Hey Reggie, I'll give you my thoughts probably as a landscape photographer. I have used it for a few other things as well but the majority of my work is in landscapes. What can I say about the camera what do I love about it. I love the image quality. This thing is seriously tax sharp. I shoot often at about F9 to F11 and it's a really sharp camera. And while the retro dials are seen as a bit of a novelty for people outside the Fujifilm family as a landscape photographer they are a godsend because you can simply adjust things on the fly. While you're standing over your tripod, or with the camera in your hands. I love the simplicity nature of this camera, and it works really well in many situations. I am often shooting in blue hour and golden hour at the end of the day, and the low light performance of this camera is actually really good. You've just got to know how to correctly expose the photo with a crop sensor camera. With a full frame camera, you can just simply under exposed many images and still rescue them in post you can't do that with the FujifilmXT5, so, in many ways, the FujifilmXT5 has made me a better photographer again because I have to be conscious of light. Okay, I have done some other commercial work with it events people and so forth and I found it to be super reliable. Yes it does miss the odd shot but you'll find bar a Sony camera. Most camera brands are like this and the camera isn't perfect but for the majority of photos I've taken with it of people it's nailed probably about 90% of the shots to 95% I'm happy with that and if you're shooting in burst mode when you're shooting people, one of your photos is gonna be good so it's not a drama at all. I have also used some Nikon lenses on the XT5 as I have the adapter which is the better adapter and it works really well. In fact, I took some awesome sports photography photos of some surfers the other day with the 70 to 200 Nikon and it was an awesome camera to be honest. In that moment I thought wow I can actually do this with this camera and the images were Pin sharp what I would say about this camera is it's a really good all-round camera and to be honest I can't really fault it in too many ways I do wish that I had a slightly higher buffer rate, but you know what you can still burst off 10 or 15 shots over 3 second period and you're gonna get one or two photos that you can still use for what you need them for. Let's go back to the film days we shot sports with film cameras. yes No auto focus and we were still able to take great photos of sports and action with those cameras so this you could still take a great action shot. I think people today want the cameras to be perfect so they can just point it and click the button and I don't see the point in that. I still like it to be a skilful hobby. I love the sharpness of the files that come out of the Fujifilm, Max T5 that's what I really like and even when I push the ISO up to 1600 I still get pretty sharp, clean images and nothing that Lightroom den-noise can't fix anyway. I love the screen and the way it works. I don't use the viewfinder a lot but it's adequate a lot of people have complained that the viewfinder should've been better but the trade-off would be then the battery would die quicker. Yes if you have a more brighter EV then that means it uses more battery and your battery goes flat quicker for me I would rather have slightly less detail in the EV and have better battery life as a landscape photographer. Sorry if there's any typos, I use voice text and wanted to give it a longer review. Great to see your review as always. At last, a non nonsense informative X-T5 video. I’ve had mine for about a month now (moving over from Nikon) and thought I was stuck with ISO 125; no longer. Also, I prefer front and back dials for ISO and SS.
I plan to buy this end of next year (2024), i feel it is about time, been saving slowly. I've had my XT3 for years now, it is still working awesomely no problem. Just slowly upgrading. And i can still keep my XT3 for 2nd kit with diff fixed lens.
@@warrenc2306 - i was working direclty with Fujifilm techs and pretty sure my feedback led to the fix for x-h2/x-h2s but they never flowed it down to x-s10
Hey! Love the video, your last couple on the xt5 convinced me to upgrade, though I went xh2 to try something new. The ch2 had a firmware update that lets you assign ISO to a dial, super cool! Thanks for the content!
I owned a XT2 in the past couple of years and upgraded to Xt5 last year. Xt5 is undoubted a faster and more reliable camera comparing to xt2, and better in many aspects. However, sometimes I missed the Color produced by xt2 especially in Provia, which is a bit different in the two machines.
I agree. I too have a XT2 and upgraded to XT5. 5 is not as enjoyable as 2. The colors are not that great, as well as the build quality. The only good part with 5 is the autofocus. Its much much improved.
I'm going to be a dad soon and I'm also looking to document stills and video of her growing up. The family part of the video really sold me. I'm gonna sell out of my Canon m6ii and pick of an X-T5 this week.
