They are crochet hooks, but she doesn't crochet with them. It's like rug hooking, but done with wool strips. The wooden handles make the hooks easier to push and pull through the wool material being used
Cool idea Heather ! Everytime I see your Thomas bar-spindle(?) tool I remember the first tool I had & made was shaped like this from the tang of a big file. FWIW, you could probably cut the aluminum on your lathe. Keep 'em coming. Take care. -Mike
Thanks! My cousin-in- law is a hooker, and does beautiful artwork using them! (I don't think she would have liked me calling her a "hooker", in the video 😳 🤣
Really like the idea, just wish you would've shown the finished product once you were done. Showing them in use would've been even better. I have a number of young grandchildren that are just getting into crocheting, might have to make a special set for them.
Thank you so much for watching! These hooks can be used for crocheting or hooking, and are easier for small hands, as they are more ergonomic. There are pictures of the finished hooks in the thumbnail, and at the end of the video. I do crochet but don't do hooking, so I didn't do a how to crochet/hooking video, as there are millions of crocheting videos already on RUclips. Here is a link for one that is very easy to follow! ruclips.net/video/aAxGTnVNJiE/видео.htmlsi=fiUVzPk8fIOfLGfs
Thanks Val! No they aren't in sets. There were 5 of the same size, and all the rest were different sizes. But they all have pretty much the same top design.
Really nice work Heather. Sorry if I missed it, but did you get the size/thickness of the handles off of a chart or did you just go with what feels right?
I just went with what felt right. Just a bit bigger than a regular pencil worked great. I have done a lot of crocheting in my past, so I had a good feel for what was needed
Great job! I know what my wife is getting for her upcoming birthday!
So happy that I could help you with that!!
Nicely done. You’ve reminded me that I need to ask my sister about this.
I've watched a few videos of how they are used, I think they should be good!
Never heard of such a thing. What a great idea and fantastic job!

Now the whole family can have one. 😎
Lol I have enough hobbies now Leo! I think I'll leave this one to her!
Nice job, Heather.
Thanks Jim!
Nice job Heather
Thanks Todd! Just a simple little tool
Those very nice. Also on the epoxy using a caulking gun works great. Thank for the video
Thanks Dave! I'll definitely use that next time! She plans on re-selling these to her students, so I'm sure I'll be making more

Thanks Mike! I did even think of cutting the hook on the lathe! Where were you 13 hooks ago?!🤦♂️
@@spiritwynd Oh no 😱 At least they weren't M42 Cryo tool steel.
Nice!!👍

Good design. They look comfortable to use. Are you doing them in sets?
