- Dave has been acting suspicious, he's upto something and in this video we get the BIG reveal.(more money spent).
After too many weeks at home we are finally getting ready to leave. We pack the van and Helen's new 12volt hairdryer is causing a problem with the electrics. If you have any advice on this, please leave a comment.

Evening All
Chuck the hair dryer in the bin , the 12v socket has blown because the dryer is or will melt the wires, if you carry on using it , that socket is really for charging mobile phones. Dry your hair in the car that should be ok , just check in the hand book what rating the fuse is before hand

We're off to Eye Kettleby Lakes for our maiden caravan trip in two weeks. The only thing that makes me anxious is leaving the house unattended as the next door neighbour got burgled last year when they were away in their static. I have installed a comprehensive Ring alarm/camera system but it still leaves me nervous. Love the tips and the graphics look good. Shame I retired 3 months ago as I could have done you them as it was my job, signwriting by trade then computer graphics for the signage industry. Oh well, hope to see you at Kelmarsh Hall :)
Hi Guys, it’s something you have to consider, we had the same concerns but we really couldn’t put anymore safeguards in place and it’s why we have insurance. Fact is, you can feel like a prisoner in your own house sometimes and life is for living. Yes we’re really looking forward to it at Kelmarsh, should be fun 👍👍👍
We use a gas kettle all the time on the electric hob.

Love this packing up the van type video, I'm nosey so it's fun to see others doing it. Have those same bubble wrap bottle holders, think it was packaging from somewhere but they're brilliant. Just the one bottle of red though?! Off to Argyll for Easter next week, can't wait! You've reminded me to double check the first aid supplies.

It’s good to be organised Dave & Helen. Gail has a 1200w mains travel hair dryer which is great but not much use off grid unless you’ve a power bank. Camera is a nice touch to keep an eye on Bella 👍. Gail has one to keep an eye on her mum who had to have broadband to connect it, but it’s peace of mind for Gail especially when we’re on holiday. You won’t lose sight of your caravan on a busy rally field with that flag 😂 . All the best, Rob & Gail

Hi Dave, I think that 10amp is the maximum for the CBE 12 volt lighter sockets. I had one melt a bit when I used an air awning pump, it also had a 15amp fused supply to the locker socket, not sure what the wiring is rated for in your caravan, but I used 27amp rated cable direct from the battery when I fitted the socket in the locker. Will be fitting higher rated one at some point.

You said that you changed your mattress in your van. What did you change it to. We find that the mattress in our van is very hard. Thanks Dave.

We picked our first awning up from our caravan dealer when we bought our first caravan but found a brilliant camping shop (Norwich Camping) which is close to us with an amazing range of awnings and canopy’s. Yes we have camped at The Willows and Dakota park and Vulcans rest. We are staying at the garden campsite end of August thanks to a vlog you did we do like that end of the country 😊

Please please put the 10A fuse back in there. It is rated 10A to protect the wiring in your 'van. Drawing more through is risking a fire in the wiring and serious damage. The hairdrier is rated too high for the 'van sockets. You might be able to use it in the car of the sockets there are rated higher, but it will never get that hot on 12V.

The 12 volt issue I've had with a plug in vac and it kept blowing the fuse maybe I'll try a bigger fuse as mine is 10 amp.
Could you please tell me where you got your pole bracket/spike from as it would be great for my pole.

Hi Craig, yes we use two phones so hotspot one to the camera and watch with the other phone. We also use site WiFi if available but we don’t get a signal 100% of the time. Cheers Dave & Helen 👍
