2020 Iconic Silver STX. Just bought the other day and I’m loving it.
Got a white STX 4x4 yesterday nice mods and tint you got on yours
Same, just bought 2020 Iconic Silver STX FX4 last month. Great off road.
Yeah I just got the 2.7 2020 XLT Crew cab. First truck loving it so far.
I got a 2017 2.7liter and been looking for some good tips on mods. I too have two kids so saving money is a big deal. Your video was very informative, thanks! Oh and you got a pretty kick ass truck too!
Excellent, it is nice to hear people get something out of it. Enjoy your truck they are fun functional toys! Ha ha ha
Nice truck, the wheel liners for the rear is a nice addition vs painting the rear wheel wells.
I'm putting a 6 inch lift on 35s on 22 inch rims(which is why I need the 6 inch lift) I dont tow or haul so I dont care for what people say but awesome to know you got 35s with no issues on it.
That would a going to look good!
2019 stx here velocity blue
Great video. I just bought a silver 2020 STX super cab 2.7 on the 1st. Although my floorboards will never see the traffic yours do, regularly, I want the carpet well protected. Great recommendation. That's exactly what I was looking for. They look great. I really like them. I think they look better then Weathertech personally.I actually paused your video, got on amazon and ordered a set. One of the last two sets, supposedly. I came back, started watching it again and you mentioned something I should have but didn't think of, a catch can. And I completely agree. Those water/oil vapors do have a corrosive affect on the valves and the valve seats over time. Anyway, thank you so much for the video You saved me a fair amount of time looking for good liners and reminded of something important. A like and subscription done. Thanks again.
Awesome!! Thanks for the kind words and that was my intent with the channel just a regular dude giving honest reviews and trying to keep some things on a budget. Thanks again and enjoy the truck!! Hope to have more videos up soon.
Ride The Earth My new Max Liner floor mats arrived yesterday. And yes, they fit perfectly and look great. Couldn’t be more pleased. 👍 BTW, If you have any interest in installing just some new LED headlights in your stock housings, check out F150LEDS.COM. I just installed a set of theirs. Talk about a night, lit by a candle, and day difference. Love the black and white look of your truck. Wanted a white one myself to match my 95 300 ZX TT (ruclips.net/video/ICeHJKnrhskb/видео.htmlut ) but I got to good a deal on my silver STX to pass up.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸TRUMP2020🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
2019 XTR in Magma Red. Headlights dims, brights, and fog lights are now LED. Way better than stock.
Taillights and reverse lights are also LED
Awesome yes I did the same, actually sold the 2019 to buy a 2017 3.5 ecoboost. Needed more payload for my hauling.
Just got 2019 stx 2.7 and love it. Stealing your tailgate assist idea, bed lights, and those max liners! (When I can save back up lol)
And VTA 😅
Excellent!! enjoy! glad you got something out of the video. and yeah the VTA is probably the most fun and cheapest out of all that. ha ha ha
@@RideTheEarthnow thanks buddy!
I had 2018 3.5 all the same engine mods you have pulse a “turbo silencer delete”, 4inch cat back exhaust with a 5inch single tip setup and a Tune. In my opinion the exhaust with the intake and turbo sounds,,, All together sound awesome!
Nice, what brand exhaust?
Pypes,, easy install in my driveway no jacks
Nice, I live 30 minutes from them and use to work right down the road from them.
Mine is a 2018 STX SuperCrew 4x4. I have the same 2.7L ecoboost. I recently saw a 2021 and I have to say as far as the front grill goes, we got the better deal. I haven't done any mods yet, but I have put new floor mats in it. Mine are Lasfits. Just as good as weathertech at half the price. I will get around to mods down the road. Right now the payment takes up most of my play money so it will take a while to save up. I haven't been able to try out the 4wd yet but soon enough. If you see a magma red STX with NC plates with a lot of similar mods. It might be me.
I think the 2018- 2019 are the best looking F-150s to date
My local body shop blacked out my taillights, third brake light and head lights for 300$. I then added LED bulbs and you can see just fine.
Nice, good to know.
I had a little midlife crisis with my 17. Did bumpers grille head and tail lights fox rough country vortex coil overs and shocks clazzio leather seat covers wheels and 35s linkswell Tesla head unit husky Matt’s tyger armor step bars chase rack with spare carrier covert cab bags (these are awesome and fit perfectly under the back seat and easy to pull out) remote start rough country exhaust. I have an XL super crew. I would love to do some stuff with the engine but daily driver and don’t want to lose dependability
Awesome sounds nice!!!
