Quick explanation why different coins have different hit boxes. When designing sprites for a game it is good practice to put the sprite near the edge of the hit box. In this case Nintendo put it to the right side so when someone comes from the right the coin has an ever so slightly smaller chance of picking it up.
*Please like so Ceave Gaming sees this* An idea for skipping the 1 of the 3 coins in stonecrush tower would be to take advantage of the bubble hit box being larger than the player's hitbox. Have 2 blue toads and luigi on screen. Pop yellow and blue toad, bubble luigi, get blue and yellow toad to the first coin, bubble yellow toad, have blue toad pop yellow toad when yellow toad is holding down. So this is the shortest path through the game, all the timer points have been proven to be required with our current knowledge of the game, and the bowser switch is necessary to progress further into the game. So what this means is that the only points that are "obstacles" rather than "progress triggers" are the 300 points in stone crush tower. 3 coins stand between us and true perfection. Put a bounty on it.
my personal headcannon is that while making his way to bowsers castle the point total is actually the total amount of damages he has to pay to the locals, and ceave is trying to lessen the amount of things he kills/steals so he has to pay less

Where has the time gone? So much has happened since then, both good and bad. When I first saw this video, I had no idea what would happen. I feel so bad for me in the alternate timeline that never discovered this video.
With the last 300 points from the coins, you MIGHT be able to do some crazy bubble manipulation between toad and Luigi/Nabbit where they pop each other in spots where there aren't any coins. Not sure really how you would do it and how hard it would be, but you also have to watch out for the floor and ceiling crushing you. Seems like this could be something tested with TAS before trying for hours on end to try to get it yourself.
The coins rise up in two spots where you can stand underneath, if you could pop toads bubble there, put luigi/Nabbit in a bubble, and maybe somehow get under the next spot where the coins rise up
Ive never played Luigi U so I dont know, but if its an option you could add another player to get under the second rise of coins the same way you did the first time.... Maybe?
Now to route the entirety of Ceave Gaming's channel with as few "I give up" fake outs as possible. I think about five are unavoidable but you can definitely shave off a large chunk of them. (Hoooray)

Remember in your coinless playthrough on Luigi U you used the mini mushroom to avoid those 3 coins? That’s likely possible to use by getting a mini mushroom via toad house in world 5 then using on the tower. Maybe subtracts 300 points from the 5000 only. Edit: I realized timer points

There is one way to make the run EASIER (not lower the point value). If you wait for the card symbols to go away from the magic blocks, they don't spit coins everywhere If you want to see this in action, look at the green block at 18:04.
To reiterate, boost star mode, the think that allows for pointless boss battles, only activates when you land on 10 card platforms in a row before their symbols disappear.
Giin you only need that mechanic for when you need to use boost star mode, like for killing a boss. There are parts of other levels where he is using the platforms solely to move around the level and to avoid things.
For anyone wondering, if we assume that the single frame glitch is possible and the game can be beat with 0 timer points, I did the math and this is what that would amount to The video shows 18 stages worth of 50 timer points each, so multiplying 18 by 50, we get 900 So in theory, the lowest possible score in reality is 5200 - 900 = 4300
And since the 3 coins can be skipped with very precise timings with toad/mini Mushroom from accessible toad house given to toad the actual lowest score would be 4000, that one stupid P switch

Great vid! Earlier, I had tried to beat NSLU pointless, and was messing around with timer points, and landed on the pole at 0 seconds. Although it stopped stopped at 0, it doesn’t count down from 0. It starts counting down from 999, then fades to black after about 5 seconds. Pointless (XD) mechanic, but it is possible to hit the pole with 0 seconds left
I know this was from like 6 months ago but there is something like it if you bubble at the same frame as you hit the pole the camera will freak out (I'm bad at explaining things so I suggest you look up a video on it) just something cool I was reminded of (yes I am referring to NSMBwii)
in the first level you can save 1200 points by going to the flag pole in 1 second! before the timer reaches 1 second make a magical block staircase. when you reach the top, tap the same place where the 1st magical block was put on the top until it reaches 1 second!

Could you use 3 player to skip stone crush tower? First you would have Luigi wait for toad to be under the coins then spawn a third character and pop him before the tower crushes toad. That would theoretically skip at least 2/3 coins.
As soon as you tap a character out of their bubble, they are launched upwards, so they would hit the coins above them. Additionally, the ceiling and floor are attempting to crush Luigi, so waiting is no option

Ceave, can’t you just be using a mini-mushroom form the map inventory? That doesn’t grant any score point as far as I know, and it can be an easy way past the tower coins.

