    I love how you always explain why you use the process that you use and why you use the products that you use. The blue floral is beautiful.

    A HUGE thank you. I have seen a few "iron" methods and your instructions are by far the best and simplest to follow. I super appreciate it. Thank you for making this video and for teaching us.

    Hello. I just found your channel and was so excited to try your method. Not sure where I went wrong, but my napkin started bubbling right after I stopped ironing. This is before any varnish as well. I painted my tile, applied the Mod Podge, let it dry and then ironed on the napkin. Has this ever happened to you?

    Varnish is a completely different product. The issue just mentioned is why I am watching this. I was wondering if you could avoid the top coat all together and skip to the sealer. I think you may have answered my question will will have to wa8t and see with my next project

    Can you use any of the different Mod Podge with the iron method

  • @lizvanwessem2055
    @lizvanwessem2055 4 года назад

    Great technique! The only time I've ever seen napkins and ironing before is with clingfilm between the napkin and surface area, the heat of the iron melts the cling film (aka Saran wrap) and bonds the napkin to the surface. Would your method work with paper or card, i wonder? (I'm a junk journalist!) Will have to give it a try!! Thank you!

    • @IvetaZiedina
      @IvetaZiedina  4 года назад +1

      oh Gosh that sounds very stinky! Can't imagine cling film smelling too well when it melts :D Hmm that's a good question, I haven't tried it on card but I think it should work, always best to try on something you dont mind getting ruined! :D

    • @lizvanwessem2055
      @lizvanwessem2055 4 года назад

      @@IvetaZiedina got to be honest, you don't melt it that much! There are videos showing how it works. I did it once before deciding it wasn't for me, it takes ages to actually heat up enough to bond the two materials together. I'll have to give your technique a go when i get a bit of time. It might actually help with another issue - because modgepodge is water based, any card or paper has a tendency to curl when dry. A lot of the time with journals that isn't a problem - we coffee or tea dye paper, after all, we're all about the crinkle factor! - but there are times when we want card to remain flat so that's why i was also interested to hear about the varnish. But then there times we want wrinkles in napkins. They age documents wonderfully, or give a great sense of texture, and then you can go over them with distress ink and a sponge.... 🙂 Worth thinking about for 'aged' frames maybe....!!

    Hi thank you for great video, I’m a newbie at this so haven’t really started yet. Could you use your water technique for this using the varnish that’s in your coaster video. Thank you xx

    • @IvetaZiedina
      @IvetaZiedina  4 года назад

      You could definitely use the water technique instead, I would have used it myself but I wanted to show another way of applying the napkin that's all :)

    I tried your water technique on my coasters. When I was patient it worked on two. When I hurried up the next two had tears and bubbles and creases AFTER I varnished the finished items. Sad.

  • @michellenielsen28

    How do I fix bubbles after I had done this?
    I mean I did the same steps but when I did a top coat with modpodge I had lots of bubbles come up and now it looks wrinkled after it’s dry...
