Yeah it reminded when Vikings did the same thing when Vikings are talking English they’re actually talking in their language so it made me confused why in some scenes they didn’t understand each other 😂
Yeah thats was confusing at first but it’s reinforced that Meriko is studying portguese not English lol
@@Bekka_Noyb The show Warrior did it phenomenally. You would hear the proper language for a sec or two then you hear the slow transition to English.
yeah i understand why they did that ofc but its pretty confusing, esp in a show in which language and translation matter so much. i feel like we could use more reminders that john is also not speaking his native language when he and mariko talk.
This historical drama is an adaptation of the 1975 novel of the same name by James Clavell which he loosely based on on the events around the first English Samurai William Adams (character John Blackthorne) which was also called Miura Anjin (means “the pilot of Miura”)
