THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT AND MEDIA LIE ALL THE TIME THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT HAVE USED TO FEAR TO CONTROL PEOPLE SADLY MANY PEOPLE HAVE BECOME WEAK BEEN BRAINWASHED BY THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT
I once left my laptop on a shared bicycle and it took me a whole day to realize it. It was only a day later when I viewed the monitor and realized that three guys had taken my computer. At first I thought the computer would never be found. But when I took a chance and asked the lost and found at the subway station next to the bicycle , I actually found my computer there. It turned out that the boys were afraid of losing my computer, so they sent it to the lost and found for safekeeping. China is not only very safe, but also has a lot of warm-hearted people.
Tons of people have been asking us about safety as a foreigner in China. We have been all over local neighbourhoods, districts and cities and haven’t felt unsafe once. Obviously, different cities will be different like every country in the world and it all depends on different factors. But in general, China is extremely safe for foreigners.
They made a sanction on the company which produces cameras, and this company is called 海康威视, the largest camera company in the world , I believe this is one of the reason , the 2nd reason I believe they just want to paint China as a bad guy in the world stage .
As one of my former foreign colleagues said: "When I came to China, I felt like a character in the movie The Matrix. I always thought that the Chinese people were brainwashed, and then I found out that it was me!
I first visited China in 2016 as a solo older female traveler. I arrived with exactly the same misconceptions that you had but this changed very quickly! I’ve never felt as safe traveling solo anywhere as I do in China. I had a similar experience with my phone in Shanghai. Went back after an hour and found it exactly where I had been sitting. I’ve now been back to China six times, traveling all over and made it my business to learn everything I can about China. Learning basic mandarin was a game changer especially traveling in more remote areas. I’ve made so many friends who I keep in touch with and visit when I can. Wonderful country and people ❤ visiting China is a must do!!
i lived in usa more than 20 years as chinese, still remember 20 years ago i found 10 dollars bill in a laundry cart when i go laundry,,i gave it to the guy who worked there,i said, please give it to the people who lost it if he came back,,,the laundry man looked at me strangely,i think there is culture gap between us
I'm German, living in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 since 35 years and I have travelled China for 35 years. I remember the time when China wasn't so save in the 90th but it was still more save than in Europe. I've been in every corner of China and my family is German/Chinese mixed. When I say anything positive about China in my German home country, people always telling me that I live "too long" in Asia 🌏. Therefore, thank you for people like you that show China 🇨🇳 as it is today ! ❤🙏🇨🇳🇭🇰🇩🇪🙏❤️
When German hommies tell you that you live"too long" in Asia, You can tell them: "Not as long as the time that you've been living in Anglo Saxon-Jxxish information cocoon"
As recent as a dozen years ago I would’ve accepted what I heard from the “western free press” about “north korean/iranian propaganda lies” but today I’d believe anything coming out of North Korea before I’d believe anything coming from the 10,000% lying western “media” trash.
It’s a reverse brainwash. There are most Chinese people reading English than other way around. So Chinese have access both side of the world, news wise, however people in the west only has one source of news, so you are limited to whatever the west feed you.
I am Chinese and have visited most European countries and the United States before. After returning, I love my homeland even more. Only he can give me the best sense of security
My family moved to Canada from China in 1990s when my son was 9 years old. One day my son asked me - Dad, why the China I was told in my class is not the China we just left? I don’t think China is as bad as my teacher taught us. I had a conversation with my son’s teacher for the concern and offered that I can provide the updated information of China for her teaching. However the teacher told me that what she taught the students are what the provincial authority taught the schools to teach, she can’t do anything else. It was the time that Canada/ America was in the friendliest time with China. Now I am not sure what the schools are teaching but I do know that media (Canada and America) lie every day when they “report” China. Believe me, they simply lie - CBC, CTV, CNN, Fox whatever.
American politicians say: The United States has the right to vote and democracy and freedom. The most unlucky Americans always live better than the Chinese. .
Hmm, your kid in 3rd grade was taught about modern china? But not how to speak proper english? We didn't hear about china till 4th and then, only about ancient chinese history.
Recommended your channel to my friends!Like your independent thinking and unbiased opinion. I live in Australia, the media here (eg. Foxtel, Yahoo, Facebook, CNN, Google, etc )is controlled by the American companies, you can hardly hear an independent voice. I like to hear truth rather than those censored voice by the American government.
@@vangpham2514 Jimmy Dore and particular that Bald guy Kurt in the show are China haters. Kurt talk shxt about China whenever China comes into conversation. They are very much against the western MSM. But when it comes to China. They take whatever they are fed. And I found that quite common throughout the west. Anyway, the rest of the guys in your list are all good. I watch most of them except Douglas McGregor. Never heard of him. Peace!🙂
14 years in China as french, confirmed. I never planned to stay that long and my stereotypes about China died many year ago. Not perfect by any stretch of imagination but so far from the west propaganda. and unlike USSR you can come and see, and no it's not potemkim villages! and btw Chinese tourirst are all over the planet... and go back to China...
There is something very simple, but people who come to China often fail to understand it. It’s not that China banned Google and Facebook, but because they initially expressed their unwillingness to abide by Chinese laws, the Chinese government had no choice but to ban them. Apple and Microsoft have shown their willingness to abide by Chinese laws and can operate unimpeded in China.
Peoples living outside China will never know the truth because it was filtered by mainstream western media. That is the most terrible thing I learn from the west. They basically control the entire world media. I am not interested to read any news from mainstream western media anymore for years
True in a sense but Google actually made the first move. I was working in China and the company was using Google when Google pulled out of China. They were 70% of the Chinese search engine then and basically, the Google CEO said there should not be any government interference in internet and no government can ever access their data. He went ballistic with the Chinese authorities. They moved to HK and expect the China internet and e-commerce to collapse. Since I was working in a US company, it did created a lot of issues as we don't have choices and need to gain access to Google mails and have to use VPN or dial direct via Hong Kong. The next major search engine then was Yahoo ( almost 20% plus ). Ultimately, we have to use local search engines who were starting out as well as Google via VPN in our daily work. So we did contribute to Chinese internet development .... LOL after all and we want them to be able to bring their standard up to Google and the world standards. It went faster and better then we ever thought it would. When Google withdrew, the people then were quite upset with the Chinese government as they really like Google. The die hard even have a meme of GOOJIE ( brother Goo can't be used so Sister Goo will fight ) but Google sue those who use the GOOJIE word as it was too close to GOOGLE. These are actually die hard Google supporters. They then switch to local search engine and Google have no way to gain back market shares or trust even if they wanted to as it is too costly for them now.
I am a Chinese and my wife is an Egyptian. She traveled dosens of times to both most European countries and many cities of China. She becomes love China (maybe even more than myself ). She would defend China with anyone anywhere .
same situation here😂. My husband is Malaysian and we live in Malaysia for years now we moved to Africa. Before he met me all he knows about china is big crowded and people are all brain washed by government. Now we've been together for ten years. The more he knows about china, the more he loves china and Chinese government😂. He defends china in front of everybody and gets extremely mad especially when seeing some Chinese people criticizing their own country. He thinks we are living in heaven already. He admires Chinese government A LOT ! 😅 even will argue with my parents.
These conversations are too crazy, even for the two tourists who claim to be crazy. I can't even imagine how many negative comments and attacks you will receive, such as "how much money China has paid you", "what is the cost", "political propaganda", and other comments will soon come to the comment section. However, I still thank Luke and Naomi for objectively viewing China without Western media propaganda
The first time I heard about social credit score was from my American boss. About 6 years ago, he was on a business trip in Beijing. I jay walked, then he said “oh~ you are gonna lose your social credit score”. I even didn’t know what that was, and he explained to me. LoL, western media made up a China in a parallel universe.
Lol, this is the first time I heard about the explanation of social credit score. I thought it's the personal credit reports by the People's Bank of China for credit card application.
@@jyyau Sorry, but confusion about China's social credit score is 100% the fault of China. Several years ago, the central government presented a half-baked idea, which some parts of China ran with, and then everyone got confused as to what it was and was not. That is hardly the fault of western media.
You will be shocked to learn, that the book '1984' is not banned in China. On the contrary I found this book in EVERY bookshop in China so far. Be assured that Chinese people know and learn from history.
I am Chinese and studying abroad as a graduate student. Every time I see foreigners being misled by Western media into thinking that China is a very dangerous and backward place, I feel very sad. Thank you for telling the truth, and I wish you all the best!❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Naomi you remember the time that you were buying a sausage at Ciqikou street? The lady showed you the price by making a cross with her fingers. She meant that it was actually 10 Chinese Yuan but you only paid 5. After you confirmed with her, she was like ok just take it with that price, after all you are a friend from foreign country.
As a Chinese person,I have to say thank you indeed those people who travel to China can voice out towards the world to unbias the negative thoughts from western media! We Chinese people know that most of western people do have a bad impression and bias towards China and Chinese people, but we don't blame you and we are fair and welcome anyone to China because this is made by western media, especially from US!Sincerely more and more people can go to China and can tell the outer world and can change a little bit for China! No worries for safety in China,we have more than 10 foreign colleagues in my company who already stayed in China for more than 6 years, even 15years for someone, but nobody got crimes and even encountered unsafety here!
To be more accurate, US media sounds more appropriate instead of Western media, all other European and Western countries are just audiences and followers, nothing to do with them
For many years, Western media outlets such as the BBC, CNN, and DW seem to have been trapped in a cycle of predetermined positions, stubbornly clinging to flawed premises and constructing so-called "damaging information" from them. They excel at making sweeping generalizations and leading the audience to accept their conclusions without proof, which calls into question their impartiality and objectivity.
Hello again. 100 % agreement with your words. Whenever me and my wife go Thailand to meet the family of her I talk to her older brother. He alwaystold me about the truth about China. He always tell me: Dont believe all the lies! Everything is so much easier than you might expect. People are so helpful and kind. Love to both of you!
