Farmers around here in Missouri, they go to the local fire departments and buy their old hoses. Split the hose and wrap around the rubber hoses on the tractors. Should check the rub spots every year for wear on the hose and implement. If the implement starts wearing, weld a flat stock piece, so the hose wears on the flat stock. I remember the trailers with two axels and one rotates. Absolutely hated them. But once you learn to back them up, you can do it fairly quickly.

A roladex, wow, i remember having one of those, at 51, you think about all the ways you did stuff before computer's. I think mailing letters was big many year's back, because long distance phone calls were expensive. I was the remote control for my parent's tv, and that got to be kinda annoying when my siblings and i had our bedrooms upstairs. Being the oldest, meant doing more child labor tasks lol, but it made me tougher, as well as a hard worker. You guy's make a great team, and Brody fits in perfect with the younger fellas. God bless, pray your crops do well this year, and pray you get them all in.

One time I was riding in a gravity box as a kid behind a corn picker. And the pin bounced out going down the road about 20 miles per hour. The gravity box started to pass the corn picker, and my dad never noticed. I dropped down inside the gravity box and prepared for impact. The gravity tongue dug deep into the side of the road in a ditch. I was ok, but my dad never noticed the gravity box was gone till he came to a stop sign. He had to drive a 1/2 mile back to hook back up.

Check with your local volunteer fire department to see if they have any used firehose . Usually there firehoses have a expiration date. They make great covering to protect hydraulic hoses. Usually give a donation and they will keep you in mind the next they have some to get rid of.

I used to make hydraulic hoses for a farmer I worked for. here's a hint for you guys. NEVER get rid of bad larger hydraulic hose...or get them from a dealer. When you make a new hose cut a piece of old larger hose slide it over new hose as a wear cover sleeve. These hose sleeves never wear through and protect the working hoses underneath.

Takes a lot to back them. I really did not mind, just have to take your time.
Hydraulic hoses. Oh boy, hard to keep them from rubbing and then a leak. Nice if you can put something over them to protect them. I saw a guy once that got old out of date fire hoses and used them to protect the hoses. Good idea.

Black turtle and other colored beans are fussy to make a good grade for processing. Augers are a no no. Augers make splits and cracked skins. If you put them in your big legs, make sure you clean the boots(bottom of the leg) and any flat drag chain conveyors. Please clean legs with a shop vac. Some people say just flush the leg with wheat and it will clean it enough. WRONG. Hope you have good luck with the colored beans.
