They had a similar design philosophy to the Italians, using heavier shells than average, but using large propellant charges to get them much faster than average as well, resulting in practically the most devastating damage you could get at that caliber. The problems that they shared (like a very short barrel life of only ~150 rounds), aren't represented in-game.
*BEWARE THAT* there is a bug in rossiya's barrage, the large icicles r actually supposed to provide real flood dmg instead of 23 dmg that scales with aviation (wtf) so when it gets fixed her barrage should deal even more dmg than it deals now also i don't get why people think ross's barrage is super spread out... monarch's barrage is more spread out than rossiya's since the dmg is evenly spread within her 13 projectiles and they land screen-wide which means any projectile that misses is a large chunk of monarch's barrage dmg, but rossiya's dmg is focused on the 9 ap shells that arc towards the middle in 3 x 3 pattern and usually at *least* 2 of those per wave will hit the boss so on average 7 of those 9 shots will hit. Also the small ice cones penetrate through anything while having a chance to set ships on fire, yes... icicles that can set shit on fire all in all both r rly good ships. I'd choose ross over monarch for boss simply cuz of the sheer dmg and monarch's against the current skill is good for mobbing i guess
It's kinda boss dependent. For bosses that stays in the middle, Rossiya's barrage is pretty good, but for bosses that move around a lot like Taihou, you'd be lucky to land 4/9..On average I prefer Monarch's barrage A LOT more.

Some ppl say that when the flood DoT actually gets fixed and scales with fp it'll push her to EX tier but it's all just speculation at this point. I'd have to test it out myself personally too (ross and monarch r both pretty far from 120 rip) but from what i can see so far ross outdamages both monarch *and* hood since hood's barrage actually has the same pattern as monarch but a *lot* more concentrated. Ross's shelling is super good with the extra 5% proc chance on monarch as well but then there is monarch's high reload and 5% mge on ross. All in all both monarch and ross r solid T0s for me

This would already swing into Ross’ favor, but factoring in the entire fleet composition paints a clearer picture The only viable ships that can contribute towards capping Ross’ FP buffing skill is NingHai/PingHai/YatSen combo, Chapayev, and Tashkent. Monarch has more flexibility and access to Helena, Noshiro and a damage oriented ship like Roon or Baltimore. While Ross’ salvo damage exceeds Monarch’s the difference comes to reload. Monarch has a higher reload and gets boosted by her skill. Monarch can get another shot in and the extra two seconds on the slow leads to consistent performance from the other backliners. The only situation I can see where Ross can outperform Monarch is on non-mobile bosses.
Rossiya barrage is spread out, but it still good for mod and boss fleet. The delay in her barrage is not satisfied. The barrage dmg is very high, it's depends on how you gonna use her.
To be fair, IRL Tashkent has twice the tonnage of DD like Laffey IIRC. That's why her stats are so high. Just3c I think you forgot to mention that these ships also cost more oil.
I haven't checked the Elites, but Tashkent, Sovetskaya and Chapayev all have the standard SR oil costs. But that's also without adding the required amount of vodka to run them at 100% efficiency.
I wouldn’t call having top tier tankiness underwhelming. And believe it or not, due to maingun +1 she doesn’t have the worst effective firepower. The fun part comes when this is pre retrofit Pamiat.
There’s so much info in this game it’s hard to know where to start I’ve had numerous people on discord help with ship set ups and builds but there’s just so much to sort through I’m glad I was able to get S.R and Tashkent they found permanent homes in my docks and I’m working up to monarch as I write this but this guide helps by explaining why each ship is good or not so I thank you for making this so even a nooblet like me can understand
So far i'm missing Avrora,Sovetskaya Rossiya and Tashkent but i'm just doing 3 pulls per day to not loose those 300 event currency stuff. Building Gangut(I really thought that i could get a higher version of her weapon,but no. Maybe in the future?) and Chapayev while farming stuff(Event currency,Chapayev drop or just equipment blueprints/Gold). And with that i could say my favorite(Waifu reason) from this event is Gangut,but still not sure if i'm gonna buy a ring to her coz the one i have is for Saint Louis(I'm a 2 month+ player lol,she was my first PRY)
It's sad that Minsk is currently underwhelming. I love her design and personality and I currently have her as my secretary because she's so adorable. I hope your prediction of her getting a retrofit when the event re-runs is true, I would love to be able to actually use her.
Everyone said the same thing about Ranger (her skills where the only redeemable part) but that didn't stop me from making her my second strongest ship with 500+ aviation

So I made an all NP fleet (S.R, Gangut, Tashkent, Avrora, and Chapayev). Any advice on a third backline ship that would go well with these shipgirls in this fleet? NP only got two backliners.
I would use a repair ship for the third, like Vestal or Akashi. That would compensate somewhat for the low AA stat on these Vodka ships. And I am curious, do you by any chance go by the name Ebicentre on Disqus? That person uses the exact same Maki avatar as you.