I have been living, working, 4 years in USA and 5 years in China. My feelings today are: terrified of coming back to USA, it's dangerous, no freedom there, opressive, anything could happen to you, be carefull, specially with police. China is a completely different world, there is morality, personal freedom, friendship, easy to talk with anyone, police will help you if you need too. I'm desperate for coming back to China, I will never go back to USA.
I’ve been to US many times in the last 40 years. Safety was always my top concern and that was the reason why there were so many restrictions and considerations before planning to do anything
You should go to China, and you will feel safe everywhere all the time. Also it's a great country that is super polarised in US, so just imagine what they are trying to hide from you in order to scare you enough to manufacture a war in China over the 3 poisons.
As a Brit who has lived in china for 17 going on 18 years, I hope more folks like yourselves promote the truth about China. I grew up in the UK during the cold war and of course any mention of communism instilled a kind of fear in the population due to the threat of missile attacks. The communist government of China is not the same, so much good is accomplished for the people under the government here. In the 90's I moved to work in Silicon Valley and spent the bext 16 years there before moving to China. While America has a lot to offer as a country, I lived under the potential threat of gun violence, drug gang violence and large numbers of homeless in one of the richest countries in the world. Since moving to China I have never felt in anyway threatened, it''s safe to walk the streets in the early hours without any worries about muggings or safety for my wife. Hope you'll ba back soon.
I'm a Brit as well, I am looking maybe to permanently move to China, finding a safe place to live for my family, what cities do you recommend visiting as a person with basic verbal skills in Mandarin?
@@grimfandango76East part of China along the coast, like greater Shanghai, greater Guangzhou/Shenzhen area, is more advanced, but more expensive. West pat of China, especially Chendu, Yunnan province are probably good places to live. For myself, I like to live in one place for some time and move to another place for some time. China is a vast country with a lot of diversities, worthwhile to explore the differences.
Compared to China North India is a horror, full of hooligans, murderers and rapists. As you go Southwards, you get the real taste of India, civilized and safe. BEWARE ladies, step on North India ot your own peril.
As an American who lived and worked in China for nearly 10 years, until covid hit, I never once feared walking the streets or alleyways, day or late night. If locals stared, it was simply from curiosity and excitement to see a foreigner in person. School children would often approach to practice their English, politely saying hello and asking what country I'm from. Now that I'm living in New England, I often witness ugly behavior nearly everywhere I go, from road rage to privileged wives of the wealthier class being rude those they feel are below them. I often miss China and hope to one day retire there.
If you travel you don't understand. You just see a little bit of the surface. Live there and speak the language, then you'll understand. These guys are like preschoolers pretending they have a PhD.
This is a great video, I am from Hong Kong. I love travelling as well. You have point out clearly that western media always lied on China' s true situation. Wish you have nice trip and have life.
Traveled all over the world, traveled with my ninety six year old aunt and my wife to China last October, never ever felt safer and secure during out travels to six cities. We are originally from NYC.
Did your aunt take advantage of the free metro and such for the elderly? Even foreigners are included in this gov policy. Have to be aged 60 or above I believe.
your aunt is so brave and open-minded to travel in a totally strange country, she must be a really interesting person. Welcome to China and have fun again!
There is a Chinese folksay, "七十不隔夜,八十不隔茶" It means that a 70-year-old should not stay out for more than one night, and an 80-year-old should not stay out for more than times of drinking a cup of tea. Your aunt is already 96 years old, and there are great risks in traveling due to her age.
it's a welcoming country. as an american growing up watching western media portrayal of China you and many others hit the nail on the head. Everyone's perception of China is what we are being fed on media. Every youtube video of first hand experience of westerners in China Echo the same sentiment as yours. and I myself traveled to China as well and agree with you 100%. Everyone that traveled to China are shocked to learn and see what they dont see in western media. On the contrary, imagine being Chinese in America and constantly being looked down on and being told to go back to your country because of the many perception of what is being protrayed of your culture and country. While westerners who travel to China or live/work in China are being greeted and treated so nicely and welcomed everywhere they go.
Thank you for your brave and honest spirit!!! We Chinese live through very dark ages starting from the opium war. For centuries, we are bullied and ripped off by the collective western countries, just because they are technologically advanced than us. After the reborn of China in 1949, we Chinese tried our best to rebuild our broken country. The first generation devoted themselves to the country, making it sovereign. The second generation devoted themselves to make the country prosperous, and the third generation try their best to make it stronger, both economically and militarily. We invade no one during these generations, and we shared our progress with the world. What we want is just a stable and fair international environment, so people all over the world could live better and better, not just the 'developed' countries. Everyone should have the right to develop, live better, healthier and happier. Best regards from a Beijinger~~~
After I retired, my wife and I lived in Guangzhou for 2 years. I agree with you 100%. We felt completely save there, even to the point of my wife walking alone back from the subway to our apartment at 11pm. We were respected and even honored (gray hair and a cane helped). When we had to move back to the USA, we were frightened and appalled at the violence here.
For exercising of my legs, I frequently walked up 20 flights of stairs back to my home in my apartment building after midnight in Shenzhen . I left the park at 10:30pm in Shenzhen after doing exercise there almost every day. China is so very safe. I am a woman.
wow, I am in GZ too, I am having my business trip here. I am a Chinese Canadian who was born in Hong Kong. I am now living at IGC Conrad. it's very beautiful here! amazing.
Since many viewers here are telling their stories in China, I think I may tell mine. I went to China the past February [2024]. and visited a small town about 30 minutes away by driving from the city of HangZhou. In a mall, we went into a shop, which I believe it is an artist studio, where many art products were displayed on shelves and a large Apple laptop stood on a desk, which I believe is the shop-owner/artist's working desk. Surprisingly, there was no one else in the shop, not the owner or the shop-assistant. My friends took some of the products from the shelves in their hands to discuss the products' aesthetic merits. We stayed there for at least 10 to 15 minutes, during which nobody else walked in. I asked my friends whether the shop-owners would worry about the products and the laptop being stolen. They stared at me (as if I were from another planet). They told me nobody would steal. Yes. When we left the shop and walked in the mall, I saw a bag and a jacket on a bench unattended. The two incidents on one day impressed me very much and that is why even now [June 2024] I still remember them well.
head into any cafe like Starbucks in China. you'd be even more surprised just how many expensive things people leave around unattended. usually not phones, because they need that to go pay at the register, but otherwise? laptops, purses, mall shopping bags, airpods, etc...
我的iphone 15丢过三四次了,都是吃完饭忘了拿,放在餐桌上,但我从来不慌张,我知道当我回去时,手机一定在原位放着,如果没有,一定是交给前台收银员了 I have lost my iPhone 15 three or four times. I always forgot to take it after dinner and left it on the dining table. But I never panicked. I knew that when I got back, the phone would be there. If not, it must have been given to the cashier at the front desk.
There are still thieves in China, but they are rare now. Children are taught from a young age that they should not take things that are not theirs. In March this year, my son and I found a camera lens on the ground while flying a kite in the park. We picked it up and waited there for two hours. Finally, the owner came and we gave it back to him. He said the lens was worth $800. My son and I were very happy to help others. This is a person's basic morality.
In the countryside of Chengdu, there are already many self-service teahouses. There is no host, and guests make tea, chat or play by themselves. There is a payment QR code on the wall, and when leaving, guests scan the code to pay.
One thing I couldn’t understand is that in western countries some people would have problem with surveillance cameras in public areas, because it violates privacy. Why is privacy needed in public areas? Don’t they know ‘private’ and ‘public’ are two completely opposite ideas? If you’re not up to no good, why are you so afraid of being seen? Plus, it’s not every camera a camera for security purposes or tracking people’s traces (for people who had criminal records or suspicious activity), there are also cams for traffic monitoring, speeding, weather monitoring and etc. So yea, that’s that.
Well, only people who have a crime in their minds are afraid of those cameras, you know, they don't want people to know what bad things they're going to do.
True. As a normal people, I don’t pee on the street, I am not naked in the public, I don’t have sex in the public, I don’t do crimes, why should I feel offensive to surveillance and CCTVs 😂😅 it’s really a weird accusation
You’re right I feel safe in China special for tourists, people there are very friendly for foreigners. I went to Xiamen last summer and very pleased with the environment and food.
would you mind sharing more of your travel experience in Xiamen? I was born there but left China when I was just an infant. I am in my mid 50's and would like to plan a trip to Xiamen and bring my "gweilo" boyfriend of 11 years with me :)
i rented a (very expensive) bike in Shanghai and asked the rental guy to sell me a lock. he told me that in China nobody stole bikes. i didn’t believe him at first but considering he had more to lose and there was literally no lock at his shop, i left with the bike. I biked around Shanghai for days without a lock (but also tried to never be too far away from my bike) and had zero problem. i couldn’t even imagine this in america!! In america, I use a heavy duty lock and still lost a seat.
A guy who used to live upstairs, before he moved elsewhere, one time said he lost 17 bikes so far at the same locking spot. That already was a better part of the E.Village, between 2nd & 3rd Aves, Manhattan.
I was in Beijing and I lost my bag with my passport in it. Reported it at a roaming policeman at the park and escorted me to the police station...someone has seen my bag and reported it at the station 🙏
I once lost my wallet in a bus in Ottawa, Canada. I realized that immediately after I got off the bus. I ran after it but the driver just ignored me. I even went to the bus station and asked every driver who came and stopped there but nobody helped me including the police.
Sharing such news is more convincing of 'safety'. The Chinese govt educated it's people, to be caring. Founder can take the cash, but return the veg with passport. Yet, nothing was missing
My nephew left his wallet in the taxi and went to the police station where the police immediately checked the location, time and date and able to identify the taxi and through the taxi company contacted the taxi and got his wallet back the following day. The driver didnt even want to accept any compensation or reward. Patience and respect was the order of the day. Cheers China and the police. The cameras did wonders for safety.
That's not happening in Taiwan. I lost my wallet in a taxi and no one cares to help and Police had just said that you will not be able to retrieve it back!