Really well put together video. I think i’ve moved to other camera systems but you are Fuji’s best salesman, whether they acknowledge you or not. PS, especially like those night shots you showed with a glow filter effect. Very cool look!
Hey Reggie, did your camera's SD card door have some sort of flex and squeak to it when pushed inward? Not sure if it's normal, but it makes sense that it would be if the rubber seals are just rubbing together. The flex also makes sense since the spring is just naturally trying to push the door outward, creating an inconspicuous gap. I just want to make sure I’m not overlooking a design flaw with the squeaking haha. Cheers!
@Reggiebphoto I can feel the flex just when gripping the camera naturally, it's this way on other Fujis with similar card door designs too (eg GFX100S). Nothing to worry about, I think
I've been loving the X-T5 so much. I've shot it for close to a year now and it's noticeably better at autofocus. I loved the flip screen from the X-T3 but the resolution wasn't great. The X-T4 screen looks great, but I didn't like the tilt swivel as much. The X-T5 isn't perfect but it includes everything I liked from previous Fuji cameras without losing the import functionality and character from previous models. It's a great camera for nearly any situation. Great video and nice photos as well. Keep it up!
Interesting to hear your feedback, but it seems to me that the T30 does 95% if not more of the same. I got mine used and it’s amazing value that has a lot of the “critical” parts you mentioned. Yes the sensor is older and the autofocus - worse. But other than that, for day to day photography of memories - such a great little camera.
Awesome review and amazing photos! Tho colours in your photos are beautiful. Did you really not do any post processing on those (ie they're JPGs)? I recently listened to your podcast on Fujilove which was interesting. Do you have your JPG recipes available anywhere? Thanks!
Hello! This video was super helpful thank you so much, I loooveee your photos! I wondered what lenses you used for these photos? I'm an amateur photographer and I had my old digital camera stolen which was Nikon, I've used film in the mean time but just with old cameras with fixed lenses. I want to buy a mirrorless digital camera especially as I am about to go travelling for a while, so want to get a transportable camera but then also a go-to for anything after I stop travelling, so felt like the XT5 might be a good option! Hoping to get 2 lenses, one small compact one, and one that's a bit bigger with more zoom for when I'm not travelling but I am unsure which ones to get!
Awesome video. Love it. I have experience shooting with the X-T1, X-T3, X-T4 and X-H1. Awesome cameras all of them. Would love to find some mint ones one day and keep them all. Sold them when upgrading. I recently owned a X-H1 but it got stolen, autofocus was not so cool but i got some kickass shots with it. I will pick up a black Fujifilm X-T5 tommorow.m. Would have loved a silver one, but those are harder to come by. I will pair the X-T5 woth a 50-140 for now. Kind of big, but good thing i have it, shots with 140 look amazing. Big fujifilm fan and addict, love them. Thanks for the vid. Very inspiring. Keep up the good work!
Great review, will buy mine next week after having the X100V for about 2 years (which I intend to keep of course!). Just a stupid question - you said that if you were to start over as a wedding photographer you would go with two X-T5s. So, I am a street photographer only, hence the stupid question, but as a wedding photographer, what is the main reason to have two cameras? To have two different lenses on so that you can more quickly adapt to situations and don't have to switch lenses on one single camera? What lenses would be your default ones to equip those two cameras with then?
You came up with great answers already, friend! Two bodies means less lens switching. Some shoot with one prime and zoom, some take two zooms or two primes. Whatever fits your needs best! There are many exciting and good Combos out there, but generally you would want something like 23 or 33mm and something with more zoom like the 56 or 90mm. Some rely on the 16-50 and 50-150. Having two bodies is also vital safety! If one camera fails, you have at least one back up. Imagine you are booked for the wedding. Everything is checked, packed and you arrive at the wedding. Take a few shots and suddenly your only camera is dead. You are s... out of luck now. Do you want to be the Person to tell the couple that you can't do the job and document this once in a life time event? Bring two bodies :)
@@Reggiebphoto All of it to be fair, but particularly the film sims (like you I mostly stick with out of camera JPEGs), the low light images not being impacted by the higher resolution, the fact you got used to the buttons. I'm researching the XT5 as my potential next camera, switching from Nikon, which is how I found it. I like your style too, very polished. Thanks again for your efforts.