How would a NP fleet work? Is it for Mob fleets only? The SR BB is best in the first 2 battles, but everyone else is suited for mob fleets but the SR also has a wide spread barrage for Mobs only
For me, i can put her to boss fleet since the chinese girls are really good vangaurds (very tanky and very strong like the RN. the thing is, i do not need QE xD). which means, i can freely put other ships aside from them xD

The purple 1x130mm is only better against heavy armor than the gold 2x130mm, which is better against all other armor types. So change to the purple 1x130mm only when you are facing heavy armor bosses, otherwise keep on the gold gun.
i got 10 tashkent and could fully limit break all other sr ships, but ZERO AVRORA. I even bought her skin before getting her now idk if i want to continue
I swear, my luck is rather odd since it seems the be the opposite of how it should be. It took me around 190 cubes to get Grozny (yes, GROZNY! But can't deny that snow Eldridge is cute) and around 40 for Tashkent, Rossiya and Avrora, the former two in the first attempts xD Time to level up Rossiya and Tashkent now then, I was needing this info :P
I'm getting the impression the Soviet ships are designed around the concept of "RUSH B!" due to the fact they have start of fight boosts, or limited fight buffs.

I only have 8k pts to spend as I didn't play this event much. I can't decide whether it's better to get Chapayev (8k), OR Minsk (4k), Twin 130mm B-2LM gun (2k), and 2 Wildcard Rainbow Blueprints (1k each). Which do you think is the better way to spend my only 8k pts?

I dont understand the destroyer gun, being better? it fires normal shells and has less modifiers than the other one. the only difference is you get one more shot and the hidden multiplier. Is the increase in this hidden multiplier that good?
I just started playing this game three days ago and it seems I got into it at the right time. These comrade waifus are top tier in cute and sexiness and I’ve got 3 so far. Besides this event, I’m loving all the ship girls tbh. This game has many and I already married Prinz Eugen, who I fell in love with immediately from the anime!
@Jestin' Time I feel like I’ve got pretty lucky so far. The SR ships I’m using rn are Belfast, Takao, Prinz Eugen, Warspite, and Sovetskaya. I’ve also been using Javelin, Z23, Saratoga, and some others. I’m only scratching the surface with the amount of ships to get, it’s pretty exciting.

Well, if the buff of SR only lasts 2 battles but her mob clearing power is better than her boss killing power, you can put her in the mob fleet and use the first 2 battles to kill siren elites with the buff and then just clear regular mob fleets after.
I'm really glad Tashkent is good, I really like her personality and I'm probably gonna make a fleet I can main her in. Too bad Minsk isn't, cause she's my second favorite in this event, hopefully she'll get a retrofit and get better in the future. Also, can we talk about those amazingly ecchi prison skins these girls got? I fucking love this game!
She’s one of the very first ship to be in AL lol. She’s a part of open beta prize and was given for free on the 1st year anniversary. If you are wondering about her battle performance, it is below average. Her skill is really good, but her stats herself is super terrible

guys i did my daily two pulls today and both of them were 6 hours and 23 mins and i am happy to say that those two builds where rossiya. i swear i could never come up with that.
It depends on how you use them. I've beeb levelling up my Rossiya to lvl 90 now, and I plan on using her as a flagship for my mob fleet. Her barrage covers a lot of area. Hood, however shines in a boss fleet because her barrage is concentrated in the center and gives a 40% cooldown to all skills of my mainfleet as well.
What does it mean by "Northern Parliament Main Gun equipped" for Tashknet? Does she need a specific gun? I can't seem to find any Northern Parliament Guns.
Before I watched the video, I assumed chapayev is weaker than pamiat because chapayev always almost die. Turns out it's the opposite. btw, Tashkent always steals MVP (yelling URA! after every battle) also, I don't care about stats, I will still level pamiat
As much as I like Rossiya, I'm glad she is Amazing tier and not God tier. The power creep would have been too heavy, taking into account everything else that's already top tier in this event... EDIT: I also like how unique Gangut is.

