      Not Dutch myself, but my wife is so I'm pretty familiar with the fried goodness that is some Dutch food, and Kroket-burger was my first thought too. Well ok, maybe second thought after bitterballen... And then, at the end, giant bitterballen!!!

    Similar to Mexican carnitas... which is just pork that's been deep fried at a low temperature in lard with added flavourings for a long time.

    This is basically how I make Carnitas for tacos. I don't deep fry it, but do crisp it up in it's own rendered fat.

      There're indeed studies about aluminium causing cancer in the long term, for example cooking with the same aluminium skillet, all your meals, for a good amount of time.
      I believe the mass and size of that foil would be recognizable by texture and taste in your mouth, like a bony fish. If swallowed, I have no idea, but the risks go from gastrointestinal bleeding to just pooping parts of the foil.

    Looks delish! One suggestion; try replacing the lettuce with a creamy coleslaw. Slaw & pulled pork is a staple in the Southern US. Some go with a vinegar-based slaw but either way, you can't go wrong - it adds another layer of flavors! Keep up the good work!

    So many different thoughts during the video...Reading the title: "euhm....is he crazy??" Watching the video and the pulled pork: "delicious!" Seeing it being fried: whut???? Seeing you eat it: hmm interesting...seems ok... seeing you make the burger with the rou: "ok, now we lost Roel, he has gone crazy". And then seeing the result: "I have to make this too!!!!!"
    ok, now I am going to lay down for half an hour and give my thoughts a rest.... :-)

      how is he crazy? frying it would make a lot of sense since it's already smoked with flavor, and fying it would make it crispy. bleh. most people just dont think outside of the box theyre taught these days.

    My Filipina girlfriend does this pretty on the special occasions they do a whole pig or any slow roasted pork: lechon baboy. The leftovers are fried to make Lechon Kawali. The adobo leftovers are made into "Flakes." She just uses the pork belly to do this double-cook dish all the time. I am kinda glad I stopped seeing the one girl who was a vegetarian. Dodged a bullet there!

    Try frying pulled pork in a pan with onion and sweet chilli sauce, serve on stir fry veg. Try the same with slow smoked beef like brisket. It’s the dogs nuts!

    I had deep fried pork at this restaurant in Portland. It was a ball of pulled pork with risotto stuffed inside then deep fried, with pickled red onion and pickled jalepenos on the side. Probably the best thing I've ever eaten

    Carnitas from Michoacán! my dad made this for all special events! The bottom of the copper pan is where you would find what he is making. It’s the best part! Old to me new to others somthing that must be enjoyed and eaten all over the world!

    I double deep fried a cubed pork head. It was awesome. The skin was crip and the meat had a nice crunch to it. Before I deep fried it for the second time I soaked it in apple cider vinegar for about an hour, drained, patted dry and put kosher salt and crushed red pepper flakes let it side till moist was gone then deep fried again. OMG!!!

    Made this today 6 hour smoke 50 hour Sous vide pork left overs from a prior cook. I Tried this Was incredible put a fried egg on top and stuffed with American cheese, instead was amazing!!

    CARNITAS!!! Look it up. Slow fried Pork in a large cazo (copper pot) fried in its own fat (Lard). I’ll tell you what once you’ve had this you’ll never look at pulled pork the same. Makes the ultimate tacos. Give it a shot man

    One thing I think would be good, would be to have the normal pulled pork, then used the fried pork as a crunchy topper on that, so that you still get the normal pulled pork experience, but with a little texture thrown in. I’m gonna have to try it.

    @Pitmaster X We Cubans already do something like this called Vaca Frita which uses ripped up flank steak. Instead of BBQ sauce or any sweet sauces try using Mojito marinades and sauces for an acidic sour saltiness that is delicious

    I really appreciate the effort you put in the final burger. But i guess it's much to complicated for the result because your PP already looked damn good.