I am really considering the X-H2 but I seriously cannot get over the flip screen. My dad shot Canon’s my entire life with flip screens and I’ve always hated it. An update to the H line needs a tilting screen setup.
I love it upgraded from the XT 30 which I really enjoyed but very happy with the upgrades. Don’t plan on, leaving to do anything with the camera body for sometime!
I have the X T5 and love it. Can’t tell difference in image quality vs X T3, T4 and X H2s. Don’t need 40 mp lol. 26 more than enough. Af better than T4 but not as good as X H2s.
I absolutely love mine, had it since the start of the year and honestly I was not super impressed by the AF at the start but the recent software updates have improved things so much! Love using it with my 27 f/2.8 and 35 f/1.4 lenses. Still wish I could find an X100V for the occasional grab & go but maybe the next version will have better availability 🤷🏽♂️
Man, I bought the XH2s, and I’ve loved it, but there are times when I wish I had the XT5. I’m more of a filmmaker, so I bought the XH2s as an alternative to my BMPCC 6K Pro, going for a hybrid camera. But I find that when I reach for the XH2S it is more for photos than video.
Looking at cameras to upgrade my current canon m50, one of the biggest things I’m looking for is better low light capabilities. How does this hold up to full frame camera’s in your opinion?
I am still with my XT2. I try JPEG only for a few months but I am not really sure if it’s the best for me. I tested many Recipes but didn’t find the perfect one. But the camera still is amazing, looking good and produces amazing photos. The XT5 is way to expensive for me atm, but maybe in the future I will upgrade. Nice video and amazing photos 🎉
Hola! Gracias!
My god, what a beautiful video. Incredible photographic skills on display plus perfect scripting for the cam talk. Big help. And cute kids. 👍🏽📸 Thinking now if it makes sense to add this to my stable of non-professional workhorses (x100v and Sony a7c).
As an X-T3 owner who shoots films with my RED and other pro cinema cameras, I really didn't care about the video section of this presentation. BUT YOUR KIDS, hahaha. They made me die from their ridiculous cuteness and you really reminded me to shoot more video of my own family. Oh yeah, and I just ordered the X-T5. Woohooooo!
@@Reggiebphoto sorry for the confusion. I was just saying I was going to skip the video section, but then I actually really enjoyed it and you reminded me I need to capture more video of my kids!
I've been shooting weddings for years on my trusty xt2 & xt20 combo. Considering upgrading to a xt5 and xt50 combo... is the low light handling way better with 40mp?
So glad I traded my trusted XT-4 for the XT-5. Wow! I can crop so much more and the colors are super. I use the 15, 23, and 16-55mm lenses. So awesome! Thanks for the long-term review.
Hello 😊I have a few questions. I do food photography and videography and I'm wondering if this camera is good for shooting closeup food videos in low light? Also in chapter 4 did you use a lens or just the body to shoot these amazing photos? Thank you so much !!
I've had this camera for about a year now but I only purchased manual lenses. Today my first autofocus lens came but the autofocus does not work when I push down the shutter halfway. It only seems to work when I use the back button Autofocus. I've tried changing all my settings around but nothing seems to work. Maybe my shutter button is just broken and it doesn't work halfway.
Hey Reggie! First time viewer in your channel and this video is amazing! Definitely insta subbed! Question: I’ve been a Sony user for years now and I’ve been wanting to have a Fuji camera as my personal fun camera apart from my work camera. What lens(es) would recommend for Fuji? And what lenses did you use for those shot of your kids?
@@Reggiebphoto I like the simplicity and the no nonsense information. I own Xh2 and looking for a body that just takes photos. this helped me make the decision. I will use Xh2 only for videos.
Great review and nice footage of your fam. Do you prefer using the 4k or 4khq mode? I saw that 4khq doesn't let you use digital stabilization (just IBIS) and I was curious if that makes it worse for handheld video.
4k hq has more dynamic range than 4k. it's very apparent in the shadows. but unfortunately you have to deal with the slight cropping on the footage. if you check out gerald undone's xh2 video review he goes thru the differences between 4k and 4k hq
I purchased it specifically to use 2 specific Nikon full-frame lenses with my X-T5 knowing it doesn't do AF. Based on this, it does the job, and I'm happy with it.