Cameras give you the illusion of safety. What they actually bring is tyranny and total control. I'd rather be victimized by a robber than the government.
I was surprised that Naomi, as a white German, also encountered harsh questions from the American visa officer. Maybe Americans really do have a sense of confidence, as if everyone else wants to enter the US illegally.
@@kayflip2233very true. Once I took bus to Seattle from Vancouver, a young Canadian couple were grilled over an hour at the CA/US boarder for no reason. All of us had to wait in the bus meanwhile.
Thanks for reporting the truth. It is so nice that you have the freedom to speak the truth! See what happens in the U. S. university campuses when the students were arrested or even disqualified by the university because they spoke the truth ?
My husband has been working in Shenzhen for 20 years as an overseas Filipino and we have no idea what that “social credit score”’ is. This disinformation in the west is so rampant and far-reaching. Kudos for being open-minded enough to see China for yourselves.
There is one for Chinese locals, basically committing a criminal case will affect your child and grandchild on their eligibility to work for the government. But this is more of a police record thing and police records exist in most countries, it's just a matter of how you use the record to fend off criminals😅 I also lived in Shenzhen and Hong Kong
lol because you are not chinese citizen. Yes they do have social credit as the west do. Here in Australia, the bank need to check criminal history, loan history, rental history, etc, then manually work out the social credit, but in China, they made it simpler to apply job, get loan, etc. I was in Shenzhen for 2 years. Once I crossed when light was red with my electric bike. The police stopped me and 4 other guys. One by one, they got fined by scanning their Citizenship card, then the police explained it's 12rmb and 2 credit deduction. When it was my turned, I showed the photo of my passport from phone and he scratched his head few times, then tell me to go on. LOL, the other 4 guys complained. Another time I went to see some new apartments with my friends. Once the agent knew I'm foreigner, they went back to manager to check the procedure as foreigner doesn't have credit social point etc. Also another experience, I made video for my son's homework where he need to explain awareness of taking care our eyes. I edited it a lot and make it extremely funny and educational. The teacher called me next day to get my permission to send that video to national level competition as it's really interactive. I sent updated video with school logo and won that competition. The price was drone toy, a certificate of excellent, and they asked my ID so they can give me the social point award. I don't have Chinese ID, so they exchange that with voucher to supermarket via Wechat scan. So yes, social credit exist in China and all around the world. China made the system simple and encouraging their people to contribute to society. In Australia, I tried to apply for funding for my son to get in Private school, on their form, they asked us to provide evidence if my family did volunteer jobs to increase our point to register . That's social credit point too, but media will never demonized it.
Unless we can be perfect, we shouldn't use perfection as a benchmark unto others😊 Also ... RUclips is not illegal nor banned, it's just blocked because they didn't wanna comply with the sovereign laws of the country. Google have operational offices in the country & official state media also uses them !? State medias like CGTN, CCTV, Xinhua news, etc provide news & information without sensationalism unlike what the western ones are prone to because they don't need to monetize their channels. They also don't spin information out of context. Neither are they allowed to slander or call names at others - which is not wrong unlike unbridled liberty. However, their normal restaurant crowds can be as noisy as in Italy.😅✌️

