    First one is actually funny because of the fact Hamilton was a great marksman in real life yet lin-Manuel is a ray of sunshine

    For context, I live in Britain. It's so nice to see so many people involved in theatre, because I feel in british schools that is dying out a lot. Our prchestra for musicals is averaging 10 people, which is a record in my school since covid. They are msotly all Grade 2 or 3, and the cast for musicals is mostly year sevens whi have never done it before then don't come back for the next one because they got bored halfway through. It's so refreshing to see school musicals thriving in American high schools.

      We’re always watching >:)
      (If I’m being real tho, it’s pretty easy to detect. Like it knew I was a theater kid because I was searching stuff up like mean girls, heathers, and Hamilton. But, if you wanna start doing theater we’re happy to have you! It’s a big community and you’ll make friends fast! We’d love to have you!

      @@fandomwhat oh I'm definitely entering theatre! I'll probably never do an onstage role but I signed up for technical theatre for the next school year which I'm excited about lol. Happy to be in the community now!

      @@eyesleerage64 I’ve actually always wanted to do tech but I’ve never done it. At the place where I do theater (not my school), there are many interesting things. A lot of moving parts like we made a fake train for Anastasia! (It was scary)

    Calling all the theater kids! I have an audition for scuttle from the little mermaid coming up and I need help developing the character! Can anyone with experience with or around the character leave tips? (THIS IS MY DREAM ROLE AHH)

    • @CinLightweaver-kk5uo
      @CinLightweaver-kk5uo День назад +1

      First of all Chookas! You’ll be amazing!
      For the audition, make sure you know your material and have warmed up sufficiently beforehand. Make sure you remember that the audition starts as soon as you enter the building, be positive (a negative mindset can really impact your performance) and kind to everyone (this is good anyway but you never know whose watching. Directors want good people they can work with as well as talent)
      For the character I recommend reading the full script if you can and trying to think about how Scuttle would react to different scenarios, whether they‘re in the script or not.
      Try not to watch other people’s performances and make it your own if possible.
      If you want to do a character voice and feel confident, go for it! But don’t over do it so you can no longer be understood (this happens a lot with animal characters like scuttle and Iago)
      If you aren’t feeling a character voice yet, don’t do it. Try to still be interesting and the engaging.
      Remember it doesn’t have to be perfect, it’s an audition and if you are fortunate enough to get the role you will have time to farmiliarise yourself with how you want to play your character and tweak your performance.
      Most importantly, have fun!!!
      (Sorry that was long, hope it helped a bit)

      Make sure your song fits the character! Since it’s scuttle make sure the song is atleast a little energetic! The directors and important people also part of the show need to see that you can portray your character in every way! So do a little acting while you sing and make sure you do what you think is right for the character! Good luck, sending positive vibes!

    • @fandomwhat
      @fandomwhat  День назад +1

      Omg first time EVER? That’s exciting!!
      TIPS:
      1. Make sure to add some small acting bits to whatever song you’re singing, a big part of theater is
      that the people watching you need to know is that you can act and sing at the same time.
      2. Make sure to thank the pianist after if you gave them sheet music to use!
      3. Have your song match the role/show you’re auditioning for!
      HAVE A GREAT TIME!
