was in doubt because of the fuel tank installation and he was aware of that information. His decision to fly is a problem that many successful people have. They believe that their personal success overrides basic safety considerations. It's called arrogance. I've flown numerous aircraft, from single engine general aviation to high performance jet transports and in doing so have met a variety of pilots. A handful had attitudes like Denver. I avoided any association with those types. I was fortunate to have a basic instructor who believed every flight was serious business.
How sad he must HAVE felt, on that fateful day. I believe he had nobody to care about him.....yet he gave his wives and his family every thing they needed to live a very comfortable life. One must understand, a Musician, " Works " on the Road to gain the freedom for their music. ITS calls "Work" because this is their day & NIGHT Job! @@dwmzmm I saw him with a bunch of other "dead" celebs on a list and then another time a video with a montage of them, and he was on it. I avoided any association with those types. I was fortunate to have a basic instructor who believed every flight was serious business.
Read that his body was in many parts. and missing parts something I never knew .. sad and gruesome
@Terry C. Yes, my reply stated it was an accident. I believe he was offered a chance to fly, and took it, as he loved flying
I stil love him so much. He became so-called outdated when the world became more corrupt. What a sad commentary and what a beautiful soul he was.

RIP MY FRIEND HANNAH
My twin in spirit
Mine, too ❤
How sad he must HAVE felt, on that fateful day. I believe he had nobody to care about him.....yet he gave his wives and his family every thing they needed to live a very comfortable life. One must understand, a Musician, " Works " on the Road to gain the freedom for their music. ITS calls "Work" because this is their day & NIGHT Job! Musicians wives, must understand that the people in their circle , are Family, while Touring, & bringing home money to support their family. I just do not begin to understand why , " wives & fiancee ' do not relate to this aspect of the " JOB, , WORK, OR EARNING A LIVING!!! I miss John Denver, his songs were sweet, as was he ..... 🌲🌳🌿⚘🌻💔❤🌠🕯📰🌋✨🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🕯💔❤
The people that knew him said he was in great spirits on that day. Things were turning around for him.
Badass
Wow he looked older than me on my bio.
I was 60 and now 63
Looking forward to your TRiUMPhant return, John.
I can't help but believe he's still around. We shall learn soon...
@@dwmzmm I saw him with a bunch of other "dead" celebs on a list and then another time a video with a montage of them, and he was on it. There are around 900 in all who went into hiding or underground, and we will find out why. I can name a few here: Freddie, Michael, Diana, JFK Jr, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline.
@@firetopman When you find out (soon) what's really been happening to all these missing children and what goes on in the dark "underworld" that many brush off as "conspiracy theories," those you just named (along with the many unnamed) didn't want to be a part of the "dark crowd." And I couldn't blame them for going into hiding. The truth will be shocking and heartbreaking to most once they're revealed.
@@dwmzmm I'm aware, and I haven't slept well in years. For those who refuse to listen, maybe a dead celeb will get through to them.
@@firetopman Everyone knows that Michael and Elvis hang with the Reptile People under Denver's Airport....scheesh, where have you been?!
