I have owned that UV sterilizer. It lasted maybe three months before the pump went out. I'd have bought a $50-$60 one on BRS or some other website; one where you can replace parts if needed.
@@MrJacobCastro It's been awhile so I don't quite remember. I don't think it was the impeller; if it was that, I'd probably have replaced it. I think the motor itself just stopped spinning. I really think I was overworking it. I didn't pay anything for it, the company that I order aquarium equipment from sent it to me by mistake and said I could keep it.
@@MrJacobCastro I am now of the opinion that an all-in-one solution just might not be the best. I mentioned the ones at BRS because I think they were 11w and had no mechanical parts.
Hi , I just watched your goldfish feeding video (done from a while back) I used to just feed my goldfish flakes . But now I am going to mix some Peas and spinach in their diet , I’ve got a few Q’s as I’ve just started the hobby 1) My goldfish has changed colour from orange/goldfish to white but the other one hasn’t . Should I be concerned? 2) I’ve had my fishes for a while but they have stayed the same size since I got them , Is that because of what I’ve been feeding them ? Thanks, Edit : Just realised my goldfish can’t eat the peas because they don’t fit in their mouths And I cut them up but they seem to be spitting them out .
CINDY H MCDANIEL Hi! I got them at home depot, not sure of the name. They rust rather quickly being exposed to water. But they last around 6 months. Thanks for watching.
Hi Jacob, I've learned allot from your you tube videos. I live in a city that has only two fish stores and both have good info on fish, but not so much on plants. I have one planted tank, a 40 breeder, potting soil substrate and co2. Problem is plants growing like crazy. Great leaf growth on the surface but mostly roots midway up the tank. Plants Ludwigia and ludwigia mini super red. Not much for leaves on the bottom. If I cut the tops off and re plant, will the leafless roots put on new leaves. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Most of the bacterial load (beneficial bacteria) lives on surfaces, not freely flowing in the water. The UV kills living agents in the flowing water, algae, bacteria, etc.

Let's aim for TWO videos a month!
24/7 live footage.
Nice man maybe someday I'll build my own greenhouse full of aquatic plants
Nice good time to upgrade

Brian K. How did the pump break? Was it the impeller? Thanks for watching.

Do uv sterilizer kill beneficial bacteria ?
No it does not. Thanks for watching.
