"If you speak German all day, I think your throat would hurt"
That's rich coming from the French guy with the uvular fricative Rs
French is waaay softer than German, only some r sounds can be hard while every sentence will make you suffer in German xD plus they have the same r
I swear it doesn't actually hurt lmao
Fair point.
Vous avez pas le droit de parole les allemands
@@tree4110 Yeah, for us, French is our native language so it doesn't hurt our throat, but I think for strangers it might be difficult sometimes. Same for German i think 🤔😊
It's funny how they all speak 3 languages (except Dave) so they just switch into english or korean in the middle of conversation

Je penses que quand il vont comprendre que le français et l’espagnol viennent du latin et que l’anglais et l’allemand viennent du germanique ils vont arrêter de dire « woaw c’est la même prononciation!! » sinon super vidéo
Malgré tout plus de 80% du vocabulaire anglais vient du français.

Has someone noticed when Fabien tried to say Aschenputtel the subtitles said 'Asianputa'???? In spanish it doesn't mean something good 😂😂😂😂
I know. It means Asian bitch. But if you think about it, Aschen comes from the German word Asche or ash in English. You can clearly see the connection here. In English, cinder is another synonym for ash, hence why she is called Cinderella. Cinder comes from the Germanic word Sinter, which meant a mixture of iron ore and fluxes added to a blast furnace, but it some how got mixed with the meaning of the French word cendre, or ash (Cendrillon is Cinderella in French). Of course, ella means she and it is a common suffix for female names. In Spanish, Cinderella is Cenicienta, where the prefix Cenici- comes from the Spanish word ceniza, meaning ash. Both the French and Spanish words for ash, cendre and ceniza share a similar origin, from the Vulgar Latin word cinis. So in all respect, Cenicienta, Cendrillon and Cinderella are all sort of related. Had English stuck with more pure Germanic language, Cinderella might have been something close to Aschenputtel. Perhaps something with ash and miss incorporated in there?
JAJAJAJAJAJAJJAJA c pasó

It cracks me up that the French guy was complaining about the German guttural "ch" sound when the French "R" is just as guttural and HARD AS HELL to get on a consistent basis (for me at least lol)
biggreenplanet hahaha I can understand why he would say that tho. like as someone who speaks French("Belgian French if that's even a thing) too, the R sound in German is even harder to pronounce xD also R sounds in Belgium are R stronger than the ones in France XDDD
wow dave should do R pronunciation around the world!

the people inside this video are so gorgeous!!! Especially the Spanish guy 😻😻
I can't agree more
Because we Spanish are the best
French and Spanish are from Latin so it's very similar I'm Brazilian, we speak Portuguese which is super similar to Spanish, we can understand some thing very well but not all. Like "Fruit" in Spanish and Portuguese is "Fruta" the same pronunciation, "Bicicleta" as well! It will be great if you make a video with a Spanish and Portuguese speakers together!
In Québec, we say "bicyclette". The French make fun of us because only old people in France say "bicyclette". The rest of the population say "vélo".
Spanish also has a XIX century word called "velocípedo" because the ancestor of modern bicycle was a french invention called "vélocipède" (from latin "fast feet"), which French language keeps shortened nowadays.
Some people joke around that Brazilean Portuguese sounds like Spanish spoken by French dude. If you ever listen to the modern Corsican language, which is an Italian language with huge French influence in the pronunciation, it sounds almost like Brazilian Portuguese at times. European Portuguese on the other hand sounds Russian.

"Est la plus jolie des enfants"

So we have two language families, Germanic and Romance
And then English which is confused as to whether it's a Germanic or Romance language, because so much of the vocabulary comes from French even though it's originally a Germanic language.
That's true, during the 18th century especially. But I didn't know you would say "Romance language" in English. In French, we prefer to say Latin language (same family as Spanish or Italian). German actually got a lot from Latin too ^^ (and so does English)

We say pommes in sweden as well! Or pommes frittes - pronounced "pom fritt".
In German we use the short version for French Fries which is „Pommes“, but long version would be „Pommes Frites“.
The french word for patatoes is « pommes de terre » wich means “apples from ground” or “apples from Earth” so it makes sense. However I had no idea the German language used a french idiom for “french fries” equivalent.
Pommes? In the North of France, they say pommes frites.

i think the biggest reason ( correct me if i am wrong) why french and spanish have similar words is because they both come from old latin language. Creo que la principal razón ( me corrigen si me equivoco) por la que el Francés y el español comparten palabras es porque ambas derivan del Latín.
No exactamente, la razón principal es porque son vecinos. Por ejemplo, la palabra ordenador viene del francés "ordinateur"