Dont plasti-dip your wheel wells, just use some undercoating or bed liner like raptor liner...
The 2018 2.7 now has both direct and port fuel injection negating the need for catch can.
I know I read that, doesn't hurt to have it, and it was definitely catching stuff. Thanks.
Nice truck! Very informative vid on the mods. Take care.
Thanks🤘🤘yours looks good too!
Visor Down! Just found your channel, heck yeah
Never heard of monster energy rims before
Me neither ha ha ha
I think gravel guard would be better for wheel liners. Or buy them from husky. I did, very nice look and really feels like I'm protecting my truck
Totally agree, I have some Husky ones from amazon on my short list to buy. Way better than plasti dipping them.
Have a lot of the same mods on my '15 XLT with 2.7. Couldn't agree with you more in ref to the Max Liner floor mats. Same purpose as the Weather Techs for about half the price!
Husky liner beeen better
Nice .... do you have a video on the oil catch can and why you chose the one you did?
This is the same one I had on my 2.7, I have the 3.5 ecoboost now. Some say you don't need them on the newer Ford's, but I will say when I had it on my 2.7 it was definitely catching alot of stuff. So I say it is worth it. I picked this one because of the price and the ease of install. ruclips.net/video/sAtHkK_lRnw/видео.html
For 2018 2.7 ecoboosts you do not need a catch can. The dual injection (port-side) cleans off the intake valves and the oil is just burned off during normal combustion. I just don't know it its worth the hassle.
It was an easy install and didn't hurt anything , plus there was alot of junk in it when I empty it, so it is catching stuff. Needed on not needed it is doing something good 👍
Nice truck. I have a 2019 STX. Some mods already done.
Excellent, enjoy! They are very capable and fun!!
2020 xlt rapid red & I love it
The catch can is irrelevant because the 2018 2.7 has port and direct injectors which keeps the valves clean.
Glad to hear it but it does catch alot of stuff so no harm in having it either.
Well it did catch some oily watery residue in it. So it’s obvi doing something nignog
Catch works if you actually keep the truck not trade it every two years
Thanks for the dip tip.
🤘
Have the SPE Diff Kit and it is awesome!
Nice stickers lol
I’m digging it man. I’ve got the exact same truck but in blue. They’re fun projects!
Nice and thanks, enjoy it. Definitely a large bucket to throw money at ha ha ha.
Great video. Sick truck dude! Did you program the wireless keypad yourself? Amazon reviews say guys are having to take it to the dealer for programming for ~$130
Thanks, and yeah unfortunately you have to take it to the dealer to have them program it to your truck then you can do your own personal code after that. I think if you have forscan might be able to do it yourself? That is just here say, I don't know for sure though.
Somebody may have asked but I didnt see it - any rubbing on your tires? Or did you have to do any trimming?
19 STXhere, thanks for the video man, I have a white truck too. Enjoy!
12” rims? 😅
2018 stx here shadow black
Wondering if your back window tint is 15% or 20%. I'll be tinting my front 2 windows and my back window looks like more than 20% that is why. Thanks. I have 2018 xlt 3.5 supercrew
I went with 15% on the front because it was a very close match. Not sure exactly what the rear is, I didn't have them meter it. 20% on the front would have looked too light in my opinion. But that is just personal preference. 👍. My last truck 2010 f150 fx4 onhad 15% on the front then had them do an extra 5% on all the back ones, that was deft darker. If yours is lighter that is an option you can do.
Buy the black wheel wale liner on amazon, easy installation
Thanks that is definitely on my list.
miss my crewcab. had to get a supercab cause i had nothing to pick from in september cause of covid and production stopped for the 2021 models. worked out ok tho didnt get everytihng i wanted but got a 2020 stx with the special edition package. and for the remote start just use your phone app its free
Nice, I bought the supercab and realized with 2 young kids it wasn't going to work out. Luckily the dealer got in a supercrew and I was able to switch. Enjoy your truck.
@@RideTheEarthnow i dont have kids i use the back as more of dry storage but the fact i have to open the front door to open the back door is so annoying. if fird had 4door handles like ram and gm it would be so much better
@@buffalobmf agreed!!
Where can you purchase the exterior wireless keypad?
sorry for the very late reply. i missed your comment. you can get them from ford: accessories.ford.com/products/keyless-entry-keypad-for-vehicles-without-factory-remote-start-2
or other places a bit cheaper online.
