The only difference is that she's not blue, she only has a blue stripe between her eyes.
I'm guessing her previous owners did that to her, I wouldn't even think of it.

The reason the Isabelle costume doesn't have the mascot head is that is that people like her differently than Tom Nook and I don't think the girlfriend would go for wearing one to bed.
