Was born in 2003 and this hit real hard. 🤣 then nickelodeon started doing toilet breaks and that was revolutionary for me
People really think Gen Z doesn’t get that feeling. But I was born in 1997. It wasn’t really until around like 2004-2005 that TIVO and that stuff came out. So we still had to sit through everything and rush to the kitchen for a snack. Or run to get a blanket and hurry back before someone took your seat.

Yes! Being born at the end of 1993 I feel like I grew up with two different lives. I remember fixing the tape that had unwound with a pencil in the car while my Mum was driving and then going to a friend's house to play Zelda.
Yeah, we can understand both worlds somewhat. It was weird seeing the youngest person and oldest being uncomfortable about the changes because I grew up knowing both ways of technology because it was just starting to transition to the new stuff.
Yes! I remember using floppy disk during primary school then suddenly turned into CD during secondary and my cellphone also changed from nokia 3310 to motorola at some point. All throughout school years
I thought that was just how the world was supposed to be, with a bit of everything.
But it was a weird time to be still using floppy disks with 1/200 storage size of a CD-ROM.
Born on 88, had experience, tape, cd, walkman , mp3 to digital era. Its awesome. Psone, digimon and gameboy is my childhood.

Lol I can relate most to Sam's generation even when I'm much younger, I guess how technology develops in a certain country plays a role too

Sam is bringing back so many memories from growing up I also watched and listened to a lot of what Dave was saying but Sam’s were my childhood. Vai’s and Jaien’s I experienced through watching my kids grow up. I’d forgotten about a lot of the things Sam was saying! So many good memories!

I'm 96, I feel like for a few years in our generation there wasn't really anything new and significant so we just played and listened to all the stuff our older siblings did, either that or you (people in general) didn't have money to buy the latest stuff. I think for me, video gaming meant the Gamecube, PS2, Xbox 360 (although I only owned the gamecube), Gameboy Advance (SP), computer games like Starcraft, Age of Empires II, Space Cadet pinball lol, flash games, etc. I didn't listen to much music, but I don't think I missed out on 2000's music lol. I think our TV shows and games were good, I think once 2010's came around everything started dropping off in quality. I think they're starting to pick up again, but not like before. Now, it's just kind of like they realized they were cashing in too hard and put a little of the thought process back into our media and arts.

I was born in 97 and my niece was born in 99 and we both still have our Gameboy SP's! Both of my parents where born in the 50s so I grew up on the more old school things. I have memories of playing and watching things from the older generations. It was very weird having the mix of old and modern technology just lying around in your life.

I was born in 95, I'm from Alabama, and literally everything Dave listed hit me right in my nostalgic heart 😭😭😭😭 Ahh! Real Monsters was everything to me as a kid.
Also my favorite ritual as a teen was waking up early to watch charmed and then getting ready for school. My dad always had it on whenever he woke me up 💜 it was so nice 💜💜
I was born in 2007 . When Smartphone just hatched from the egg and the cartoons which were popular in my pre primary school were puff girls , Tom and Jerry and Doraemon was a legend. And in middle school , animes were becoming popular in my country . Dragon ball z kai was the most popular and Naruto was no exception too and shinchan is still popular among many kids.
If u say music , Than I was really into internet from very early age like 5 or 6 . (Tho my cousin is 3 only he use Samsung note 10 plus )
I listened to many local soloist In my region and internationally I listened to Katy perry , Madonna and maroon 5 in middle school later selena , ariana , marshmallow , alan walker were my bias .
Finally , I don't listen these now , I m really Into kpop music like Blackpink , BTS , Stray Kids , Twice, apink and soloist IU, Gdragon (Bigbang) .

I'm only a year older than Vai, but everything Dave talks about is my childhood too! Even some of Sam's stuff brought me back!
When I was a kid (born ‘92) I still played a lot of the games Sam mentioned... we didn’t have a lot of money LOL but I still miss those days - when life was still fun and people were simpler

I never realized Jaein is actually 3 years younger than me.....She has such a cool/mature air about her that I totally thought she and I were the same age (I’m 3 years older) or she was perhaps older than me.