What you talking bout the monster logo is the best looking part on the truck
😆
Good day ! Question for you. I see you installed a keypad door opener next to the driver's mirror. I have one and did the dealer program it for you ? Wondering how I should go by getting it programmed. Thx !
Yes I had to have the dealer program it for me. I think.it cost 90 bucks? I know some have done it themselves with the Forescan but I am not positive.
@@RideTheEarthnow Thank you !
How does your truck tow with the 2.7 ? How much weight is your trailer. Nice review thanks. JJ
The travel trailer was 4000lbs give or take loaded with gear and a full truck with wood, generator 4 bikes and 2 adults 2 kids. It towed great! I did get rid of it for the 3.5 ecoboost but that was more about payload rather than towing. A little about towing because.we just got a bigger camper 6600lbs. What are ypu planning on towing with the 2.7?
Nice!
Those monster logos actually give 50 extra horsepower each, jk nice truck man
I couldn't handle the extra power. Ha ha ha thanks
I have a similar truck. 2020. I want to add puddle lights to the side mirrors, any ideas?
Sorry, nothing comes to mind. Google search would be your best bet on that one. Sorry no help.
how do you program that keypad ? mind making a video also link for it no longer works
originally you have to have the dealer program it to your truck unless you have forscan and know how to use it. after it is set up for your truck then you can put in your custom code.
Matte black your gas tank door. Looks good.
Digging your set up I'm about to pull the trigger on my stx 2wd and go pro comp wheels 35x12.5x17 tires leveled out...has a beltech drop...i hate the ride I'll cut my losses....how did it ride without the road master??
Rode well, not harsh at all.
Did you cut the crash bars ?
I pressed them with a porta power and there was no rubbing. 0 offset wheels. I did have to press them 2 times because they started to bend back into shape after the first time.
@@RideTheEarthnow how long did it take before they started bending...I'm woundering how high I got to undo the body bolts to swap them side to side....I work at a dealer the body shop guys have the port a power I can use as needed
@@RideTheEarthnow I could probably bend them and have someone weld some kind of brace to keep them in bent position
What size wheels are those ?
35x12.5 on 17s with a zero offset.
Hey man is that driving footage in Plymouth Meeting?
Ha ha good eye!
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩👍🏽
Wow no dislikes...? K, watching now lol
Ha ha ha right.. there is always someone out there that doesn't like something ha! Hope you enjoyed.
Hi I have a 2 wheel drive
2019 ecoboost 2.7
Question. Did u change gear ration on your truck after you mounted the
35 inch tires?
The 2.7 has plenty of pep, didn't notice much power loss i had 3.55 gears. So I wouldn't spend the money on that. It is different in a 6cyl jeep or something that doesn't have much power. You obviously can if you are looking to race and want a super fast truck but for every day use you are good to go. Just my opinion though take it or leave it :)
Has your oil pan given you any problems yet?
nope, but I only owned the truck for 21K miles. I have since gotten a 2016 3.5 ecoboost
how difficult was it to install a remote start? i want to do it to mine for the hot summer! thanks.
Very easy. Took about 15 minutes.
It was plug and play just unplug one harness and plug the remote start, inline and you are done.
@@RideTheEarthnow video please
@@albertsilva4057 I will see what i can do, it is already installed. 👍
@Shawn Evans I wish I did but nope, just bought the one from Amazon I have listed in the video description. Works well🤘
Plasti dip was a dumb idea it will peel off and looks horrible when it does. Not a fan of the blue rings it doesn’t match anything black would have been better. I do like the intake and the oil catcher and lego man.
Ha ha ha thanks for your critique, very helpful, glad you took the time to tell me those things in such a nice, positive and constructive way. I have had nothing but positive results from Plastidip, maybe you are doing it wrong? Also thank you for sharing your opinion on the color blue.
Did you forget to link the raptor steering wheel?
No, didn't forget, I bought it on eBay and didn't want to put in an eBay link because in week or day it would be a broken link.
Ride The Earth eBay will still show the same or similar items actively being sold.
@@TheShagans @The Cafe’d Racer www.ebay.com/itm/401568594166 I paid $225
I just bought the same wireless keypad from my local dealership but I’m having issues programming it to my 2019 f150 STX. Did you take it to the dealership or did you DIY?
Yes the dealership has to program it to the number on your truck first then you can set up your personal codes. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
Ride The Earth no worries. Thanks for the help!
3020 xlt rapid red it is a amazing I love
Clearly your tires will bottom out without much effort on your front wheel wells..
