I totally understand the depression - have had it since I was a kid. Hang in Sister, as you obviously do with much grace!! Hi Bandit! Loving this stitch! 👍✌️🫶🏼🌱
thank you for sharing your ups and downs. A lot of people afraid to show. Take care of yourself keep the faith in the strong. And I cannot wait to try to make one spider blanket.❤
This is my first time seeing you and I really love the way you express everything and explain it and what your depression anxiety was talking about I have it really bad so I know exactly what you talking about.
HAPPY TO MEET YOU….IM NEW AT CROCHET 🧶 AND I HAVE MADE A FEW GRANNY SQUARE BLANKETS. AND THE PINK AND WHITE WOULD LOOK 👀 AWESOME 😎 WITH A RUFFLE …. ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS FOR A GIRL ❤️🙏 THANK YOU FOR TEACHING US A NEW STITCH …..
CPTSD sufferer here. I don't mind v-Stitch- easy and quick. This looks nice and can be personalised for the person by colours or varigated yarns. Absolutely beautiful colours however- you got great combos in each one.
I like that you show the stitch first. I want to know what I'm aiming for because some stitches look chaotic to me, consistent chaos. This is a nice looking stitch.
I completely understand what you mean about depression. I have clinical major depression. It can be hard to handle sometimes. You just have to learn your triggers, a good support system and coping strategies to deal with it. And you also have to learn to accept that it's nothing to be ashamed of. If others have a problem with your diagnosis, it's their problem. You're more than the sum of your medical diagnosis. Just in case nobody has told you today, you are worth knowing. And besides, like I always say "Why be lamron(normal)? If everyone was the same,it would be a very boring world... Hope you have a wonderful and beautifully blessed weekend and 4th!
Thanks for a lovely video, you have a new subscriber ! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with wips that have been set aside for a long time lol. It happens to me now & then when (sorry to say) I get bored with a larger make lol The sweet roll colorway is gorgeous😊I'm looking forward to doing some lapghans in this stitch, for the veterans I make them for ~ they make great holiday gifts for the residents. Be well !🦋
Beautiful blankets! I'm still watching the video but the stitch doesn't sound too difficult! Thank you for describing it in the beginning! I always end up fast forwarding to see if it's a stitch I wanna do or not. This one sounds like it is and I know from the begining of the video! Thank you!
1. THANK YOU for informing people to use long tails! I refuse to buy someone else’s work because I know too many people just weave in a 3” tail, and it drives me insane because I know its going to unravel the first time its washed! 2. I’m not sure if I trust the Russian join. I’m a firm believer if you’re going to spend hours making anything, make sure it doesn’t unravel!!! Take the time to weave in long ends and you’ll never regret it! 3. I like the looks of this stitch and may attempt it after my current project. 4. Yes, gray goes with pink. 5. This size is not a baby blanket size, but what I would consider toddler size. 6. My humble opinion....still working on the humble part!
Love that stitch, great blankets! I wound not do a broader I like the way the edge looks. I need to make a boy baby blanket I am going with this stitch. Thanks so much for sharing 😊.
the stitch itself is beautiful and so are your blankets. I've heard of the stitch before but never realized how great it turned out. I was hoping you had a pattern so I look in the description box and there it is! Thank you
Hi lovely to see youthe blankets are gorgeous ii know how you feel with depression i suffer with it too the crochet helps me ..its a very tough thing to cope with.thanks for sharing.💙💙
Oh my gosh, we share the enthusiasm about being in love with certain stitches! I thought I was possibly the only one in the world to exhibit this behavior. I am thrilled to have you in the sisterhood of selective stitching. LOL ❤️
OMG I LOVE this stitch!! I just found your channel yesterday and I subscribed today!! Your blankets are gorgeous! I too suffer from debilitating depression so I completely understand what you are talking about. Thanks you for sharing your beautiful work and for showing us how to do it. ❤❤❤
Hey Jackson, MS here and I just sub. Thanks for a pretty stitch for a future project. The edge is nice doesn't need a border. That green color looks similar to Herrschners 8 yarn. They have several shades of green and so many other pretty colors. I'm working on crochet family afghans now and have other projects lined up next. I always have several going at once.
You inspired me to make a bumble bee baby doll blanket for my great niece. She turns one in December. Here’s how it looks so far using the Spider Stitch. Keep up the great work!!! Thank You for inspiring me!!! It wouldn’t let me add pictures. If you’d like to see it so far please let me know how to upload pictures. Thanks so much!!!
I really enjoyed this video, thank you for sharing how you work on your patterns. I have the same measuring system but i use my sofa for the size and direction i want for my afghans. And i always use an I -hook for afghans, it takes the guess work out of remembering what hook did i use. This is a very pretty stitch, and since I have a huge yarn stash ,I will be trying it soon. The fern color on the one blanket looks like redheart celery color. I love redheart, so much of my stash is redheart. I think if you added a red ,peach, or purple to the pink and white blanket it would compliment well together. I've been making a few blankets with the granny spike stitch lately, I'm obsessed with the different color patterns I can make with it. It also makes a very lovely fabric. Again, thanks for sharing. Look forward to watching more videos. Take it one day at a time, Ruth
I like your color choices. I really love the green and white one! Thanks for all the info. Pretty work! Yes I am going to try the spider stitch. I don’t know about the border. I tend to have the same dilemmas 🤪
Thank you for sharing your pattern and this stitch! Love your detailed notes which I believe I will start doing. How wonderful to be able to go back after time has passed and actually see what you did. And, personally, I don't think the pink and white blanket doesn't need a border. It's gorgeous just as it is!
Thank you for the pattern and the spider stitch. I am looking forward to trying this. All your blankets are beautiful!! Maybe a half double stitch would work well for a border. You have a new subscriber!!
I enjoyed your video and I love the blankets. I made some dish cloths a while back with a really nice stitch that I didn't write down because, of course, I would remember 🙄. Well, needless to say, I have been going crazy trying to find out what that stitch was. And I think this is it. I'm going to give it a try but even if it's not the same one, I really like this spider stitch and I just picked out some skeins to work a throw. As soon as I finish what I'm working on now. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work and thoughts. I had to laugh because I also kinda fly by the seat of my pants, don't keep good records, and fudge the stitches when necessary. Happy hooking,🌺
If the edges are straight….. yours look great. You don’t need an edging. Baby blankets are usually 30 x 30 and once they get more than 42 inches long they become toddler sizes. I did blankets for Project LInus, and we serve five counties here But I love this new pattern a spider stitch
Nah …. Do a Border……. and you are so down-to-earth and like your personality….I too love doing Blankets, however, I recently had to do some baby things for two family members who were expecting….that’s done and now working on Amigurumi Dolls and Animal Security Blankets…. I like the look of that Spider Stitch….I do not like stitches with large holes……Will definitely try this one out….Tks for posting and showing your beautiful Blankets………🥰👵🏻

