Maybe they plan on an X80, maybe 2025! It's perhaps a bit unfair to hate on the XM5 because it simply shares a similar footprint to an X70 but we had no X80? heh. I think the amount of people that don't understand the XM5 is quite astonishing. It has a few markets but it will never be 'the camera' that does it all, it can't.. not at this price point and the pricing is EXTREMELY important to its intended market. We have been so long without a budget Fuji camera. For example, people complain and compare this camera to the XS20 (which is a far better all rounder camera), but of course (at least here in Australia) you save about $700 by opting for the MX5! That's not a small amount of savings, I can get a gimbal ($400) and some budget 3rd party AF primes with the coin left over! It's clearly a video centric camera, pimping it with a rig I think is part of the intent, the C1-4 dial another example of intended video set ups. The specs themselves scream 'I'm very good at video for the price of me!'. So once we realise it IS a video centric camera we worry much less about things like EVF's. There are primes and zooms out there with OIS, the only real mistake here I feel is not with the XM5 but with the replacement 18-55, the new 16-50, which now has no OIS. Woops! I dunno about you but I don't need duplicate specs all the time. 2x XH2S's is enough, I don't always need my 3rd camera to have IBIS, WR etc. That's one of the intended markets here, you are the intended market Reggie! You wanted something affordable, slim, for video/vlogging, this is it. And maybe if Ricoh did video better then you wouldn't have to go down this path. The xm1 was a movie camera?
I didn't make vidéos with the x-m1 but it was capable of making it.
X70 is so overpriced today, because it's just perfect but need a new version of it.
🎵 all I want is the perfect [everyday] camera 🎵
Yass
Is EX4 better?
Imo yes
Finally someone said the truth about those dials. Really very stupid decision!!! How often one will change those film sims? Fuji x80 would be too expensive for them to make that's why the preferred this cheap and weird camera...
The real reason RUclipsrs make these redundant videos is for advertising their sponcers stuff, that's all
Gotta pay my bills and put food on the table.
Someone get this guy a whaaaamburger and some french fries, and fire the recipe dial guy for that choice!
I got it and I love it.
Awesome!
It’s very interesting but I’ll keep my X100V.
I will not purchase a XM5. I agree with your dislikes. I’m simply not in the target market for this camera. That is alright.
Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
X70 is one of their best camera
now sure what is the point of this video? Very confused.
@@SamTFLOH people asked me why I bought a camera after I shared that I didn’t like it. This answers the question. It’s not meant for those who aren’t already following me.
Fuji went from an XM1.... to an XM5 ? hmmm. That's a mystery 😆
from begining of the video seem the reviewer doesnt' fully understand that this is entry level camera for video/vlogging with option to grow, nit picking of features then it's in the perspective for intermediate or expert user... why rant so much, the comparison are in the same price bracket. be wise, provide objective review or just make video to help optimize the camera of xm5
My channel is a photography channel. People have asked me my thoughts in comparison of it to the gr iii and x70. I delivered. And I also mentioned I bought it for video. I understand its purpose and also put it into perspective for MY audience. Nothing more nothing less.
No evf is such a shame
In the end if you’re looking to throw it away, I know a good disposal place😂
Where?
@ mu adress is a very good place to dispose cameras 😂
Absolutely agree why did they put a films simulation dial waste of money
I'm sorry no IBIS on a video orientated camera... NO. Fuji needs to stop fvcking around and come out with a compact zoom, flash, built in in ND filter, IBIS. Basically the x100vi for video.
Reggie you are my hero. Your thoughts of the xm5 are so closely aligned with mine. Thanks always.
I’m no hero. I just keep it real and come from a place with lots of nuance and both professional experience as well as heavy use for personal and video
I would never buy any camera without a view finder! Maybe it’s because I’m older and don’t see as well, but I’ve always hated LCD screens only, as you have to worry about glare!
If you’re shooting video, which I don’t, I’ve heard others talk about the Xs20 being a better option!
Oh yes! The xs20 is what I’m using to film the talking head angle. It’s my main video camera.
The Ricoh found a good solution to the lcd only with the outdoor view brightness mode
@@Reggiebphoto True, but that doesn't provide the diopter correction for presbyopia, which means one (me) has to tilt my head back to get the screen in focus. That becomes uncomfortable in a hurry!
💯 The X-M1 came highly recommended by a number of content creators I follow. I love the form factor, especially with the Fujinon small primes. But, the rear-screen only is a show stopper for me. It's not just the lack of contrast in bright light, but the screen requires old eyes to find the near vision part of my spectacles. "nuff said...
Ah sorry to hear!
@@Reggiebphoto No worries, we all get there if we live long enough! ;)
Exploring everyday cams? I’m gonna be so happy if you end up reviewing a Leica Q
Only a matter of time. Gotta get my finances in order for that one tho
i will take the old xt4 over this
Not having a viewfinder is bad enough, but then to rub salt into the already bare wound they imposed a side hinged, take forever, obtrusive flippy flappy rear screen on us.
RUclipsrs delight, professionals take flight.
Yes
X-70 is a slice of perfection.Mine sits in my office on show and to pick it up is a joy.
One of the best
Return it
I didn’t go on my trip yet
@ after you will start loving it. I had many concerns but the size and new Viltrox air lenses make it up for it. Less space and less noticeable.
I have a feeling for video I will like it. We shall see.
I LOVE this camera but its for the RICH
@@CarloCamaso-lv1hp unfortunately this is THE cheapest Fuji camera
that's who fuji is for in current year, nothing about the brand is budget
Cool, return it. Done. Merry Christmas
Thanks, you too!