Nope they were alright. Nothing too crazy but I did push it a bit. I save the serious stuff for the quad.
Did you cut crash bars to fit tires
How did you fit 35's on there? Looks like you didn't have to cut anything either
The wheel offset is 0, and I have a 2.5" bds level. I would have had to take out the crash bars but I rented a Portapower hydraulic jack/ram. Put that in the wheel well and pressed the crash bars forward and away. It worked for a while but now i am getting a bit of rub when i turn full to either side and hit a bump. It seems like they crash bars came back a bit. just need to press them out again. You can always remove them like everyone else but i feel like the crash bars are important.

By any chance do you have the link to the ape full lock diff kit?
I still haven't installed it yet, they say install is easy. I found the instructions a little confusing but I really didn't dove deep into it. www.spediesel.com/products/spe-6-7-full-lock-diff-kit.
Katzkin wey
How is the road noise with thos tires? Look good jw if they give you that off-road tire noise that bugs the heck out of me?
Thanks, so far so good. There really isn't much road noise at all. I have about 11-15k miles on these tires and rotate them when they are supposed to be. I have had some tires that were un-bearable. These are the quietest so far, as they get worn down more that will be the real test. But right now I can definitely recommend.
How did your ride change with tires and level from stock.
What size tires and offset? Do you rub?
What running boards?
All that info is in the video. :) 35x12.5 17's for the tires. 0 offset. Minor trimming and pressed the crash bars apart. Factory ford running boards.
Did that KN cold air intake void your warranty
If there is an issue and it can be tracked back to the CAI then yes it will void your warranty. Also it depends a bit on your dealer how they feel about after market stuff. I believe the Roush F150 has a CAI so they put the on trucks from the factory. I have had CAI's on countless cars and trucks, knock on wood I haven't had an issue yet. Just my insight and opinion on the matter you should be fine. Take it or leave it though.
How much did you pay for the leveling kit installation?
Install was free, I did it myself in the driveway. Sorry I know that doesn't help you ha.
Sick truck, how the reliability been?
Thanks, knock on wood, no issues to date
Works great!!
What kind of mpg were you getting with those tires?
Alot of that has to do with how the truck is driven. i am usually right around 14-14.5 but i dont drive slowly at all, highway is usually around 80 mph
Where's the link for the Lego Guy 👦 I want that little one
Ha ha ha, I stole it from my kids Lego bin.
@@RideTheEarthnow As a motorcycle rider I like that little guy
The link for the remote start thing doesn't work :/
Sorry looks like Amazon changed the link.?
@@RideTheEarthnow yeah i been trying to find it but it keeps bringing up other stuff through the search
Only time exhaust sounds good is on Harley Davidson . Trucks not so much. Actually not at all
Do the big tires on a 2.7 affect the speed of the truck?
I am sure it is slower than stock but not noticeable for me at all. Even when towing the camper.
Sick truck, thinking about getting an stx. Reviews on the ecoboost are so up and down about reliability
Thanks, yeah they are up and down for any vehicle. My other truck was a 2019 stx 2.7l ecoboost. Put 20k miles. No issues. The current one I own is a 2016 3.5l ecoboost with 61k miles on it. No issues at all.
I have a 2017 STX 2.7 with 65k on it. Not one issue so far. Just changed the battery out and it’s running strong.
Bought one a few days ago. 2019 with 18k. Its leveled,on method wheels, magnaflow exhaust, rhino lined and a retraxpro bed cover. I'm in love
What kind of mpg you seeing with the tires?
I am right around 14 mpg's. But I don't drive very slow my main work commute when I was commuting was about 25 miles each way on the highway. I wild normally set the cruise at 80. I could get in the 15's possibly 16's if I drove slower.
Is that an aftermarket steeringwheel or wrap?
It is an aftermarket wheel. Got it on eBay. Handkeafted is the maker I believe. It was just the steering wheel I s.wapped my airbag and buttons over to it. Very easy job.
2 1/2 or 2 inch lift I keep hearing different opinions on which looks more even?
I personally like the 2.5" lift. I will say thou when the truck is loaded full in the back the front is a bit higher than the back but that is only fully loaded.
2.5 will give you a more level appearance. I have bilstein 5100’s set at 2.1 (highest setting) and I still have noticeable rake. Ride is better than OEM but wish it was a little higher.
Can you repost the link to the steering wheel?
I have looked around and can't find it anymore. I bought mine off of ebay and searched there to no avail sorry.
Where did the rims go🤣😂🤣😂
Does your wheel setup rub?
