Wow, awesome to see you all together just being family. Last time I saw Stone was on Chet's video when he was stuck and understandably in happy about it. It was so enjoyable to see him smiling and everybody enjoying the regular Larson banter. It's a real blessing for those of us who have little opportunity to have that kind of family time these days. It really can't be put into words. Thanks to all of you for sharing your lives so openly.

I’ve been a farmtuber addict for many years. Got my husband hooked, now he’s gone back at least a year catching up. He’s having some medical issues doctors can’t figure out, Dougo makes him laugh, laughter is the best medicine! We love our family farmers.

Congrats on such a beautiful family! Okay Dougo! There has been a lot of videos of all the new toys the farm has gotten this past year! I believe it’s time to take care of the most “important” person in every family, the wife, mother, best friend, Gods replacement on earth…. Get her a sod lawn! You got a endless supply of water from the lake that will keep the lawn lush and green for those peaceful, refreshing barefoot walks! 😊
My whole family rides. When the kids were little, I taught them how to ride and we all still do. Just taught my 4 year old grandson how to ride his bike. He is adorable, so little and pedaling so fast, can’t get off of it now. He has a Honda xr50 and by the end of this Summer he will be rocking it. Everyone loves riding ! I have my own motorcycle club ! Hahahahahaha 😂 !

This was terrific. I’m from Audubon, New Jersey and I follow Larson Farms. Happily married with four children and eight grandchildren and I am retired from the printing industry. So I find both channels entertaining and educational.❤

I don't know about there but in Oregon dogs get fish poisoning if they eat fish. Especially salmon. Throwing up and bloody diarrhea. Really bad and usually have to go to the vet

Well Amy you're fitting in a new member into the family I think she's great. Im sure she's somewhat nervous but being a college graduate and professional she's going to just be fine glad your bringing her along.
Jean, I own a pet sitting business. For the past 2 summers, dogs have been getting a pretty bad bacterial GI infection from being exposed to infected “waste”. It spreads just like worms, they only have to be close enough to smell it. I don’t take client dogs to dog parks in the summer bc of it. Carry Lysol for my shoes between house visits/dog walks. I’m assuming the Vet put them on Tylan/Flagyl & a bland diet. Rice, chicken & broth only small feedings a few times a day for 3 days to bulk their gut up. I feel sorry for ya. Had to clean up my fair share of rear end explosions in the past 10 years.
The plants in the lake need sunlight to produce oxygen. If there’s too much snow for too long, the plants die off, don’t produce oxygen and the fish don’t have any oxygen to live.
Rotten vegetation reduces oxygen as well
No winter kill on my lake, but some lakes like Tamerack lake had 100% winter kill.

Amy, you have a beautiful family and awesome home. All that rockwork on the home and the property is impressive. So glad your daughter didn't get hurt too badly. It was nice to see everyone. I saw that you had snow late in the season and it was pretty, but it would have driven me nuts. We don't get hardly any snow in my part of NC and this year none. So I have not heard of fish dying due to the issues you are referring to. Interesting. I live close to our Smoky Mountains but we are in full almost summer mode. All my tomato plants are in bloom and the little tommy toes are putting out fruit. I did laugh when Dougo said the dogs were in diuretic mode. Too funny. Thanks for inviting us to see you all today. Amy, what a fun video, How Awesome to see the whole family. I have not saw your boys together in a video for more than a few minutes getting Stone unstuck out in your driveway. Hoping you get your lawn done soon you guys have a Beautiful place. I feel your pain having those nasty carp all over they are THE WORST smelling dead fish around next to suckers you don't ever forget that smell. When Dougo showed the dead carp on your Mothers Day video I didn't see any other kinds of fish but, carp. The carp usually can handle low oxygen levels, which is what happens when the sun is blocked from the snow and ice in winter making plant life die underwater which the fish need to eat and get their oxygen from, once the plants start to die as they die they are using up the oxygen for the fish. I grew up in a small town Garrison MN so I had Lake Mille Lacs I grew up on. Dead fish always and we lived across the highway from Mille Lacs and you could smell dead fish from a distance. Did you guys or anyone of your neighbors report the carp to the DNR? They would be quite interested to know of all the carp dead as I said unusual for them to die But, they also could be diseased too. I would let DNR know or Fish and Wildlife as they would be called. They keep track of those things. Food for thought. I'm sure everyone around your lake had been clearing out the carp off their shores already.

I agree, I've never heard of sunlight giving the water oxygen. I have 7 aquariums and I run an air pump on all of them to break the surface tension and that is where the exchange happens. You can get the same results with standard water pumps pointed at the surface. Anyways I really enjoyed this video and you have an amazing family.. The light(sun or otherwise) is for the plants. It kicks of photosynthesis that produces net 02 at night aquatic plants are net consumers of 02. Search on diurnal 02 cycle. You don't see this on land because there is thousand of feet of oxygenated air above the land surface and 02 moves/mixes well in air. In water not so much, so if you cut off light and don't use aeration to mix in atmospheric air then the plants and other organisms use up the 02 and voila dead fish. My farming experience involved spending nights keeping millions of pounds of catfish alive by applying aeration where needed given equipment constraints. You would smell your failures. Made the possums happy though.

Sorry Jean Marie about your introduction to the Artichoke Lake shoreline outcroppings! Now you know how rough it was for Stone and Chet growing up with nothing but rocks to play with...lol...Good to see the planning stages for the upcoming festivities. Amy...don't give up on finding an expert lawnscaper...though you might have to import one from Alexandria or Watertown for this "special occasion"! Good to see ya'll...and bee safer!

In regard to how the sun effects the lake, the sun does not put oxygen into the air, but, the sun penetrates through the ice affecting the plant life below the surface which in turn produces the oxygen in the water that fish extract with their gills. A snow covered lake, especially a shallow body of water. I'm sure if you google it, you can find a better explanation.

Side note: I’m sure you have this in your area too, but in the Midwest if you have dogs that spend a lot of time in or lakes, ponds, steams etc. They can get what is called Leptospira. You may want to ask your vet about it if you haven’t already. Especially with all the dead fish in the area other animals that carry the bacteria are more likely to be around this putting your pups at risk. I hope your sweet fur babies feel better soon!
