omg! when i was in little mermaid mainstage, all my friends and i would watch what was happening on the little tv they had showing what was happening onstage, and we would recreate whatever scene it was.
I remember in my drama clubs performance of Oklahoma, I played Jud Fry and I was backstage with two other people and we were miming the entire Surrey with a Fringe on Top
Oh my gosh yes! I am playing Sandy in my school's production of SpongeBob, and right before my cue pearl is singing Daddy knows best, and one half is always trying not to laugh, and the other half is trying to stop them from laughing but they are about to burst out laughing as well 😂
The matilda one made me so happy, first time ive ever seen mention of the escapologist because the character wasn't in the movie. Proud to have played the escapologist!

If you guys ever do the shake my hand in character especially in a school production either don’t make it obvious or get everyone in the cast because being the background character when I was in high school and seeing the seniors do this hurt because I wanted to be part of something so bad. Also the band teacher’s daughter got the lead so there’s no way that wasn’t rigged. (I was friends with his other daughter and I went to her house and he even said it)
FR!! In my schools musical this year i was literally in the crowd while they were doing these sorta things and was like "make sure i go :))" and one of my friends even planned something for me (we were doing the passing the phone thingy) yet they still ignored me just because i wasnt a main part
The cast member @2:35 is getting high. This becomes exceedingly more common as you transition in to university theatre. Once you’ve reached pro theatre EVERYONE’s getting high but everyone remembers the choreo. 😂
When I was a rising freshman in high school I went to a week-long theater camp at UNCSA (I live like 7 minutes away from there) and we learned the dance for Revolting Children and we learned "you will be found." That was actually the first time I learned about Dear Evan Hansen and the first song from that one that I had ever listened to, and then almost a year and a half later, my sister and I convinced our parents to let us go see it on tour!
I was always more with the tech group, but always thought theatre looked fun. But then again I don't do dancing so oh well. still looked like they were having fun.
2:06 No, the funniest musical to do in middle school is the Addams Family young @ part because Wednesday has to call her father Gomez "daddy" a lot, which made everyone laugh everytime she said it. And there is a part in the show where pugsley is getting torcherd by Wednesday, and later in the show he askes Wednesday "so your still going to torcher me?" and Wednesday goes "sure, until you get a girl of your own" which if you were older you laugh but leave the younger kids confused.
Oh my god… just found this again. We performed a few months ago and I was cast as pugsley(!!!!!!) And it wasn’t the Wednesday calling Gomez “daddy” (although the girl who played Wednesday kept giggling during practice when she had to say that) but what was worse for me specifically is the bed time story scene when I had to call Mortica “Mommy”. I ended up not saying it for two of the times and it wasn’t noticeable but yeah, the torture line in the show also got quite a few laughs. Had so much fun playing him! Was a wonderful show and made me laugh seeing this comment again. :)
I played Sven in frozen in middle school and the memories of dancing the love is an open door choreo with my bestie Olaf backstage will never leave my mind
I remember when I first tried out for my school's drama club. We are doing the production of The Wizard of Oz. I auditioned for dorothy, but I got casted for the wicked witch of the West. It was a good role. This video brings back so many memories.
The into the woods was so nostalgic (I was little red when I was a little kid) and we did the full version of the show instead of the jr version and it was sooo hard. I would totally play that role again im a huge Sondheim fan
12:50 This happened to almost everyone in my Alice in wonderland play, when my song didn’t come in time I just started tap dancing as the caterpillar until the song came on lol
Every Single time my audition goes wrong i get a role. I had a voice crack and forgot half of the song for my audition for danny zuko and still got a role 💀don't give up lads.
12:58 my high school still used karaoke tracks. I got creative and slowed my lines down and repeated a lot of stuff since they never turned the track on in time.
1:59 as someone who was in the suessical i love this. The memories of doing exaggerated dances during amazing mayzie with my insane whoville cone hair is amazing
when the girl was talking abt hoe many times Ariel has said "daddy" so many times it gives me flashbacks from backstage of Mary Poppins. before bows, Jane would say "daddy" so many times and half of the cast would be laughing and the other half would be so confused. 😭💀😂
Y’all I’m so excited! My school play is getting the the people who help with our local musical production (who is REALLY good) to help with costumes and backdrops!!!!

Lmao after my middle school did Highschool Musical when we got back to school we all started pointing out everything about the show legit blowing up 😂😂
My highlight when I was 9 years old I did an intern show for my local theatre and one of the leads in the other play couldn't make it to the dress rehearsal so one of the stage mangers stood on stage pretending to be the person not knowing any of the words meanwhile someone read the script from backstage😂😂
The girl in I think it was beetlejuice was so good and then the kid behind her just didn’t care and it’s kinda sad that there are kids who don’t care and the the ones that are putting their entire being into the show
Was it the one where she was singing “pulled in a new direction”? Cause that’s from Addams family the musical and that is what he’s supposed to do. Pugsley is tied to a rack ( torture device) and is kinda stuck there. I do admit that I would expect a little more energy but it was probably a directors choice.
POV: you were Ariel in your middle school’s production of The Little mermaid and your bf at the time was king triton