Biggest welcome to China from Dublin. I appreciate you guys' honesty, I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in China. I brought my friends from London to China for a short vacation early this month, we were all really enjoyed the time there and planning to come back to explore more, take it easy and enjoy!
There are basically no homeless people in China, which solves the main safety problems. So why is there no homeless people in China? 1. Chinese people like to save money to avoid extreme situations. 2. the homeless are a shame to local governments or family members, so they usually receive substantial help quickly. 3. There are no large-scale drug users because the cost of drug use and sales in China is too high.
I'm from Manchester, lived in China for the last 18 years and neither me or anyone I know has been the victim of theft, in the UK I don't know anyone who hasn't been the victim of theft! Isolated incidents aside, China is by far safer than the UK.
Let's not talk about the United States, which is a country with frequent shootings and a high crime rate. Robberies and drugs are rampant, and the streets are full of homeless people setting up tents. This is also the case in many Western countries. Would you dare to walk alone on the streets of the United States in the early morning? And in some Western countries, especially ladies, would you dare to walk alone on the streets in the early morning? In China, you can go out to eat on the street if you are hungry at 1 a.m., because there are surveillance cameras everywhere in China. If you commit a crime and rob others, you have been captured by the surveillance camera and will be arrested the next day. China's surveillance cameras are used to monitor criminals. Western media say that China's surveillance cameras are used to monitor Chinese people. This statement is really ridiculous. You are an ordinary Chinese civilian. What are you being monitored for? What is there about you that is worth monitoring? China has a population of 1.4 billion. As long as you don't commit a crime, the government doesn't bother to care about you.
No… “the negative perception a lot of the world thinks”(1:12) about China is NOT the view of the vast majority of people in the Global South; which accounts for 87% of the world’s population. The people that have these negative perceptions are from the collective West and it’s vassal state allies (USA, Canada, EU, The UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, The Philippines, Pacific island nations, Israel), which is NOT representive of “the world”, as the West often thinks and says. Americans and many Europeans often don’t realise that the American (and to a lesser extend the UK) media’s global reach is massive and the largest in the world. The Americans run the largest propaganda machine in the world. This is a FACT, that can be fact checked. The Americans control a lot of the global Geo-political narrative; even if it’s skewed and full of misinformation. So it is not surprising that most people in the West have an anti-China, anti-CCP bias. Only from experiencing each country for ourselves, can we debunk these false narratives and flat out lies.
Its called CPC , NOT CCP . CCP is used by China Haters as a not so subtle Insult to the Chinese Nation . If you read a article referring to the CCP , it already has set the Direction the Article will take .
What a nice video. I like to hear you tell the truth. Doesn't matter if is good or bad about a country, I only want to hear the truth. I have also been to China and those southeast countries. I had the same experience as yours, I got scammed in Vietnam, the Philippines & India, but I didn't encounter any scam in China, no single one!!! China is safe, clean and much more advanced than those 3 countries too. I sort of understand why the America hates China now.
The teaching from 3000 years ago is deep inside the Chinese minds. There might have been brief periods when it swayed away a wee bit, but normality has been resumed. A well looked after Chinese won't want to go the bad way.
American politicians are worried that Western white people will shake Western values and political systems and even lose power after seeing the true face of China. Therefore, they are afraid that the people will know the truth.
I am a retired old man living in Auckland, New Zealand. I like watching your videos very much, and I like you praise and like China. When I saw you l came to China, you looked rosy and fat. I wish you all the best.
I also welcome you to come to China to have a look around. China welcomes you!!! Actually, it doesn't cost much. Of course, the premise of all this is that you need to have a good body! Seeing what you said, I feel that you really need to come to China to taste our food, scenery, and culture! Chinese people are not what you promote in the media. In fact, we are very kind and hospitable!
Westerners typically "stick-out" in Asia. No need to do that because you are not well-dressed. Here's a tip. Wait until you arrive, then budget some time to study how people of your age dress to look smart and blend at different places. (town centers vs a nature walk). OFF. Then shop first for the right stores (according to your budget). You will then be ready for the next, bigger step: learning higher Asian standards of behavior.
I almost laughed my ass off when you guys talked about social credit score, it's just the credit score of Alipay, but the western media is really awesome

