For me the standard seat is better up to 2 hours riding, after that the touring seat feels better.
So you carry the touring seat and swap it after 2 hours?

Thanks for the test! I was wondering weather I should change the seats or not. After Your conclusion and comments below I'll stay with the standard seats. Your video was most helpful. I'm a bit jealous becouse You still have clear roads to ride, even if only 6 C temp. Here we have minus 15 C and snow all around. Our Classic is in a garage waiting for the spring to come.
We will have snow and -4 ° next week 😞
They have one of those Bronze Classic 350s at the dealership here in Utah. I really do like that color.

Danke für Dein Video. Ich denke, mit Deiner Schlussfolgerung liegst Du zu 100% richtig. Natürlich sind Touring-Sitze immer etwas straffer gepolstert, was auch angesichts der gewünschten Gewichtsverteilung auf der Sitzfläche erforderlich ist. Zum anderen brauchen diese Sitze erst einmal ein paar Hundert Km, bis sie mal "eingesessen" sind. Und dann ist es - zumindest bis da hin - so, dass der Standardsitz für die Kurzstrecke (bis ca 2 Std Fahrtzeit) besser geeignet scheint, aber dann bei längeren Fahrten der Touringsitz seine Vorteile ausspielen kann (siehe eben die bessere, gleichmäßigere Gewichtsverteilung). Ich denke, mit den 120 € hast Du da nichts verkehrt gemacht. Zudem dieser ja auch angesichts Deiner Größe dem Kniewinkel positiv entgegen kommt.

Hi Michi, ich werde ihn jetzt mal eine Weile darauflassen und schauen, ob es besser wird. Sonst hole ich mir vielleicht mal die Low seat Variante und nutze mein geliebtes Luftkissen von SW Motech. Liebe Grüße Marc

Actually RE usually puts a very comfortable seat as standard, however as you said, it depends on the rider’s taste.

Ich denke das du sicher noch einige Kilometer mit dem Sitz fahren musst, bis er "eingesessen" ist. Habe das auch in einem anderen Video gesehen, wo der Besitzer diesen Sitz auf seiner Classic montiert hatte. Auch dieser berichtete, dass es einige Zeit brauchte bis der Sitz weicher wurde. Aber alleine wegen der Optik würde ich eine gewisse "Härte" in Kauf nehmen. Und natürlich ist auch bei jedem der "Popometer" etwas anders eingestellt. Finde es auch toll das du bei kaltem Wetter unterwegs bist. Ich bin auch ein Ganzjahresfahrer und der Meinung das es kein schlechtes Wetter gibt, sondern nur "schlechte Kleidung"! Was ich mir jedoch bei meiner Classic nicht montieren werde ist das Windschild. Dieses hat sicher seine Vorteile jedoch passt es für mich überhaupt nicht zur wunderschönen Optik der Enfield. Aber das ist natürlich auch Geschmacksache und kann jeder anders sehen. Ich freue mich schon auf deine nächsten Videos und wünsche dir weiterhin viel Freude mit der Classic! I have switched the seat some time ago. The touringseat is indeed much fermer and that's a good thing if you do longer rides.
I think the general consensus is that for long rides the seat can not be to soft. I never went back to the standard seat.
The touringseat does get a bit softer after a while, especially the bulge at the end which initially puts you a bit forward.

Danke Marc. Really useful video. I've ridden several hours on the standard seat and had no fatigue issues. Having previously had the Kawasaki Versys 650, the standard 350 seat is pure luxury! The seat on the Versys was pure torture! But thanks again, you've helped me decide. I'm going to stick with the standard seat for now 👍 Andy

Try it for a few weeks maybe it will get softer over time. I prefer the standard seat because its very comfortable.

Some higher quality seats, Corbin for example, take up to a thousand miles to get broken into the shape of your butt and your weight. Also, since you are now sitting more upright and the reach to your bars is different, you might consider bar risers to put you back into the original riding position that you had with the factory seat.
I will order the touring handle bars, so the seating position is the same as before 👍

Thinking of changing over from a standard black to brown on my Red and Chrome classic as imho it would look better but still undecided on standard or touring .
Im 1.8 mts and without bar risers ( which dont exist for the classic) feel the seat may mean a less comfortable more leant forward positon.

Hi Lee, I think the standard seat is more comfortable on short distance rides, but the touring seat gets better on long distances. I changed the original handlebars to the touring handlebars which are 3cm higher, this gives me a more relaxed seating position. Ride safe, cheers Marc

I’ve read about the touring seat and I think you have to wear it in as it has the mesh system as well as padding ? I’m buying a 350 classic in green after Christmas so I would be interested to hear your thoughts after more time thanks 👍😊

This depends on the personal taste. It is a bit stiffer than the standard seat.
