Just a little correction but Stimpaks are not the chem that replaced Morphine, that would be Med-X.
Also, if you ever revisit Fallout 3, I'd highly recommend looking into the Tale of Two Wastelands mod. While it leaves the story alone, it's a big revamp of the gunplay and other in game systems that greatly improves the experience. It essence, it basically mods Fallout 3 into New Vegas' improved version of the engine, with all the quality of life features NV added

Thanks for the correction. And it may take a lot for me to revisit this game, but if it includes significant improvements, I could be interested. I think first, I'll have to give New Vegas a go.

Fair review, most of the Bethesda games need mods anyway. Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game after being a Fallout fan since the release of 4 and being starved of it (since I didn't have a computer or console to play it on) really helped me get through it. Getting around to New Vegas, it's clear 3 is not at the same level. Already bought Fallout 1 and 2 and am hyped to get started on those! Nice to see reviews of an old game and Fallout content in 2024, liked and subbed :)

I'm curious about Fallout 1 and 2. If you feel so inclined, I'd love to hear your thoughts about them.

@@blindehsgamereviews Haven't played 1 and 2 as of yet but apparently it has some the best writing and dialogue in the series, on par if not better than FNV. Hbomberguy or some big youtuber made a video about how good 1 and 2 are and that's what made me buy it.
It is in a top-down view like WoW or League, not first person. It's also pretty dated being made in 90s (I think) but I play Fallout for the story, lore, and vibe so it's not like graphics and gunplay matter so much. I really hope they remaster 1 and 2 to look like Disco Elysium, that would be glorious.
As for a review, I'll update this comment when I finish either of the games :)

I first played fallout 3 back in 2012. At first I didn’t take to it all that much, gave it a few hours then threw it on the shelf. Fired it up a week later and didn’t stop playing for 36hrs straight. Been a diehard fan ever since.

Gotta love finding a game that just hits just right for you. I think the Bioshock games were like that for me. The more you play, the more you want to play.

I remember when I was a kid, playing this game for the first time… It was quite an experience, sometimes felt like a horror game lol It used to hit different back then 😢

If I played it when it first came out, I might have enjoyed it more. I tried Oblivion when it came out and thought there was just a ton of open space. But maybe Fallout would've been an exciting world worth exploring. Too bad quite a few years have passed since, and we've got so many good games to compare it to now.

@@blindehsgamereviews I’ve been recently playing TTW, which is a mod that puts together both fallout 3 and new vegas. So fallout 3 runs entirely on new vegas engine, and after you’re done with the capital wasteland, you can travel to the Mojave. Or anytime in game.
I’m having a ton of fun, and this modpack also comes with lots of quality of life improvements that make the game feel a bit less old, also added some mods to my liking as Titans of the New West power armor mod and some other stuff.
This got me really hooked to the game again, and it feels pretty renovated.

I especially thought the series captured the essence of Fallout when (SPOILER ALERT!) went to (SPOILER ALERT!) and met (SPOILER ALERT!) and did the (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!) thing.

Say what you will about fallout 3 but it saved the franchise if Bethesda didn't buy it who knows what would of happend to it and we wouldn't of had nv one of the best games ever 4 made some improvements to mechanics and gunplay the story wasn't very good though and 76 even though it had a bad launch is pretty good today and you can actually have fun with friends fallout 3 might not be my favorite but it's easly tied with nv because of what they accomplished with the franchise and redefining it in a good way to bring it to more people it was lack luster in a lot of areas but I think it did everything it needed to do well
