I love the rainy areas in this game; I remember that I once started Chapter 2 one very early summer morning, when it was raining outside. That felt awesome.
I'm playing this now on an actual CRT with the PS1. It's amazing how much better it looks playing on the TV it was intended for. No pixels, just beautiful graphics.
This game was so easy to beat once you taught all your characters how to be two handed double strike knights. I used to play this game for days getting all the secrets and character skills, even the ones that were hard to get and weren't very strong, but still fun to play. Awesome video and love the "No Commentary". Great Job!!
This game ranks in my top 5 favorites of all-time! Loved the story, the gameplay, the plot twists throughout. This game was just downright amazing. I play it to this day!
One of my favorite games ever. Spent so much time grindin. Kill all but one enemy, surround it, power and mind break , then just spend the rest of the battle just healing that monster and getting JP. I didn't have a life LoL

As I recalled, original FFT don’t have black knight or onion knight. So best gears for Ramza for me is double handed from samurai and the top mantle for all my soldiers. You can evade almost anything. Love this game! Play day in and day out

Ramza was a called a spoiled brat by his brother. Ramza had everything handed to him, and he didn't have to earn it. When things got too difficult and he couldn't handle being a Beoulve, he left it all behind. This describes his state of mind when he changed his name and became a sellsword.
Awesome playthrough. Haha on your second playthrough go into the settings and disable confirmation for move and act commands. It will save you 10,000 clicks :D
Tactics Ogre also written directed by the same writer and director of this game. Tactics Ogre got rereleased on Switch Steam etc. It is a crime Final Fantasy Tactics isn't rereleased on Steam Switch PS4 etc
Ah Slums in Dorter. i remember how I leveled up my Wizard and unleashed Bolt 4 on those archers ;) At Lionel Castle I trained two monks and Earth Slashed everyone. My friend trained two black chocobos,. poor Gafgarion :) 7:00:00 with Wiegraf I learned from GameFaqs not so long ago that in that battle few squares ahead of us is an Item that has Holy absorb. I find it fascinating that the hardest in theory battle we could have beaten with the use of move find item and equip change, two of the most common abilities ;) I do not remember how I defeated him, probably Chakra or HP Restore with brave/yell tricks. 24,5 years ago and I still listen to this OST and Vagrant Story :)

If you name Ramza as Master on the name screen your hero will be having all jobs Mastered 😊 he is double engineer so I had the pleasure to know him and this way because of his ego we discovered this cheat 😊
@@a_a4722 the two sword ability will let you attack twice while the counter will just let you just counter. If you have them both they are definitely deadly to physical melee enemies.

Just curious, should i play this game!? I am playing the final fantasy games from 1 to 16. I already beaten 1 and 2 on my psp vita!! So i was wondering if i could give this one a chance too.
Why in the world haven’t we gotten a remaster for current systems the other FF games have and I enjoyed this game even though I gamesharked it just to get most of the secrets and we should also get a collection of other RPG titles like the seventh saga and chrono trigger. I think my version had a different ending where he asks her what she wants and she says death then he stabs her and then he kills himself maybe that was a secret ending that I somehow got if anything we need a sequal to this game.
@@succubus3907 I capture the gameplay on my ps3 and it gives me the option to play it on full screen. It just looks weird stretched sometimes depending on the game!
@@3rdratedgamer yeah why i said to play The PSP isntead since The screen was made for it to be wide, they made menus and graphics to Look good in a 16:9 res isntead of being force strerch. Imo always play on The intended resolution.

I've waited for this game to come out on steam. I've tried to use emulators with no success. I've decided that I'm just going to by a refurbished ps1 and the game.
See this here is the definition of a turn based final fantasy game. I still refuse to call any of the games that use the atb system turn based. Older games obviously held back by hardware had to have inividual units acting at anyone one time, but you can still think of it like the atb bar is the speed at which units can attack (like attack per second), even if only one is attacking at any one point. It's just a slower pace thats all, not frantic with numbers filling screen lmao. But nope, since you can't mas the button and attack frantically, and have to wait for a "charge" to issue the attack, its gotta be turn based.
I can't stand the anime look, especially when they go for cute in a fighting game ... but I made an exception for this game and played it till the end because it was so good! That's 27 years ago and it's still the only game with anime graphics that I ever played. That's how good this was.

Yes the PS1 version is the best. You can steal all of Elmdor's samurai gears. In war of lions version you cant .
