As someone who loves tattoos and is also prone to fainting, a hearty meal beforehand is SOOOOO important! She probably wouldn't have "needed" candy, if that's against her "diet," if she had just eaten a substantial meal beforehand to begin with - but we know that she probably didn't.

Imsmith, you may have something called POTS, postural orthotic tachycardia syndrome. I've had various types of falls and stumbled almost all my life. But they're different types. The pots one is completely blacking out out falling face down like a plank of wood, I don't get any warning, I've broken bones and badly injured myself.
The other is my hypermobile body, feet, knees and ankles mainly being just too bendy and I can't compensate for small height differences in a path of a pebble. Then the other is back to my bendy body, my feet are like an eighteen month old toddler's feet, I lose balance as they do, I fall with my bottom in the air and hands flat on the floor, I'm in my 49s and can still easily bend like that.
I'd been telling me doctors about them for years and telling them about pots to no avail. Until I badly smashed my face and wrists, the doctor in the A & E department was shocked I hadn't broken my wrists, facial bones and that I just out my dislocated thumb back myself. It's common in EDS.
Please have a look at the difference between faints and blackouts

I got my biggest tattoo during a very stressful week and didn’t sleep and eat properly and 4.5 hours into the tattoo session, the absolutely amazing tattoo artist gave me some candy to get me through the last hour. I'm a very picky eater when it comes to candy, but I would have eaten anything at that point 😂 got through it and still love my tattoo

@@JuMiKu I wish more people knew not only of the absurd history of chiropractic, but also the ABSOLUTELY scammy and pseudo-sciency nature of it in its current form. There is no "doctor" of chiropractic; that's a title they've bestowed upon themselves without having any sort of actual medical experience nor knowledge.
Being a chronic pain patient, I've been recommended many, many things, chiropractic being one of them (my mother is incredibly adamant that I find one). I refuse to entertain the idea of going to a chiropractor whose practice is more or less unregulated and can easily mess your entire body up. They are NOT doctors of medicine. Just literal pseudoscience, bunk, and snake oil.

Just a fun fact. Chiropractors aren't doctors. They have the title "Dr.", but they don't attend medical schools and are not medical doctors. (They dont have an M.D.) They have a chiropractic degree. This is possibly why that so called "Dr." had no qualms about promoting and selling items that have no proven health effects and are part of an MLM.

I have quite a few health issues, so I've been approached many times by Plexus reps. I did my research on the supplements and the chromium concerned me. It's a TRACE element, meaning your body only needs a little. But trying to explain that to a rep didn't go well. She started grilling me and I just stopped responding because it's none of her business what I choose to do for my health. After I started watching anti MLM content I went back to see that conversation and she'd deleted it before sending me info about her current MLM. Sigh. It would've made a good story, but I can't remember exactly what she said.

    • @lux.illuminaughty
      @lux.illuminaughty 7 месяцев назад

I was saying the same thing to my screen watching this, "trace, TRACE element!" Even Googling chromium, the 4th thing that popped up from is WebMD, Sept 2023, and right in the little blurb it says "essential trace element." From what I recall, this is what people are talking about when referring to chrome on cars; it is added o stainless steel to make it more corrosion (rust) and tarnish-resistant.
The author of the story is lucky to have learned what was happening before it became chromium poisoning and permanently affected her organs/health. And this is what I don't get about these companies that get into the health & wellness supplement arena with little to no background in or understanding of the field, and then create these incredibly cutthroat sales environments/philosophies where the effort and energy is placed on making sales, building down lines, rather than ensuring your products are safe, and that your clients are getting what they need safely.

if someone is passing out, give them water and sugar! low blood sugar is one common reason, and the other is dehydration causing low blood pressure.
If sugar isn't helping, give them more water and something salty. Salt helps with water absorption with raises blood pressure. And of course, just let them rest for a bit.
That's in fainting first aid from someone with a fainting disorder

Doing "classes" featuring the products is not something I've heard before and it makes me think the chiropractor was getting a cut of the commission for the sale of any product they display at the practice.

I don't recall if I posted this before but Beach Body didn't start out as an MLM. Back in the day it was sold through infomercials. I bought the Insanity from QVC back in the day.