In the US, it feels like we are awash in negative press coverage and political rhetoric about China. This can put a real strain on Chinese Americans, including me. Thank you for being so open minded about China and willing to help dispel stereotypes about China and the Chinese. The world could use more intelligent cosmopolitans like you guys. Have a great time during the remainder of your visit to China!
woke far left is creating this brain washing content, they are also destroying the beautiful wester cities all over western world by implementing some crazy far left policies which is causing increase in homeless, drug trafficking, crime, etc its not safe to walk in any western cities without worrying
I am not sure what you are referring to by “its” where you wrote “its more welcomed”. It’s always a bit challenging to address a less than coherent comment. The US is no different from any other country in that it has issues which responsible citizens should and have the right to address. Its relationship with China presents some of those issues. I totally reject the notion that raising such issues with the aim of making things better - an exercise of free speech that actually strengthens the fabric of this country and is the opposite of not feeling at home here - means that one should leave this country. Your comment is the type of bullying tactic that a simpleton would use.
@RohankrishnaB The analysis in your latest post on who might do well in which country might be an interesting starting point in someone’s active consideration of where to move to. However, I am not currently considering such move and posted my original comment mainly to express support for the couple’s positive revelations about China. I don’t believe that anything in such comment suggested that I am interested in moving or soliciting input on where to move to. Therefore your “advice” came as a surprise to me. As far as unsolicited advice goes, yours seems a bit too simplistic or redundant. For example, if someone had a serious problem with discrimination in my country, he might choose to engage in advocacy against it, instead of choosing to flee. After all, someone like me is as full-fledged citizen of the US as anyone else and has paid a ton of taxes, so why should I flee instead of standing up for my rights and those of fellow Asian Americans? Also, most if not all people have set down roots where they live, and leaving for a foreign land involves weighing the upside of such move against friends and family left behind, disrupting the education of one’s kids, if any, the risks of leaving a promising career for uncertainties in a foreign job market, and the like. It’s not nearly as simple as just deciding to pick up and go. Of course, if the situation ever becomes dire for Chinese or Asian Americans in the US - say, for example, in the hopefully unlikely event that they will be rounded up for internment camps due to some military conflict between the US and China, as Japanese Americans were in the wake of the Pearl Harbor attack - I would have to seriously plan to flee this country, independently of any “random person’s” advice. Given the above, and in the absence of the context provided in your later comment, my initial reaction to your first comment was that the only reasonable interpretation left of such “advice” was that it resembled an unfortunate trend in the US among those who self-identify as mainstream or the only patriots in this country, when they encounter an issue or constructive criticism about this country raised by someone else, usually a member of a minority. i.e. the former would push back with hostile comments like “if you don’t like this country, leave” or “if you have a problem with this country, go back to where you came from”. Believe it or not, even politicians at a national level in this country have engaged in this type of reprehensible behavior, and I aim to push back on this behavior when I reasonably can. You have now helpfully provided in your second comment more context for your initial comment, and I will take your word that such context was intended for the initial comment. However, this exchange does serve as a reminder that social media posts usually lack the audio or visual cues (from which we draw a lot of contextual information) present in a live, face-to-face interaction, so it would make sense to sketch out the proper context of a message in its wording from the get go.
Condescending? Get a life? Who was it that gave some long winded advice about moving that was as unhelpful as it was unsolicited? Nevertheless, after your second comment I actually thought that there was a chance that you are someone who can be reasoned with. Evidently I was wrong. If you want to continue spewing irrational vitriol, do carry on, but I am afraid that you would be ranting into the wind from here on :-)
I went on a trip to the European countries in February. The tour guide reminded us to take care of our belongings almost every hour. He told us the pocket-picking there was terrible. One morning in the dining room of a hotel, in Paris, we were having breakfast, and one of our group members found his bag stolen when he put his bag on a chair and went away to pick up some food, even though he asked his son to keep an eye on it. It was such an unpleasant experience because in China we all get used to leaving stuff on the chairs or other places and going away for a while.
That kind of crime is found in some places in most big countries and cities. It's a crime causing great inconvenience but not a threat to one's personal safety.
Thank yo for having the courage to investigate and testify to your truths! Beautifully clean streets you are walking, nice, welcoming people, I have never experienced a negative event anywhere I travelled in China, not one. Your comments are exact regards to safety, security, and actually freedom of mobility. So many places through out N America where even in small towns you are not safe and very often targeted. Thanks again for attempting to educate Westerners as it could possibly avert a war once "we" realize it is us who have been lied too and brainwashed. The truth is soooo respectful!
No place in the world is flawless. China is a country of 1.4 billion people, it is impossible to ask everyone to be honest and kind. But at least most of the time we feel safe and peace. Welcome to China and hope you have a good time here, also take care❤
I have to say, I stayed in US for one year and I REALLY Miss the feeling of walking outside at night. It was my family'a evening routine before. Enjoying the breeze and flowers on the street will smell better at night too. But I lost this moment for the whole year here. Can't wait to go back to my beloved home country
It's unfortunate how people's ignorance can be exploited. They just parrot the Anglo- Saxon mainstream media reports or malicious lies that are distorted or spun.
The prejudices you formed before coming to China give you a strong cognitive impact after arriving in this country. As a Chinese who has been to Europe, I don’t feel the same way because what I learned from the Chinese media is the correct understanding of Western countries.❤❤🎉🎉
Hello, I am retired American male married 15 yrs to a Russian wife in US. The last 4 years living mostly in Russia but traveling to other countries. I felt the same way you did for 1st time visiting Russia very nervous about the way USA media makes Russia as an evil place but reality Russia is very safe, clean, modern cities, grocery stores loaded with food and Russians are very friendly. Also no Russian police has ever bother me because I am an American like the US media said they would. I 100% agree with you that being in another country like you being in China and I am in Russia is so much safer than America! It was like when I was a child in America and was a lot safer back then. Russian kids are hanging out with friends freely bike riding and walking around on there own and taking public transportation safely. Women in Russia dressing nicely can walk around without harassment from men unlike America.
Too many 007 movies badmouthing the ussr & russia. It was a time when the solviet was still around, I knew some young jewish immigrants highly trained in physics. I asked them about safety living in russia, esp around moscow. The polite answers were mostly like " It's not as bad as they say. The subways are very safe at night." Of course it was compared to nyc.