Yes, that's what I did when I learned how to do this stitch but since then I don't need help finding the chain 1 space. But I would suggest to someone new to this stitch to use stitch markers.
I can’t think of a better measurement system, lol, how do you measure the baby blanket? Just kidding, I do love the blankets and I’m definitely gonna make some blankets with that stitch.
Hi, Jennie! I'm a first time viewer and brand new subscriber! I love your style. I, too, have depression, and I totally get dropping out of things once in a while. I love the stitch. I've never seen it before, and it looks super pretty and easy. My go-to stitch is the Suzette (sc, dc in same stitch, sk 1) so I could see using the spider stitch as an alternate go-to. Does it need a border? Nah. Maybe that twirly faux crab stitch if you really wanted to, but it doesn't need one, honestly. Hello, and hugs! (Oh, edit to say I've got 2 ginger tabby males, Cream & Milo. And if you like Douglas Adams you probably like Terry Pratchett, too, right? I feel like we're friends already!)
Hello and welcome!! Thanks for the sub. I had no idea that a sc and dc in the same stitch was called "Suzette", just learned that recently. While I love Douglas Adams I haven't tried Terry Pratchett yet. Our 2 cats are Arlo and Bandit. Arlo is a buff colored ginger tabby with long hair and Bandit is the ginger tabby with white socks!! Hello new friend!!

I love the colors on this one! If u do 3 single crochets instead of one its called the sprig stitch. Which is also fabulous.
I like the idea of the sprig stitch, think I'll put that on the list of things to try.
Very pretty stitch... I do the same thing when learning a new stitch. 😊

I love the spider stitch! Yes you should do a border. How about you try light turquoise for the border? Or a light green? Have fun.

Beautiful blankets! New subscriber

Beautiful from south Africa
Hello South Africa!!
I would leave it just as it is.
Bellissima coperta/scialle ❤🙋🌼🏠☀️🐶🐱🏖️🏞️
Gray would be perfect! You could use a shade of green to represent leaves 🍃 on a flower 🌸, if you aren’t satisfied with gray. 😊
I never thought of green, that's a good idea but I did decide to leave it as is without a border.
I would stick with the white for a border if you want to do that but I think it looks beautiful the way it is 🥰
I think so too!
No border, it beautiful as it is.
I love the texture and the camp fire blanket. Can you do that one please?
Just uploaded the video for the campfire blanket on Sunday
Love this stich

No, not yet. I'm working through the project pile first then I'll work on downloads, pdf's, and tutorials.
I have MS, and let me tell you, the depression I have from it is no joke, so I understand you about that. Stay well.
❤🤗
I did a afghan in these colors and wondered why? Then I saw the colors matched my feasta wear dishes lol
I love fiesta ware dishes!! They are so colorful!
It’s very pretty, do you have a pattern?
Love this stitch too
Me too!
Love it!
Your funny, love love your technique on a stitches, I also do the same when I love a stictch.....I'm going to do Christmas lap blanket with the spider stictch... thanks 🧶
Thank you. Christmas lap blanket sounds awesome!
Maybe place a stitch marker in the chain one space on the previous row. That way you can find it easier.
Yes, that's what I did when I learned how to do this stitch but since then I don't need help finding the chain 1 space. But I would suggest to someone new to this stitch to use stitch markers.

Yeah it would, thank you. But I have decided to leave it as is.

For the pink and white one? 150

An H / 5mm or an I / 5.5mm
