What a talented man John was. When he died in the plane crash, the world lost not lost not only an singer and entertainer, but also a man who was ahead of his time in caring about the environment. John cared about animals, nature and the earth whether it was on land or life forms in the oceans. He was out to help protect it. When John died, it was a major loss to the world. Rest in peace John Denver.
indeed. i miss him so much, and would have loved to have seen what he could do the rest of his life. I saw him in concert in an outdoor amphitheater in California in 1984. He was somewhat sad, as he shared about his divorce from Annie. I was surprised he could get through singing Annie's Song. I'll never forget that concert. What a beautiful man.
This man is largely responsible for my love of philosophical words and whom I feel a kindred spirit with. I first listened to him in the late 70s and absorbed ever word and nuance from his songs. He captured the space that exists between our heart and mind which is called our soul, put a melody to it and created his own unique form of music that is loved the world over.
His success came at a price. Seemed like such a gentle man. What a great talent I loved his music from the get go when I first heard him. Saw him in concert at Red Rocks Colorado, and at the Valley Forge Music fair in 96. My wife and I were in Carmel Cal at the Hogs Breath Restaurant having an early dinner when word came down that John Denver was just killed after his experimental aircraft crashed into the bay. RIP John your music still lives into 2024 and will live longer as I have my children and grand kids enjoying it. Your legacy lives on.
In this performance his voice matches the cello perfectly! Few performers could ever execute so simplistically such an astounding piece of music! Just brilliantly written & performed! Thank you ever, JD. At 83, your music has sung me thru my life!

@@annasteffiesolenick9732 Well, according to his book, he "had to". Throughout the book, he comes up with various explanations for his behavior. After sheepishly admitting that there had been "innocent amours" before, he cited the emptiness of a hotel suite after a concert as a reason for indulging his "romantic inclinations". The next time, it was because he had been seduced, by Jerry Weintraub's secretary, for example. This was our wedding song in 2003. This arrangement and performance is remarkable - I loved how his voice matured. So sad I never got to see him in person. His music and soul are needed today.
John Denver was so underrated. I think he had one of the greatest Voice next to Elvis Presley. John Denver has such a great voice and he was so unique. Very hard to find nowadays
I beg to differ; I believe John's voice was better than Elvis'. He has a greater range and uses it. I always felt that Elvis was holding back when he sung. He had a bigger voice than he usually showed.

What can one say absolutely brilliant his music will live on with in us and to share.
Stunning . What a loss.
He was so talented, a true moral human being. He is greatly missed.

Best concert I have ever been to
Everyday i listen to his songs, he's my favorite until now!
Me too! I will never stop listening to his music. ❤
I really miss him. I forgot that he also plays piano. The 1st concert I went to was John Denver and it was lovely. In Seattle in 1974

I saw John four times in England and each time was spellbound by his pure, pitch perfect voice. He was always so very humble and appreciative of his audience. A brilliant accomplished guitarist, songwriter and thoroughly lovely guy! Love and miss his enormous talent so much!
He was one of my favorites singers. Jst found out last nite frm RUclips. Thank you.
Soooooo wish I'd managed to see him perform live. He was my mum's favourite singer and absolutely one of mine. His songs never fail to move me.

Not many dry eyes when I saw him perform this live in Dec. 1996 in Fort Wayne, IN. In my opinion, the best love song out there.
Seranade by his song " For You" was a teary eyed feeling 👍.
I was a huge fan. His voice so unique. That vibrato. Omg!! I had never heard this song nor saw him play piano. Beautiful. I hope his music is never forgotten
Loved this man!! Miss you SO much.😢❤❤. The world was just a much better place with him in it.

Was für ein Talent! Dass er nicht mehr ist, bedeutet für die Musikszene einen großen Verlust.
John Denver was so much more then a Folk Singer or a Country Artist. He was a true entertainer that made us feel his words deeply. Gone too soon.
Johns songs are so heart felt and full of so much meaning between two people
He did like to call himself a 'western singer'

This year is our 53rd anniversary. I'm listening to this song, and it seems I have something in my eye. Not really crying.
Touching, a man who knew true love
John Denver has alway been my number one since the first time I heard him sing many, many years ago. I love his style and voice and the way he interacts with his guests. I pray he made his peace with God before he passed.
This was our wedding song in 2003. This arrangement and performance is remarkable - I loved how his voice matured. So sad I never got to see him in person. His music and soul are needed today.
The range of topics cover, kindness and care moreover the compassion I Agee with you 120%❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
John Denver was so underrated.
Saw him perform live @ our local university. True gifted talent. We fell in love with each other…to his songs.

Very nearly February 2024…..and still listening regularly to JD…..absolutely brilliant and always enclosed in my heart ❤
John no longer with us, but your sweet and forceful melodious voice and song will last till world death.Your eternal and heavenly voice always charms and makes everyone happy. You are not with us now but your songs prevail whenever I go,never forgotten. If plane crashed not happened you will give so many songs that surely more than 1000.Sleep well John in heaven, we are all with you through listening your melodic songs.
For me, this is not only the greatest love song ever written, it's on the short list for greatest song of all time. His performance here is effectively spare--almost shockingly stark--and achingly beautiful. It is one of the most deeply felt performances I have ever seen and never fails to be extremely moving.
Agree. What a beautiful song this is.
My 50th Anniversary is 12/16. I have wanted to sing FOR YOU to my bride for many years. I thank God I’ll be able to do it like JD. I love your tribute. Thank you. GMV
Amazing,pulls on my heart strings...x