Hey question, there's no mushroom house in the run is there? Remember when this was just a coinless and the three coins in stone crush tower were avoided? What if we do that again? I know, the mini mush would be 1000 points to compensate for 60 that we avoid. But what if we get the 2nd level normal exit. We'd unlock the first tower which we don't want. But also the first mushroom house. In that mushroom house we could get a mini mushroom to the inventory. And grabbing power ups from the inventory doesn't lend points. So get this: Complete the 2nd level normally, go to the mushroom house and get a mini mushroom, get all the way to stonecrush, apply the mini to Toad, Drop out the toad, play the level normally as nabbit and once you get to the three coins, make toad drop in (I think players that drop out with a power up keep it when they drop in again), bubble nabbit, make the section coinless as mini toad just like you did with the coinless run. And that's even less score. Kablamo!
The problem with this is you'd have to beat 1-2 twice (50 points each time) to get both the normal and secret exit. It cuts out 10 points altogether. So still less, but only 10 points less.

Remember in your coinless playthrough on Luigi U you used the mini mushroom to avoid those 3 coins? That’s likely possible to use by getting a mini mushroom via toad house in world 5 then using on the tower. Maybe subtracts 300 points from the 5000 only.
Edit: I realized timer points
If he gets the mini mushroom from a mushroom house, then uses it in his inventory, he won’t get any points

There is one way to make the run EASIER (not lower the point value). If you wait for the card symbols to go away from the magic blocks, they don't spit coins everywhere If you want to see this in action, look at the green block at 18:04.

To reiterate, boost star mode, the think that allows for pointless boss battles, only activates when you land on 10 card platforms in a row before their symbols disappear.
Giin you only need that mechanic for when you need to use boost star mode, like for killing a boss. There are parts of other levels where he is using the platforms solely to move around the level and to avoid things.

For anyone wondering, if we assume that the single frame glitch is possible and the game can be beat with 0 timer points, I did the math and this is what that would amount to
The video shows 18 stages worth of 50 timer points each, so multiplying 18 by 50, we get 900
So in theory, the lowest possible score in reality is 5200 - 900 = 4300
And since the 3 coins can be skipped with very precise timings with toad/mini Mushroom from accessible toad house given to toad the actual lowest score would be 4000, that one stupid P switch

Great vid! Earlier, I had tried to beat NSLU pointless, and was messing around with timer points, and landed on the pole at 0 seconds. Although it stopped stopped at 0, it doesn’t count down from 0. It starts counting down from 999, then fades to black after about 5 seconds. Pointless (XD) mechanic, but it is possible to hit the pole with 0 seconds left
Maybe this can be used as a party trick if you really master it

in the first level you can save 1200 points by going to the flag pole in 1 second! before the timer reaches 1 second make a magical block staircase. when you reach the top, tap the same place where the 1st magical block was put on the top until it reaches 1 second!

Could you use 3 player to skip stone crush tower? First you would have Luigi wait for toad to be under the coins then spawn a third character and pop him before the tower crushes toad. That would theoretically skip at least 2/3 coins.
You can dodge them with the mini mushroom to but you must have luck and then you can dodge all

As soon as you tap a character out of their bubble, they are launched upwards, so they would hit the coins above them. Additionally, the ceiling and floor are attempting to crush Luigi, so waiting is no option

Hi, awesome video as always, for 12:31 another way i found is the bowser hand will stop at one of the blocks you can place on the gamepad, making ot easier and not having to do precise jumps.

Ceave, can’t you just be using a mini-mushroom form the map inventory? That doesn’t grant any score point as far as I know, and it can be an easy way past the tower coins.

Hey question, there's no mushroom house in the run is there?
Remember when this was just a coinless and the three coins in stone crush tower were avoided? What if we do that again? I know, the mini mush would be 1000 points to compensate for 60 that we avoid. But what if we get the 2nd level normal exit. We'd unlock the first tower which we don't want. But also the first mushroom house. In that mushroom house we could get a mini mushroom to the inventory. And grabbing power ups from the inventory doesn't lend points.
So get this: Complete the 2nd level normally, go to the mushroom house and get a mini mushroom, get all the way to stonecrush, apply the mini to Toad, Drop out the toad, play the level normally as nabbit and once you get to the three coins, make toad drop in (I think players that drop out with a power up keep it when they drop in again), bubble nabbit, make the section coinless as mini toad just like you did with the coinless run. And that's even less score. Kablamo!

The problem with this is you'd have to beat 1-2 twice (50 points each time) to get both the normal and secret exit. It cuts out 10 points altogether. So still less, but only 10 points less.

Damian Pratt if you collect items in toad houses, you can eat them outside of stages, and thus, no points added
sadly, the only toad houses available in this route (world 5, 1st one in world 7) don't have mini mushrooms. They just have mushrooms, fire flowers, and stars.
