  • Print magazines are the new social media, says KK Press Publisher Katarina Kroslakova.
Her remarks come as Cosmopolitan Magazine is set to return to Australia for the first time in six years.
“We need that 15 minutes to drop everything and actually have something tangible and beautiful in our hands to consume,” she told Sky News Australia.
“If we can present content which is multi-layered and deep and has authenticity and connection with the reader - that’s a really excellent starting point.
“Currently, we have got six print issues in plan.”

I wish them luck, but I don't believe people are buying magazines anymore sadly.

Interesting. Having been involved in the publishing industry for a long time (books and magazines) I find some of this a bit hard to believe. Bottom-line is that magazines are expensive to buy and so.much of the content is available online these days. Used to be a freelance contributor to magazines...not mainstream consumer mags but hobby and trade publications. But looking at the market again, recently, so many of them have gone. The market shrunk and so had the rates by the time I called it quits nearly ten years ago. Hobby and special interest mags seem to have withstood the decline better than mainstreams probably due to lower overheads and the fact that many of their readers are in an older age group that's not as interested in the internet. Still, yes...I agree..I personally prefer to read longer articles in a magazine. So, any comeback is a good thing.

I buy "Just Bikes" and "Judt Cars" I stopped buying Mens Health because the editor was continually berating men, go figure.
Mad Magazine seems applicable in todays clown world.

The old mad magazine though. The current version is too ideologically correct.
