I bought mine in July. Absolutely in love with it. I just purchased that same amp head. Should be here by Saturday. I also plan on buying a Studio in December for my birthday
good review of tones . awesome for little money. I've got a 57 reissue black beauty and this is nearly as good. this just sounds a little brighter. but L think I might invest in one as you can never have too many lol
Thanks a lot, really appreciate you checking the video out! Yes this guitar has a very bright but full sound. Gibson have really worked on the 2016 range, the 490 humbuckers sound much better than in previous years with much more clarity and a thicker presence!
Hi. Great demo, I have a few questions. Do you this it's worth shelling out more money for a Traditional or Standard Les Paul from about 2007-2013 or is this better or as good? Have wanted a good top and keep seeing lovely standard ones from the year 2011 through to 2013,not gonna get anything newer than 2016 (as the quality went down the drain) so just want to know your thoughts. Hope you can help! Cheers
Hey mate, nice playing I'm looking at picking up my first LP (already own a beautiful MiM Tele) and was wondering whether you think it's worth saving for a Traditional (also found a Custom Shop '59 reissue from '10 for $2600) or whether this guitar will provide what I need (I'm a student and thus won't be able to buy another for some years) I play mostly blues - looking for that ever elusive 'Beano' tone cheers
Alex Blood Hey man I'm a student as well! personally I would say go for a 2016 lp traditional. The studio is a great guitar for the money but I thought the traditional felt a bit more like 'the real thing'. in terms of custom shop unfortunately I've never had the privilege of playing one so wouldn't be able to give any advice. Hope this helps!:)
very nice guitar skills, good job! I'm a beginner and looking to get my first LP. Narrowed down my options to 1. Epiphone lp slash rosso corsa and 2. the one you are playing Any idea which one would be best for rock/blues and in general better value (built quality, electronics, rarity etc)? Keep on rocking! \m/
Ikaros 6634 Thanks for the lovely comment, much appreciated! I own a slash epiphone les paul myself, the 'snakepit' one and I also had the privilege of trying a rosso corsa. Here are my thoughts. Although those types of Epiphone are absolutely incredible and play fantastically, Gibson tend to put much better electrics in their guitars in terms of pots and capacitors. However if you're willing to put some decent electrics In then I'd say go for the Epiphone, it makes a hell of a difference. Also if you are a beginner, the slash les paul has a slightly thinner neck than this one and when I started out I was a little put off by a fatter neck guitar. Hope this helps! :)
Trying to decide between epi custom pro or this guitar, thoughts? The custom pro is 769.99 and the tobacco burst version of this guitar is on sale for 899.99 here in Canada.
Hi there! Now its all completely subjective but I have owned a few Epiphone's and my dad has the Les Paul custom Pro in tobacco burst and whilst they look the part and are great guitars they lack the sound quality of a Gibson. But they are still amazing guitars! I'm just saying there's a reason Gibson's are, on the whole, more money than Epiphone's. Having said that this guitar has a really fat neck on it so if that's something you don't like then you certainly won't go wrong with the Epiphone. Hope this helps! :)
Probucker pickups on the Epi Custom Pro are pretty weak, especially on the bridge pickup, which is anemic-sounding...I have mine upgraded to Mojotone Hot PAF... also own a 2016 50's Tribute...the 498T/492R are beefier on the low end and mid frequencies.
I bought this guitar last weekend and I agree it is amazing. Unfortunately as expected I plan to ditch the Deluxe Tuners which absolutely will not stay in tune but for a song or two at the most. Why Gibson wants to use this junk on such a great guitar I just don't understand.
Lubricate the nut and saddles, and tuning stability shouldn't be a problem. I have the same guitar and have no problems after I did just what I said to do.
+Ben Elmer Yeah it's still a tough decision to make ... a $600 MiM Fender or $900 Gibson ? Does the Gibson come with anything in the package when purchased ?
My '16 GT came with a soft case, paperwork and a picture of my guitar on the Gibson guys setup bench. Already have a Tele so it was an easy decision for me. Spend the extra scratch on the Gibson, these guitars are impressive at this price point.
I own an American Strat, an MiM Strat, a 2011 Les Paul Standard, and the 50s Tribute Les Paul--among other guitars--and I have fallen in love with the 50s Tribute's neck! You would think the thicker neck would slow you down, but that is just not the case: it is SO comfortable to play!
guitarist 22 Yes absolutely!! I can play anything on this, seriously!!! I love playing blues on it, but I was also in a hard rock covers band and we also did some metal and it sounded killer! 🤘
guitarist 22 Yes, a dozen times now, very comfortable to play. I prefer a slightly chunkier neck and this isn't ridiculously big so It just fits perfectly in your hands. And the tone is just beautiful!

