You can tell dougo was locked down for to long, because he was animated today. Thinking about amy, i can picture her smiling that she has some time to herself lol. G-d bless everyone.
Love Doug's description of the old quad's condition for it been beat and abused to how great and well taken care of when he found out Chet has to sell the old unit. I laughed my a$$ off.
Instead of ripping up the driveway, get a couple rolls of "combi-grid" geotextile and roll that over the existing driveway. The spread 6-8 inches of gravel over the top of it. It'll allow drainage and add more then enough strength to the roadway. We recommend the material all the time when constructing roads over undesirable base materials.
My wife is a PT or Physical Therapist. She once had a pilot come into her clinic. He flew for a major airline in Canada. The first thing that she told him was that he was using his cane in the wrong hand. . . . well, he only came once. The fellow could not be told anything. . . . and my wife owned the clinic. I asked about Dougo using his crutch. Yes, he is using it correctly. His elbow should be bent a little bit when using the crutch. 😊 . . . and on the proper side. WOW ! He is doing everything right. . . . and don't fall on the ice.
I feel you pain Dougo. 30 some years ago, I tore my right knee meniscus, while working on job sight in Minneapolis. Since then I have had both knees replaced, the most recent last September. I must say I have very a good doctor and the best Physical Therapist. The best advice I can give you is to continue therapy as long as possible, then some more.
PT here and u need the crutch on your good side so when u are moving your good leg and all your weight is on the bad leg you have an extra point of contact on the ground to help keep your balance
Feel for you Dougo. I started with a meniscus repair. 2 years later, I got a new knee! I would love to tell you both were a breeze..They weren’t. Those that know…well, ya know! (Quote from my favorite source)
I also had meniscus surgery. First on one leg then the other about two years later. Both were arthroscopic so they put three holes in for their instruments. Then about ten years later I had the knees replaced one at a time. I had the first meniscus surgery on a Friday and went back to work the following Monday. The first knee replacement was a little rougher because they used the replacement that was set into the bones but I never had a brace on it. They wanted it flexed as much as possible. Immediately after surgery they had my leg hooked to a machine that kept it moving The second knee replacement they just cut the ends of the bones flat and glued the new joint on.
I might as well jump in on the knee repair thread. Had a pizza slice taken out of a meniscus I think on a thursday. was planning on being back at work doing administrative stuff the following week. Not a chance - laid in bed with an ice pack on it, got up every few hours to hobble around, take some pain meds and back to bed, for a damn week. Glad i did it as it has been 7 or so years now and still feels great. Before the surgery I finally just got fed up with the pain and non working knee.
Dougo, I feel your pain. Had my right knee replaced 5 months ago and go in Monday the 24th to have the left knee replaced. Hope you are feeling better now. Chet, I love the new side by side. Let her rip !!!
Great video chet and dougo listening to dougo just put a smile on my face his awesome wishing him a speed recovery GodBless Best wishes from Ireland 🇨🇮
Dougo is getting around very well. I hope his recovery will be complete. The new side-by-side is a great addition to the equipment you will be using this year.
I think Brian Brown from Brown Family Farms has a very similar seed tender, he absolutely loves the remote and especially the scale function too. Hope Dougo heals quick and is ready for the Spring onslaught following the big thaw.
I wish my dad and I could of had a great relationship together, but back then time were hard behind a team of mules and not much time or feeling like laughing , anyway guys another great video, keep them coming!👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hey Dougo! Glad to see that your back. Now take it easy and don't overdo it too cause any relapses! Chet keeping putting out these great videos! God Bless the entire Larson Family & the Big Swede.
I had meniscus surgery twelve years ago and now have arthritis in that knee and am looking at knee replacement in my future. Listen to your physical therapists and don’t overdo things and you’ll be fine. The crutches are great for helping to instill respect in unruly adult sons and farm hands, lol. You guys are so entertaining but it’s easy to see the respect and affection there.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Like your new Polaris side by side. Lucky you found one at a dealer. Looks like a nice one. Enjoy. Going on the road with Dougo and his bad Knee was a good one. He had me laughing all the way there and back. What a trip that was. And now you have a tire ruined from driving at the junk yard. Oh my. The seed tender you got looks like a nice one. I am anxious to see this new trailer built for the spray trailer. Should be nice when done. Thanks for the funny funny video hauling around you two with Dougo and his bad knee. Oh my. Thanks for everything Chet. Take care of your dad. The Iowa Farm Boy.
Chet and Doug, Thanks for taking us along on your road trip! Take care of that knee Doug! Chet, have fun in your new side by side! Until your next video ~~~Stay safe, healthy and happy!
Hope dougoo is healing well. And Doug that duramax y’all were hauling the seed tender with that made the hissing noise. That’s the waste gate dumping. Totally normal!!
