- Bought and received this MST CFX-WS DC1 kit about a month ago from Asiatees. Having been one of the early adopters of the CFX-W kit back in 2017, I wanted to revisit this chassis and check out the new SA25 straight axles. The fact that the kit comes with a nice Land Rover Discovery body was a bonus. This is the unboxing and start of a new build series!

Yeah, my building has slowed down a bit the last few months due to work, etc. I've still got a lot of rigs in the queue!

Yeah, I think now that I've got experience with so many platforms under my belt now, I might have new ideas on how to get the best out of this chassis. I really need to dig my CFX-W v1 out of the garage and work on it.

Mine just arrived today. I'm excited to see it here and on instagram.
It's a familiar build for me as I built a CFX-W chassis kit back when it came out in 2017 (one of my first build series!). I don't expect too much has changed since then except for the new SA25 axles. The body sure is nice though! Definitely going to try to scale this rig out and have it move in a scale manner.

Finished mine. Really nice kit, body is epic, especially the light housings. Very excited for yours. I posted the finished DC2 on my Instagram account. Just need to get it on a trail!

I like the fmm except motor needs to be lower and I wish they had cms option available
Yup, The high position is very much a concern if you're going to do more than just trailing. I'll see what we can do to counter it when I get it all built up. I actually had a plan for my 1st CFX-W that I just haven't gotten around to doing yet. As far as CMS... there are 3d prints available on thingiverse, but you'll mostly have to figure all that out on your own. I might try it sooner or later.
That's weird. My CFX-W kit came with aluminum shocks. The RTR comes with the plastic shocks.
My CFX-W kit was the initially released chassis kit from waaay back in 2017. It didn't even include a motor pinion, but people who ordered from Asiatees were provided with one from Asiatees. It was a chassis kit without a body. At that time, aluminum shocks were an upgrade item.