Yeah I get that but I never get a good excuse to run a full fleet so on SP events I just say screw it and through in whatever full fleet combo I can come up with just for kicks and see how it works out

So I made an all NP fleet (S.R, Gangut, Tashkent, Avrora, and Chapayev). Any advice on a third backline ship that would go well with these shipgirls in this fleet? NP only got two backliners.
I would use a repair ship for the third, like Vestal or Akashi. That would compensate somewhat for the low AA stat on these Vodka ships.
And I am curious, do you by any chance go by the name Ebicentre on Disqus? That person uses the exact same Maki avatar as you.

How would a NP fleet work? Is it for Mob fleets only?
The SR BB is best in the first 2 battles, but everyone else is suited for mob fleets
but the SR also has a wide spread barrage for Mobs only

For me, i can put her to boss fleet since the chinese girls are really good vangaurds (very tanky and very strong like the RN. the thing is, i do not need QE xD). which means, i can freely put other ships aside from them xD

Well, idk how it happened since I haven't touched her but apparently I removed and sold Gangut's gun since the one she has equipped is T3, not T0. Exact same name, image and stats but 5.4s slower FR
You forget 1x130mn gun from maid br2, that make Tashkent even stronger.
The purple 1x130mm is only better against heavy armor than the gold 2x130mm, which is better against all other armor types. So change to the purple 1x130mm only when you are facing heavy armor bosses, otherwise keep on the gold gun.
Good point, it allows her to utilize the Trajectory Marking skill, making her even more OP

I swear, my luck is rather odd since it seems the be the opposite of how it should be. It took me around 190 cubes to get Grozny (yes, GROZNY! But can't deny that snow Eldridge is cute) and around 40 for Tashkent, Rossiya and Avrora, the former two in the first attempts xD Time to level up Rossiya and Tashkent now then, I was needing this info :P

Everything is fine avrora is really good, she is waifu still, good i only need S.R. to get all the god tier ship of this event. I like your videos a lot, been watching since i started playing Azur Lane, the first guide i watched was yours.
eh, whats wrong with Avora? He originally gave Avrora a 9/10 rating back in 2018.
Avrora is very good in PVE, she is the best vanguard support... But her performance in PVP is horrible because she is slow and her stats are mediocre...

no you always use a DD gun on Sandy. Twin 130mm has almost twice the DPS compare to any Light Cruiser gun.

I dont understand the destroyer gun, being better? it fires normal shells and has less modifiers than the other one. the only difference is you get one more shot and the hidden multiplier.

@Jestin' Time I feel like I’ve got pretty lucky so far. The SR ships I’m using rn are Belfast, Takao, Prinz Eugen, Warspite, and Sovetskaya. I’ve also been using Javelin, Z23, Saratoga, and some others. I’m only scratching the surface with the amount of ships to get, it’s pretty exciting.

How does Avrora fare with her Komrades though? I got Chapayev and Rosiya, dont feel like getting Tashkent and will probs run those two with Gangut, Grozny and Minsk.
Well, if the buff of SR only lasts 2 battles but her mob clearing power is better than her boss killing power, you can put her in the mob fleet and use the first 2 battles to kill siren elites with the buff and then just clear regular mob fleets after.

She’s one of the very first ship to be in AL lol. She’s a part of open beta prize and was given for free on the 1st year anniversary. If you are wondering about her battle performance, it is below average. Her skill is really good, but her stats herself is super terrible

I'm so happy that my last 8 cubes got me comrade Tashkent. I guess I'll be levelling 4 of them (Tash, Ross, Chapy and Gangut). Sad that Pamiat is average at best, I love her animation.

It depends on how you use them. I've beeb levelling up my Rossiya to lvl 90 now, and I plan on using her as a flagship for my mob fleet. Her barrage covers a lot of area. Hood, however shines in a boss fleet because her barrage is concentrated in the center and gives a 40% cooldown to all skills of my mainfleet as well.

Dumb idea for SP event level mob fleet but here me out: Chapayev, Arvora, and Tashkent for vanguard and S.R., Gangut, and your choice of carrier (if desired)
For Lv.110ish enemies, Tashkent+Chapayev+Gangut is enough, at most you add a repair ship, no need to run more damage.
Yeah I get that but I never get a good excuse to run a full fleet so on SP events I just say screw it and through in whatever full fleet combo I can come up with just for kicks and see how it works out