Thank you for your honest take on China. I was always conflicted being a Sri Lankan American about China. China has been a long time friend of Sri Lanka but US has such a love hate relationship with China. Absolutely refreshing to see you both genuinely enjoying your visit. Can't wait to visit China hopefully soon.
Yes, China is a beautiful country. Recently, I started going to China again after 20 years. It has improved tremendously. The quality of life and infrastructure has improved by leaps and bounds. I will travel to China for holidays more frequently than I will for Europe as Europe has lost it.
Wow, I didn't expect anything like that in a travel vlog. You guys pretty much experienced a paradigm shift while in China. As someone who's familiar with China, the things you said didn't surprise me a bit. But, for honest opinion coming from people who had never been to China, that's something else. Thanks bro for what you have done. Alleviating the fear of would be travelers is very valuable.
Do you know why so many Chinese fans like you? Since we found out that most countries in the world have biased and untrue reports about us, we have been really sad. I love our country, although it is not perfect, our lives have really improved a lot. Since the policy change in our country, you have come here and changed your thoughts on our country. We are truly moved. Thank you for speaking the truth, I love you all! Have a great time playing. If you encounter any problems, feel free to contact us or the police.
I feel so touched when you mentioned the immigration said: welcome to China. For some reason got me in tears. So proud to be Chinese. And yes China is so much safer than Canada where I live right now. Thank you for making this video❤
I was having a conversation with my mum the other day about the fearmongering of China, especially here in Australia, where our government acts like its the 51st state of America, and we had a little argument because she didnt believe me that China has only one military base outside its country, whereas US has 750 in 80 countries, she believed China had bases everywhere to help attavk Australia one day...the fearmongering and zenophobia is quite strong in this land down under. Hoping our ppl wake up soon.