Doug I've been in your shoes 3 times. 1 meniscus tear & both knees replaced. It was the best thing I have done ( kneee replacement). Good luck Doug. At least Chet keeps you laughing
Dad glad to see you're up and around knees are no joke I've been dealing with them for the last year-and-a-half and finally going in June to get one replace three months later the next. I'm 65 now still working. But respect the pain that you went through prior to and that you're up and at it again happy to see. Keep it going there old man keep it going
really awesome video. Really enjoyed seeing Doug. I didnt know he was having his knee worked on. So glad he is doing better. Love you guys and thank you
Wishing Dougo a speedy recovery. Don't let the Big Swede near your new side by side of else Brodie will never get anything else done, apart from washing it!
I feel your pain Mr larson, just had complete knee replacement March 8.they say robot assistance will be great ,quicker recovery. And here I sit going backwards! Good luck with your recovery. 😢
Had my first knee surgery at 15, At 60 years old have had both knees, both Shoulders and Right Ankle! Oh right fore finger knuckle all total Replacements!! Dougo your on better path !
Dougo needs an ice cleat for the end of his crutch. It is a metal spike; you can fold the cleat down when you are outside and fold it up for the transition to the house. I spent a winter in Vermont on crutches, and the ice cleat is a game changer. Feel better.
I’m so glad you and your dad has such a good relationship. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. Whatever used to Doug has got a excellent personality. I think it out to be a standup comedian but you guys be safe out there on that farm. Enjoy that new side-by-side, the godly redneck will be safe and may God bless.
Brother I had a meniscus transplant a few years ago and my body rejected it after a few months and the pain was ridiculous. I thought I was good to go and then BAM! Worse than ever. They ended up removing all of it so nowadays I don’t have a meniscus at all in my right knee and I feel better without anything there then with one. I can still go for runs now with the kids.
Well Dougo I severed my ACL and MCL and couldn’t put weight on it for 8 weeks then the Brace for 12 weeks because the Patella Graft! And now without Meniscus I can’trun or kneeling!
I was a heavy Equipment mechanic I had a industrial accident ripped my knee in half and broke my back all at once, haha. The did surgery after surgery finally replaced my knee totally and what a change once they mess with the meniscus ITs bone on bone, and there's nothing but issues im only 53 they totalled me I enjoy the videos keep up the good job
I can feel Dougos pain. I tore both meniscus’s a few years ago from playing football. I had surgery done on both knees. Unfortunately only one of the surgeries worked well cuz I still have knee problems. Tell Dougo that it gets better from here.
I had the same surgery on my right knee back in 93. I was off work for 4 months, with no weight on the leg. Then, two months of pt. Then I had to have surgery on the same knee back in 2002. I was only off work for two weeks for the same surgery, but different Dr. Prayers for a speedy recovery for Dougo.
What ever you do! DO NOT get rid of the crutches, No matter what Amy says! If you do, you'll need another pair! 🤥 They dont take up much room. Blessings on you!
Very glad to see you are doing well with your knee surgery Dougo, as the saying goes....Can't keep a good man down 👍. Good purchase on the new side-by-side though it seems the other one was a good purchase as well, but if it were me, I'd have a little "talk" to certain people as to how better take care of MY equipment. Farming is a profession and life is about doing what you love and should be fun but when things start getting abused and tore up costing money to have nice things, in my book, it's time for the foot to come down and the boot to come out.........🤔. You guys have made many upgrades over the past year to your operation , hopefully they all pay off for this season so we out here in web-land have many more interesting videos to follow you with. As always, in my book, this is the very best all around farming youtube channel out there. Thank you all.
Chet, my father is going on for surgery next week (we’re strawberry farmers in the Netherlands) and I have a great relationship with him by the way. I’m just wanting to tell you keep doing what you do with your father and grandfather my guy CHERISH these moments it’s so awesome and wholesome to watch!!! Loving these moments with your father
I can relate with dougo. I remember my grandfather retiring in the 80s . The prize tractor was the 4440. After retiring the junkie 4430. Merlin is my father's age.
Watching Chet & Doug drive home reminds me of my Dad & my many trips to work and his home. Great times. RIP Jim Finley. I love you Dad.
Chet you are so blessed to be able to have your dad to go with you, treasure every day that you can do things together.
You can tell dougo was locked down for to long, because he was animated today. Thinking about amy, i can picture her smiling that she has some time to herself lol. G-d bless everyone.
Is there a reason you didn’t just write God?
Love Doug's description of the old quad's condition for it been beat and abused to how great and well taken care of when he found out Chet has to sell the old unit. I laughed my a$$ off.
Dougo just cracks me up. He's a national treasure and must be preserved!
Dougo is a national treasure! He should be protected at all cost!🤣🤣🤣
Great video. Doug I was great.
Prayers for Dougo to heal quickly, can't wait to watch the process of putting that all together

