As much as none of us enjoy trials and tribulations, it is those very things that refine and purify us! God wants us to be REAL with Him, for His glory and honor. So often we put people like the Martins on a pedestal of being above sin, pain, and having the same difficulty we have gone through ourselves. Such a beautiful testimony by Joyce that I can relate to from my own past struggles. Thank you so much for sharing....hurting people need to hear that Christians aren't perfect, but we serve a perfect Savior that will forgive our sins and cleanse us and we can once again live for Him after walking away. He's always there for us.
I appreciate their willingness to be open and honest about their struggles, especially Joyce. It isn't easy to open up but there will be so many who are struggling that can see the hope found in Jesus.
The Martin's have à GREAT MESSAGE .. I appreciate hearing their life story as many Christian families have their downfalls but Never admit any failure in church....you see my Dad was a minister in small churches. Us three daughters were taught to be perfect. My mother played the piano and taught us Christian old gospel songs. I played the guitar and sang with my older sister since I was 8 years old...In teenage years, my older sister became depressed. We lived with constant criticism by perfect dad. Mom was a great example for us but not too strong emotionally. Life falls apart. Sister felt that she committed the unpardonable sin...Today, because of Mom' love and example, WE THREE KNOW THE LORD and praise HIM daily.
I love the Martins. I remember being in the thick of it, broken and hurt, going to bed asking God a question. At about 3:30 am He woke me with He Leadeth Me playing in my heart. Precious, our Lord is so sweet, so so sweet.
A former pastor of mine Rev. David Knight preached a sermon many years ago & said, “Faith is formed in the fire.” It is not what we want to hear, but it is so true.
I’m listening to this and tearing up myself bc I’ve been that broken person with the call of God in the past 4 years. Thank you Joyce Jonathan and Judy - and Joni. This is ministering to me.
I was living in Alaska at the time and was down in Ohio visiting my mom and dad. They had really fallen in love with the Gaither videos. I first saw these kids during that visit. I do believe the music began my search for a way back to the Lord. I am so thankful for God's music and how He uses it to speak to His people.
I stumbled onto this, never heard of them….curious to know what they individually went through….any recommendations to follow up on their experiences as I feel these testimonies will help and encourage me…please and thank you!
For anyone who's been walked out on or someone divorced you even though "you" were trying with all your strength to make it work, I can tell you right now, it doesn't mean you're worthless or not pretty/handsome,and it doesn't mean you're not worth loving. I couldn't make a certain person love me either. And in the midst of my tears I found that God still loves me and wants to spend forever with me even if that person didn't. It's been almost 6 years now and I'm serving the Lord in a greater capacity than I did when I was in that oppressive situation. So, I'm praying for the broken tonight. 🙏 ❤️🩹
The Martins are friends of mine, my favorite singers, and truly some of the most down to earth, sweetest people I’ve never met. Their stories inspire me and their music has helped me through some of the darkest times of my life. I’m so glad to know them and that God continues to use them to touch other people through their music. They’re truly the best 🖤
I announced my coming divorce and testified in my church because I felt that weight of “judgment” that I might receive from church members. And praise God….He gave me that strength and people surrounded me with their love and prayers.

We love the Martins too! ❤ My husband and I, and our then-teenage son, were worshipping at the Brooklyn Tabernacle on Sunday August 4th, 2013, and these lovely siblings were doing a concert at the 3pm service! We certainly timed that right! Afterwards, we got to meet, hug them, and have photos with them. In the middle of that, our daughter back home - in Australia - called to my phone, and she was SO excited too, as she got to have a quick chat with them! I wonder if Joyce, Jonathan and Judy remember that??? ❤
Wow. For years I've enjoyed the Martins and never knew of their struggles. While I'm sorry for their struggles, I am grateful for their testimonies. I feel so encouraged and hopeful again that I am never far from God's grace. Thanks for sharing so openly. May God continue to bless your combined ministries and Joni's as well.

I had the opportunity to hear you when you were so young that your mother was traveling with you. It was in a little country church somewhere in Soddy Daisy, TN. You were and have been a blessing to me since. Hugs and prayers.
I was a little older than Joyce’s kids when she left them. I remember feeling heartbroken for them, especially the little girl who had special needs ❤️ they attended our church for years. Her ex husband passed away a few years ago, he was a really sweet man, thankful he got his life back in line with the Lord after all they went through. Find it odd that she didn’t mention his passing. He was a great dad to those kids and it really was a miracle given the situation they were left in.

Thanks Jesus I'm broken because of divorce. I was rejected by my friends and still are but there is life. The part I find difficult are the vows I made that I have broken? I know He can forgive and heal.
I would love to spread hope through my new book I have written for women/mothers. So many have been through heartache and I want those hurting to know that there is hope and new life after heartache. Can I share my new book?
Joni please don’t try to make someone else’s divorce story justify what you did with Doug. He had zero biblical grounds for divorce and you should have waited to marry him. I still don’t see what the rush was. He will never be yours. He belongs to his first wife biblically. He should man up and just confess his sin of dumping his wife so that he could be with you. At least that would be honest.
HONESTLY! The best policy in every situation! Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