I don't speak English, so I used Google Translate to comment. I live in Shenzhen, China. Recently, I've seen more and more foreigners at some major tourist attractions, probably because of the visa-free policy. I sincerely hope that more and more foreigners can get to know the real China through traveling, and like it all. I wish you a pleasant journey!
In my experience, the only danger in China is 1. Crazy electric moped delivery drivers that can appear out of nowhere in the sidewalks (you can’t hear them coming) and 2. Potential lung cancer from second hand smoke when Chinese smokers smoke indoors. Other than that, for me China is a great place to explore and enjoy. If you love Chongqing and Chengdu, you will be amazed with Shanghai, probably the best Alpha city in the world in my opinion.
@@DRL-px6qu No where is "really free". Everywhere we go we will be constrained in our actions by society. That is the cost of civilisation. The difference is, what is the flavour of freedom and order that you take and the balance of each.
Smoking is prohibited in indoor public places in China, but it does not rule out violations. If someone smokes in a restaurant in violation of regulations, you can tell the restaurant manager and they will stop it.

I'm from Beijing, China and now I'm studying in Berlin. Before my first class in Germany beginned, I left my phone on the desk and went out of the classroom to the bathroom. After 2 minutes I came back and saw my professor(an Irish) at my desk. He looked at my seriously and reminded me to not leave my phone behind on the desk. At that time I was a bit nervous for it was my first class in a new country, and I caught an old and famous professor's attention just because of this silly(?) act. But I was also a little shocked by his advice, as I thought it's on campus...I sometimes left my computer for 4 hours in the cafeteria/canteen of Peking University, if it's not so busy and won't take up others' space at that time . Also in Starbucks/Costa, I can't see any problem of leaving my degital devices behind, and then go to the bathroom. I thought people in public are watching and how can it be thieves? I have to admit that this's what my education and experience taught me, a girl born in around 2000, Beijing. And now I realize that it's not because of people watching. It's because of the cameras, which I've hardly, ever noticed. And my Irish professor is so kind to remind me as situations are different here. Happy to see your videos! It's like magic that you're experiencing Chinese culture, and I'm also coming across German culture everyday and sometimes Irish style! I really enjoy living in Germany. I love German bread, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut....I'm also curious about Ireland, for example what does the Irish bread taste like? For when I said I love German bread, my professor said he also loves bread and makes them at home, but Irish! The best way to know sth. is to experience it in person! What I'm going to say at last is, welcome to visit my hometown, Beijing next time!
The portrayal of China in Western media can vary widely and is often influenced by political, economic, and cultural factors. Some common criticisms include human rights issues, restrictions on freedom of speech, and aggressive foreign policy. However, it's also important to note that China has made significant advancements in technology, infrastructure, and economic development, and many people in China enjoy a high standard of living. Media narratives can sometimes be one-sided or sensationalized, so it's beneficial to consider multiple perspectives and sources to form a more balanced and informed view. Engaging with diverse media outlets, academic research, and firsthand accounts can provide a more nuanced understanding of China.
Poverty has been eradicated in this country, with none of its 1.4 billion people living in extreme poverty, a remarkable achievement certified by the United Nations! National culture and education is an important state policy in this country, the cultural quality of all the people has been greatly improved, food, clothing, housing, transportation and the overall quality of life have been improved, the crime rate has been reduced due to the adoption of a large number of security measures, such as the security network of cameras recording everywhere, which creates a strong deterrent to criminal activities, and in the event of a crime, the criminals can be identified in less than 10 minutes. These are the reasons why this country is safe ......
Before I came to Europe for my studies from China, I never imagined that the public security in Europe would be so poor. In China, I never felt afraid at any place or time, but in many places in Europe, I am afraid to go out at night.

