A great way for your son to learn a valuable lesson in life. Natural consequences for an innocent mistake. Great dad and son teamwork.

Husband called a garage door technician to check the same issue we have, and the guy said the door needs to be replaced. Our door is not even that bad. Thanks for your video. Some will try to cheat you if you don't know any better.

EXCELLENT video. We have the EXACT same problem. It was great that you had Bob Vila to help you.

Ha! Now that I've seen how flexible my particular garage doors are, I think they could maybe be straightened without disassembling them. It really took a lot less force to adjust the bowed door than I used at first. Thank you for watching and commenting.

@@manabouthome I REALLY don't want to disassemble my bottom panel. I'm NO expert. In a few words, how might you bend it back to straight without taking it off. I assume I'd still have to take off the weather seal and remove the bottom aluminum strip to straighten that separately. Mine is not bent as much as yours was. Thank you.

That's a good question. I don't know your particular situation. But, my door proved to be more flexible than I would have thought it would be. Some possibilities: 1. Maybe try simply muscling it back into shape with just your hands at first. Throw your weight into it... see if that makes any difference at all. 2. After it's as straight as you can get it by hand, maybe sandwich it between 2x4s and squeeze the entire sandwich with some clamps? See if that flattens it out at all. 3. I'm limited in what I can say, because other, more forceful methods, could cause more damage.

Yeah. It was like an oven in there, on that sunny Summer day. The door got direct Sun and it was too hot to touch! Thank you for watching...

    That is the driver’s fault.

Ultimately, yes. However, there's no getting around the fact that this wouldn't have happened if not for the kid's inappropriate actions. They both accepted their share of the responsibility for this.