Calling a chiropractor a doctor is about as accurate as calling an MLM rep a business owner. The latter is at least less of a dangerous title. They’re just as shady & scammy as each other. Not surprised at all they’d be shilling MLM products. A doctorate doesn’t make someone a doctor or legalise the qualification 🤷🏻‍♀️. Not trying to have a go at the person who submitted the story, just to highlight the shittiness of chiropractors & how they go hand in hand with MLM quackery.

Unless one actually has a deficiency (I have D and B12 deficiency) a supplement is just a way to make really expensive urine. And if you have a real deficiency, off the shelf stuff is often not even going to put a dent in the problem. I have to get prescription strength vitamins and the difference in my energy is amazing!

That ex employee should report that doctor she is pushing products that are not FDA approved and you can’t assume everyone is one size fits all. That’s a good way to hurt someone and possibly give them something that doesn’t work well with something they are currently taking. That’s abusing a position of power IMO.

I passed out when my sister got her cartilage pierced (she was 17 at the time and needed an adult family member who was at least 25 present with her for the appointment but our parents were busy that day, so I went with her) and at the time I couldn't understand why I was given several of those little dum-dum lollipops and a small bottle of apple juice. I guess now I know why.

I’m a house painter, and one of my clients is a chiropractor. His office is overflowing with Kangen water, Young Living oils and a plethora of supplements. I do actually like the guy, but whenever he brings up a supplement with me, I just say, “I’ll have to ask MY DOCTOR about it” and he drops it. Chiropractors are NOT medical doctors, but his clients go to him for all of their health advice and he pushes this crap. It’s amazing they can get away with this obvious conflict of interest.

When I was looking for a job after my divorce, I interviewed with a chiropractor. I don’t remember what kind of snake oil he was peddling, but I was thankful not to get the job and have been anti-chiropractor since then. There’s one in my city that I’ve heard tells people his adjustments can lower their blood pressure. I’m sure they’re not all sketchy, but I’ve heard they have ridiculous student debt and don’t earn that much in relation to the debt load. I think that encourages them to get creative.

That amount of medical care had to have been expensive along with the disruption to her life and the stress and anxiety. These products are clearly dangerous and that she was told to take them together just goes to show the negligence of the company and it's reps.

18:10 YES! The workouts were great, I love Shaun T. I was the fittest ever when we did the 8-week program. We even havebthe grey "I Earned It" shirt! BUT, we hit a plateau after going through the 2nd month 2x AND Insanity Asylum. Even when we followed the diet. The shakes were not bad back in 2011. We stopped altogether in 2012, which was before it became an MLM. Insanity is a good start, but it can be sustained by lifestyle change. We did not need an MLM for that

So who else never knew that even mild dehydration -or not even necessarily dehydration but a lack of extra water…sorry that was a disorganized mouthful…can make them not able to get to your vein to draw blood 🩸?!!! I wish they’d told me this before we found out, when my daughter, who is a “light or slight drinker” (she doesn’t consume much liquid with meals or in between as a cultural habit & is instead accustomed to sipping just a little bit of drink instead of chugging a glass the way most Americans), and they couldn’t get her vein and it got so bad she cried until I called it & said nope, we’ll have to come back tomorrow. All the next day at school, she chugged her large water bottle & refilled as much as she was comfortable. That day, perfect success with her vein! I swear I’d never been told this, OR, if I had, it was regarding simply not passing out and not vein accessibility.

My friend's mom was on one of these health/wellness mlm plans. She lost a ton of weight and then started feeling really poor, turned out she needed to have her gall bladder removed. We can't prove it was due to the weight loss supplements, but my friend did some research and found a few similar problems from other people using the same products. Her mom had to quit using the program and gained all the weight, plus more back.

I've been to 3 different chiropractors: the scammer, the indifferent one who didn't want to go to med school and the passionate one who really believes he's helping people but doesn't pressure into unnecessary visits or pushes weird supplements (the owner's wife does have DoTerra in the waiting room and diffusers throughout the offices, but I've never had anything shoved in my face). I probably will ask him about the ghost though lol.
