@@TunisiaAli I always emphasize that to people (and on my FB page). People have a tendency to think that no one is interested or needs to hear their story. For fear that people will “judge “ them, not knowing that it can help or encourage someone (which it’s meant to do).
I enjoy watching your videos, I've had Sisterlocks since August of this year and started using oil during the second month after my sister stated my hair was cute but looked dry. You definitely vibrate on a high frequency and I absolutely love it! 🥰 . I agree with you .. I love my sisterlocs; yet, knew early on, my hair needed oils to maintain strength, health, moisture and overall integrity of my loc journey. I generally color 2 times a year so, yes, our hair needs moisture and protein to thrive. Also, I live in the north (Michigan) so the colder weather also gives a beating on my hair. Hey Tunisia great video. So true what you say regarding the care of our locs and the need to oil them with quality oils. I nearly gave myself a headache because I was nodding my head in agreement to virtually all the great points and observations you made throughout this video👏🏾 (I've had SLs for just over 6yrs and been solidly colouring my hair for the last 20yrs or more.) Also I can so relate to all your points relating to communication between us and our children. I admire the way you was able to observe your response to your daughter, identify your ego at play and do something about it👏🏾I have 2 older boys and just my 15yr old daughter still at home with me. She's a shy person with a beautiful heart (with the added bonus benefits of growing up closely, until the beginning of this year, with her 2 older very loving brothers who also act like her guardians) and I'm also trying to teach her how to negotiate her way out 'there'. We had a similar issue with my communication skills/her teenage assuming and sensitivities just recently, but I confess I could've handled it a whole lot better than I did at the time🙈. We did sort it out in the end. But you just crystallised a better method of recognising and isolating the mummy ego so that I can hear and see my daughter's point of view more clearly and with more patience. Hi I love your videos and I thank you so much for sharing I’ve been natural over 10 years I know how to grow my hair I finally got sisterlocs 3 weeks ago my loctician don’t want me to use oil for at least a year this is not going to happen I also have a oil mixture that I use have been growing my hair for years what can I do I don’t want her to feel I don’t trust her she said if I use oil she would charge me more because she can tell if I use oil on my hair
Oh Gosh! Consider waiting a bit longer if possible. Sounds like she's not saying totally No, but to wait likely because she thinks you may use slippage. U could give it a try and just make sure you use a clarifying shampoo or do an occasional ACV rinse when you reti. Or you could just do what you want. Smile.
I’m going on three years I have terrific growth but my scalp is so itchy a lot. My loctician told me not to put oil in my hair and advised me to use sea breeze, but sea breeze dries me out