I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I pray for Dougo's healing and comfort.
Glad to see Doug back up and around. Do all the rehab you can stand and take Tylenol or ibuprofen before you start each session. Good luck!
Dougo, I understand the pain of knee operations, don't let Chet mess with you cause it does hurt and Chet leave poor Dougo alone!!
Chet is an asshole to his Dad!
Let it be he’s just having fun with dougo
@@michealking6178 no, he pokes at him all the time because he's a spoiled little shithead...take him out back for 5 minutes would cure it!
Dougo your my hero its so nice to see you and Chet the way you bond I only wish my father and I were half as close as you 2.
Glad to see DOUGO up and out and about I do love him telling stories now I can't wait for the new videos fot the flatbed

2 meniscus tears and a knee replacement. Let's just don't go there again
I had my first replacement done 29 years ago, then end of 2021 had other knee replacement. Month later had original knee redone...

The hissing on the Pickup is the VGT turbo. The valves close during colder temperatures for it to maintain it's operating temp.
Dougo is getting around very well. I hope his recovery will be complete. The new side-by-side is a great addition to the equipment you will be using this year.
All your videos are special when Dougo is in them. The Larson family is awesome. I love y' all's sense of humor! 🙏's for Doug's knee!
I had a total knee replacement, I do not regret it one bit.
Best wishes for you

Hey Dougo! Glad to see that your back. Now take it easy and don't overdo it too cause any relapses! Chet keeping putting out these great videos! God Bless the entire Larson Family & the Big Swede.
Build, create, design says Chet. I will pass that phrase on to my grandkids who want me to spend, give, and keep them in the nest forever.
It's always a good video when Dougo's in it. Let that knee heal up Dougo.

Doug, I broke my leg back in February 2010. Took a lot of pushing my limits to get back, close to normal. Hang in there it gets better.

If you have a single good used tire, make it a Spare. it can be used on the front if needed. or pair with a similar used and make a new set. 😊
Speedy recovery Dougo
You and Doug should never be left alone and unsupervised.
Wishing Dougo a speedy recovery. Don't let the Big Swede near your new side by side of else Brodie will never get anything else done, apart from washing it!
Good people right here... always happy for these hard working, Appreciative folks..wish you boys the best always..
I was ski racing at Buck Hill two weeks after my meniscus surgery....there is hope, Dougie!
I have a Northstar 1000 we bought new and I love the dang thing. Can’t beat the HVAC, especially when you’re getting older lol
Take care Dougo.

It was great seeing Dougo again. Missed seeing him and hearing his wisdom.
Love your upgrades.
Glad to see Dougo out and about and the new Ranger is going come in handy this summer on the farm! 👍👍
Nice Trip with your Dad. You can’t replace your time together as You well Know. Have a great spring planting.
Chet put 2 in bracket lift on front and turn shocks all the way up. We had bad luck with axles on the rear with the lift
I love your dad he’s sooo different in the perfect way 😂 He’s hilarious
I’m so glad you and your dad has such a good relationship. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. Whatever used to Doug has got a excellent personality. For that ranger I’d recommend if your going 10 or 15 mph to drive in low. Any faster then run it in high, better for the clutch!
Great to ride with you two today, Dougo was in rare form. Great team.
You know you did something similar in the past but would love to see Dougo and Randy sit down and talk about the days growing up on the farm.
Thanks for another cool video the laughs wow so awesome to see y’all together bless y’all glad your on the mend
I can feel Dougos pain. I tore both meniscus’s a few years ago from playing football. I had surgery done on both knees. Unfortunately only one of the surgeries worked well cuz I still have knee problems. Tell Dougo that it gets better from here.
I have had 4 knee surgeries and finally had to have it replaced.hope you don't get old Arthur in it
This has brightened up my day. Thankyou.
You have a good time
I love the comedic zooms during the videos. They are funny
I had the same surgery on my right knee back in 93. I was off work for 4 months, with no weight on the leg. Then, two months of pt.