Hello, Great video. I generally love your family pictures. May I know which lenses you are using for you kids action portrait with this nice bokeh? And are you happy with the metabones speedbuster for Nikon lenses? Also are you using Fuji present or are these handmade?
It’s a fujifilm film simulation recipe - I use the fujifilm simulation and add some adjustments in camera. For the photos, you’ll have to link a timestamp of which photo and I can tell you
@@Reggiebphoto more specifically, with Black Friday, the end-of-year holidays quickly approaching, I would like to acquire an environmental portrait lens in order to photograph families, children in an indoor context in low light without flash like outside day or night (the Christmas markets are coming with beautiful night lights :-)). I shoot with the Fuji XH2S. I have the 56mm APD 1st Generation whose bokeh and focal length are very nice but you know it's execrable AF. Last year I bought the Sigma 18-50 which is practical but overall I am disappointed because the bokeh is not eau pronounced for me. So I'm looking for a lens with a larger aperture at 1.0, 1.2 or even 1.4. (to increase the bokeh, have a better ISO setting in low light) but while maintaining a beautiful sharpness worthy of 2023. On the other hand, I would like a top AF knowing that I often capture the moment (children playing, friends chatting, etc.). Watching your videos, I'm still hesitating between a Sigma 56mm, a Viltrox 56, the new Fuji 56 or changing focal length with either the 30mm/33 from Sigma/Fuji/Viltrox or going for the Fuji 90mm F2 or the Viltro 75 or 85 mm. But even if the latter are better for good compression of shots, I fear that it will not be practical enough for indoors pictures by limiting to head shooting. On the opposite, isn't a 33mm too wide to have bokeh without distortion because you would have to get too close to the subject? Another thing, I'm really not a fan of Cats-eye, onion ring and important chromatic aeration which are a limiting factors for me. On the other hand, a vignatage does not batter me. Based on this, what would you recommend to me to buy on my Fuji?
I've had my own Fujifilm X-T5 for three days, and from this short time, I can say it's a fantastic camera! I would like to ask, what is that hood on the XF33F1.4 ?

Bravo!
firmware updates on x-h2/2s fixed iso mapped to a dial debacle. Hoping it will be done for X-S20
They didn’t do anything for the xs10 - and I raised this issue directly to fujifilm
@@ReggiebphotoI asked my local fuji rep too and did it get a clear answer.
@@warrenc2306 - i was working direclty with Fujifilm techs and pretty sure my feedback led to the fix for x-h2/x-h2s but they never flowed it down to x-s10
@@Reggiebphoto bummer, cause that would have given the x-s20 the fix too. Guess I wait and hope. Thanks for the replies!!!
I don't get can you elaborate the issue
Hey! Love the video, your last couple on the xt5 convinced me to upgrade, though I went xh2 to try something new.
The ch2 had a firmware update that lets you assign ISO to a dial, super cool!
Thanks for the content!
Yeah they didn’t address the xs10 tho - which is the camera I raised the issue to fujifilm on. What a shame
Yup, the minor color differences between sensors is definitely a factor. Love my x70 for this reason
I agree. I too have a XT2 and upgraded to XT5. 5 is not as enjoyable as 2. The colors are not that great, as well as the build quality. The only good part with 5 is the autofocus. Its much much improved.
@@piyhaw is the ISO handling way better than the xt2? I kept using my xt2 as I never saw a huge upgrade is its successors.
@@gregliss3346 both very similar. May be a notch better on XT-2. If autofocus and better battery life are not needed, then you are good with xt-2.
Great vid, quick question, which is your go to lens for weddings? I live the clarity you have in the sample photos
Lovely snapshots, R.
I love my X-T5 and your love of your family through the prism of the X-T5 is obvious.
Thank you!
Super great review! Thanks, Reggie!
I'm going to be a dad soon and I'm also looking to document stills and video of her growing up. The family part of the video really sold me. I'm gonna sell out of my Canon m6ii and pick of an X-T5 this week.
Check out this video too: ruclips.net/video/_V3x3lZ7tWA/видео.htmlsi=9sJUMPaKU0qR1fgu
Really well put together video. I think i’ve moved to other camera systems but you are Fuji’s best salesman, whether they acknowledge you or not. PS, especially like those night shots you showed with a glow filter effect. Very cool look!