Tons of people have been asking us about safety as a foreigner in China. We have been all over local neighbourhoods, districts and cities and haven’t felt unsafe once. Obviously, different cities will be different like every country in the world and it all depends on different factors. But in general, China is extremely safe for foreigners.
When you don’t need to hesitate going out anytime at night for late night snack, doesn’t it tell you anything 😂

To be more accurate, US media sounds more appropriate instead of Western media, all other European and Western countries are just audiences and followers, nothing to do with them
Fucx BBC
For many years, Western media outlets such as the BBC, CNN, and DW seem to have been trapped in a cycle of predetermined positions, stubbornly clinging to flawed premises and constructing so-called "damaging information" from them. They excel at making sweeping generalizations and leading the audience to accept their conclusions without proof, which calls into question their impartiality and objectivity.
Hello again. 100 % agreement with your words. Whenever me and my wife go Thailand to meet the family of her I talk to her older brother. He alwaystold me about the truth about China.

I often miss China and hope to one day retire there.

it's a welcoming country. as an american growing up watching western media portrayal of China you and many others hit the nail on the head.
Western media has become the source of lies and misinformation. What a shame!

我的iphone 15丢过三四次了,都是吃完饭忘了拿,放在餐桌上,但我从来不慌张,我知道当我回去时,手机一定在原位放着,如果没有,一定是交给前台收银员了
I have lost my iPhone 15 three or four times.

所以有监控的公共场所反而更加安全,因为犯罪分子可不想被拍到😂
Well, only people who have a crime in their minds are afraid of those cameras, you know, they don't want people to know what bad things they're going to do.
True. As a normal people, I don’t pee on the street, I am not naked in the public, I don’t have sex in the public, I don’t do crimes, why should I feel offensive to surveillance and CCTVs 😂😅 it’s really a weird accusation

i rented a (very expensive) bike in Shanghai and asked the rental guy to sell me a lock. he told me that in China nobody stole bikes. i didn’t believe him at first but considering he had more to lose and there was literally no lock at his shop, i left with the bike.
That already was a better part of the E.Village, between 2nd & 3rd Aves, Manhattan.

yesit'sinventedbythoselosers!
Thé recent video by ENDVR gave me good laugh
芝麻信用分?😂
lol because you are not chinese citizen.

There are a lot of homeless people in the outskirts of big cities, they are people that can't afford the rent but try to get a job in these cities.

Yes, it's not something offically

In Europe we actually have a credit score that the bank checks every time we need a loan or other financial expenses.
@@CapitanDePlai same, in China we also have credit investigation when it comes to loan
the Ali credit score is more widely used in daily life on ali related stuffs, with a high score, no deposit is needed when you use a shared bike or mobile recharges

China is the future, so far ahead than everyone else I would love to visit and see it with my own eyes! Thank you for sharing❤😊
Let me tell you in advance: Welcome to China.
Come quickly I am in Beijing now
In the US, it feels like we are awash in negative press coverage and political rhetoric about China. This can put a real strain on Chinese Americans, including me. Thank you for being so open minded about China and willing to help dispel stereotypes about China and the Chinese. The world could use more intelligent cosmopolitans like you guys. Have a great time during the remainder of your visit to China!
Thank you so much!
woke far left is creating this brain washing content, they are also destroying the beautiful wester cities all over western world by implementing some crazy far left policies which is causing increase in homeless, drug trafficking, crime, etc
its not safe to walk in any western cities without worrying
Thanks for sharing the real China with the world, and you are welcome to visit more cities in China.
i moved to China from the UK, I can agree with everything you say...Peace and JaYoe

They know something about XinJiang, which the Western media wants them to know.😂😂😂

It's excellent to see an increasingly number of English speaking RUclipsrs who live in China or visit the country, and show us so many aspects of it.

I asked them about safety living in russia,

Luke and Naomi, thank you for your honest and truthful views from your experience. I found the same when we were in China last year.

Agreed your viewpoint 1. I think the local do aware of this but they have to do in the right way as it will affect a large population of people living
This can be interpreted as saying that China is really free