I pressed the crashers out with a portapower and that gave me enough space for no rubbing. But I am sure under extreme conditions it would rub though.
Link for the keyless pad?
You have to get it programmed at the Ford dealership too. They also sell these at the dealer. ford.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/ford-keyless-entry-keypad-kb3z14a626a?origin=pla&gclid=Cj0KCQjwu7OIBhCsARIsALxCUaOAXcGVBPBjlCUcpTJqBfBshRNlC5MNJYkM3FAfrtnkTpyHXLZg17MaAgdhEALw_wcB
how did you fit 35" tires
2.5" BDS lift, and I bent the crash bars out with a port a power press.👍
how is the Roadmaster system treating you?
So far so good, the back end feels a bit tighter, I did get a little towing in with the travel trailer and hauling the atv. Things just felt tighter and more in control, less roll and squat in the back for sure. Not that they were out of control before, just feels better. Not sure if you saw but I did a vide on the suspension here ruclips.net/video/XJbI2mAeGXU/видео.html
let me know if you have any other questions.
@@RideTheEarthnow Yes the video is great with all the measurements and everything it was very informative. I just wanted to check back in with you on a week update from it. I have an older but like new tundra and it has a camper on it sags a bit before any weight is added. going to purchase these and give me that half-inch to an inch to level it out
@@Chad03Cobra Nice and thanks, my buddy has a tundra and also a caper and quad I was telling him he should get one.. I have it set on the softer setting and it does still drop a little more than i wanted but it seems once it gets to a certain point is where it really kicks in and supports. I might try the stronger setting. Good luck with it, it is super easy to install.
What is your wheel offset?
Wheel offset is 0mm
how much offset?
0 offset on the wheels.
Link for the ford wireless keypad?
no problem: accessories.ford.com/electronics/keyless-entry/actuator-asy.html
Thanks man. Also be careful with upgrading to wider offset wheels. I couldn’t fit 305/55/20 AMP AT wheels on my 0 offset wheels without rubbing on the crash bar on my 2018. Granted those are some chunky tires. I also have a 2.5” level.
@@RPM_PAT thanks. I actually took a porta power jack. Put it in the wheel well and bent the crash bars forward a bit to give me room.
so you watched the movie goony
ha ha ha, Never say Die!
7:06 where can ya get a hard cover for the engine?
The plastic cover over the engine? Did your truck not come with one? I assume the dealer would sell it. Sorry not much help there.
@@RideTheEarthnow ya no I didn't get one. I'll ask the dealer for one thnx
@@arnoldsadinmaa1443 yeah that is weird? Did you buy new fro a dealer or is the truck used. Maybe previous owner just took it off. I don't really think it serves any purpose other than looks.
@@RideTheEarthnow ya looks cleaner. I vought the 2020 Ford F-150 off the lot New 0 km. I'll ask the dealer. Is this just called engine Cover
@Arnold Sadinmaa yeah that is weird.. I did just read that 5.0's don't have them?? Is your truck a 5.0? I had a 2019 2.7 and a 2016 3.5 they both had engine covers.
Soo 18 and up 2.7 since they got the dual injection fuel system and some other part I forget they don't need a catch can like they supposedly are useless on these my bud has an 18 like mine and he bought one 2 weeks go by and nothin in the can did some research and found out the bad news for him. Waste of $$$
I hear that and I have read that but I had stuff in mine so it was doing something, I didn't feel I wasted my money. I have a 3.5 ecoboost now with one on it and that catches more for sure.
@@RideTheEarthnow ya the 3.5 will catch more just remmebr to check for timing chain knock on that 3.5 only reason why I didn't buy one
Lego guys adds like 85HP
Ha ha ha definitely does!!
Just put a flatbed on it
🤣 but what if I need to keep things dry? Ha ha
The more you use turbo boost the lower the engine life will be....
Yep sounds about right. Same with any motor turbo or not. You get on the throttle heavy you will produce more engine wear.
I was out on video as soon as I heard plasti dipped
Why the hatred for plastidip?
@@RideTheEarthnow it looks bad and most are applied poorly especially on wheels. Then it's a bitch to remove. Everyone says it peels right off. That's not true unless it is applied properly. Looks cheap

Your tires suck in snow
Oh cool thanks for your input hanha ha. I haven't found that to be the case.
what kind of mpg you getting with that level and those tires?
Not real good. Like 13.5 I don't drive slow though so I am often in the boost and very rarely in the eco. So if you are looking for good mpg numbers, don't ask me ha ha ha.