I’m not unfortunately. Cause I don’t get paid for the camera sales I bring them. And they didn’t really give me a reason to stay on as an ambassador.
How's the build quality? I've seen a lot of complaints
Cheers!
I dunno. I don’t try pushing doors of my camera like that. I’d suggesting reaching out to fujifilm tech support
Keep it up!
Thanks!
Looking at a xt5 to always have in my bag, but not sure yet. What's the main reason to go xt5 over xt4?
Did you watch the video?
This review is brilliant in every way. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words. What stood out to you?
Your photos are great. I’m thrilled with my X-T5.
Nice!
I had that before I upgraded to the XT 5 love that little thing as well!
@@Bill-e-Goat I’m sure I wouldn’t mind as well :) as long as it’s nearly as light

If you watch my budget camera video, the xt30 is my top recommendation

Nicely done video Reggie. I found your channel while looking for XT5 reviews since I'm about to get one. You just got a new sub. Well done! Take care!
Thanks for the sub!
Awesome review and amazing photos! Tho colours in your photos are beautiful. Did you really not do any post processing on those (ie they're JPGs)? I recently listened to your podcast on Fujilove which was interesting. Do you have your JPG recipes available anywhere? Thanks!
They’re all JPEGs. If anything is edit (minor edits) the edits were done to the JPEGs and not raws.

Great video by a Great Dad!!!
Loving your videos, bro I was looking at some of your past stuff using some of your simulations right now keep it up!!!!
Oh really? What do you mean?
I prefer shooting two bodies with two primes. I’m typically shot 18 1.4 and 56 1.2
You came up with great answers already, friend!
@@venom2k2 , wow thanks a lot for this! Very helpful 😀 It all makes sense as well!
Amazing video! May I ask what shutter button you habe there? :-)
Or do you have recommendations?
Very interesting and well-reasoned review, thanks for this.
What did you find most interesting?
The xt5 is the move
Would this be a good beginner camera ?
Xt3 was a great camera XT4 not so much of an upgrade but the XT5 I think it has everything I need to justify starting a Fuji kit again 😅
yup, the x-t4, let's just pretend that camera didn't exist.
Great Video Reggie!!!! I am thinking of changing my XT3 and I would like to know which would you recommend , the XT5 or the XH2?
All the best
I made a video on that
I agree with all points made on this video. The only thing that bugs me about my XT5 is that the screen feels a little loose
Seems the same compared to my x100v and the xt3 I had before. What are you comparing to
What are your honest thoughts on the Fujifilm X-T5?
@@Bill-e-Goatit's good for the next 5 years i say. the x-t3/x-t30 had a similar lifespan.

I’m using x-pro3 , and considering should I get a xt-5. Because I want to take some video( before most of my video took on action camera or iPhone)
Great video, thanks a lot!
You can actually set ISO to a command dial on the XH models now. It was added in an update but I can't remember which.
yup, this video was recorded prior to that happening. they didn't update the x-s10 with this same functionality tho.
Looking at cameras to upgrade my current canon m50, one of the biggest things I’m looking for is better low light capabilities. How does this hold up to full frame camera’s in your opinion?
with recent updates you can configure front dial iso on the XH2, that's how mine is set up currently. hopefully it comes to other models too!
100% - I have my xh2s set up that way now. But wish the xs10 got the same treatment
For shooting Real Estate, architecture, would you get the XT 5 or GFX 100S ii ?
Hola! Gracias!

I've been shooting weddings for years on my trusty xt2 & xt20 combo. Considering upgrading to a xt5 and xt50 combo... is the low light handling way better with 40mp?
The X-T5 is my favorite Fuji. Stopped using my X100v due to size and versatility.
Nice! I still use my X100V often. For me it just comes down to what focal length I'm feeling that day.
What lens/lenses would you recommend for shooting weddings with this?

Hi new subscriber here. Im about to buy xt5 now and watched your video. Anyway, what camera did you use to shoot your video in you studio?
X-S10 or X-H2s, i forgot.
What is your opinion of the metabones speed booster? I'm thinking of pairing it with a tilt/shift lens so I can use on on my xt5

If you can link the exact time stamp of the image I can let you know what lens