They're great guitars! The amp is great as well, I can play anything from blues to heavy metal on it thanks to the tone shift acting as a HPF!
Sounds good, thanks for sharing 😊
Wow ! Nice demo !
Sounds Great and love your
"Phantom of the Opera".👍👍
I have the same guitar with a 490t pickup but i like it with the 498t as well.
Awesome stuff man. I just ordered a 2017 50s tribute from Guitar Center and I also have a DSL100H. Glad to know it'll sound great.
Marty Cray awesome stuff man, do a demo and let me know how it sounds!
I have this same guitar in Honeyburst. You don't play that 50s profile neck; you make love to it!
Thank you for sharing this, btw awsome playing sir, im planning to buy this guitar.
Thank you very much, means a lot to hear positive comments! And it is definitely worth the purchase, you get a lot of guitar for not a lot of money!
It sounds pretty damn good
Cheers!
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. NO WAY

saw the slipknot poster and was about to get the hell outta here, but you surprised me with that damn tasty clean playing
AWESOME!!!! Is that considered the T model?
GOOD CHOICE OF DONT CRY! GOOD LAD
Simzoid cheers man!

For an extra hundred or so... get the real damn thing... spending 750+ on an Epiphone is just dumb...
You have to have a pick guard on a Paul bro, just have to for that sweet bad ass look.
David moeller Gotta say it depends on the colour of the LP to me, but everyone has their own taste :)
what riff is it beginning at 1:45?
Iron Maiden- Phantom of the opera :)
I bought this guitar last weekend and I agree it is amazing. Unfortunately as expected I plan to ditch the Deluxe Tuners which absolutely will not stay in tune but for a song or two at the most. Why Gibson wants to use this junk on such a great guitar I just don't understand.
I don't find the tuning stability to be that bad, but it's by no means perfect!
It's a price point thing. Easily fixed with upgraded tuner.
Lubricate the nut and saddles, and tuning stability shouldn't be a problem. I have the same guitar and have no problems after I did just what I said to do.
What riff is that at 3:20?
Genesis Alvarado It's just some improv :)
Man I'm really torn between this and a Fender MiM strat ... I don't know which to choose.
Mate starts are a lovely guitar, but personally I'd always choose a les paul, I just find they're a bit more versatile :)
+Ben Elmer Yeah it's still a tough decision to make ... a $600 MiM Fender or $900 Gibson ? Does the Gibson come with anything in the package when purchased ?

+liljgoneman Wow, I could definitely go for that and I probably will buy a strat sometime from now.

Hi, What reverb do you use? thanks
Henry Fkng Hi there! the reverb used is just the one on my amp, which is a Marshall DSL 100!
Great sound! ;) Thx
would you recomend it as a good guitar for someone and for songs like rock and hard rock
guitarist 22 Yes absolutely!! I can play anything on this, seriously!!! I love playing blues on it, but I was also in a hard rock covers band and we also did some metal and it sounded killer! 🤘
Ben Elmer have you use it live
guitarist 22 Yes, a dozen times now, very comfortable to play. I prefer a slightly chunkier neck and this isn't ridiculously big so It just fits perfectly in your hands. And the tone is just beautiful!
Ben Elmer i want to buy one but i dont know which color i like the black the goldtop and the honeyburst
guitarist 22 I've always had a soft spot for goldtop guitars, whatever the brand, so for me it was easy;)
這支型號有出霧面的?
是的,沒有約束力或光澤!
