If they were £500 I'd think about it, but otherwise it's a lot of money on an unknown brand. I'd also be concerned about safety. What stops the high dc voltage grounding/leaking if something went wrong inside? If these were released by Nissan (unlikely) or maybe an owners group with their name on it and it had been tested and certificated to say it was safe, I'd feel more confident getting one.
There's another one that is £570 ish. These things have CE approval, I'm not sure what further assurance you'd need. I've tested this one and continue to test another brand. No safety issues so far. I tested one in London in biblical rainstorm recently. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little worried, but I'm here talking about it :)
@@NissanEVOwnersUK £570? where? Do you have details? Have you/could you run a video test on that? And a CE approval would be fine, but I am just wary of aliexpress after being stung with a fake phone charger a few years ago.
@@TheGramophoneGirl It's £590, I couldn't remember the exact figure. It's on my Facebook group, link below facebook.com/groups/634508453321920/permalink/8231916443581045/
Thanks for sharing, is there a list of known working charger brands/networks for the UK? It would be great to see it in action on Ionity, Applegreen and open Tesla chargers.
They are testing on Tesla in the coming days. It failed to work on an ancient Polar BP Pulse machine but I think that was dead anyway. I asked BPP to reboot it and it never came back so we went somewhere else.
@@NissanEVOwnersUK thanks for your reply, I'll keep an eye out for updates. I'm keen to see how it goes, although I don't public charge often this would be a great thing to have if it worked on the majority of chargers for peace of mind on those longer journeys.
Ionity works fine ,we have testing video. We don't Applegreen station photos. Applegreen should be a running company, we don't whether we have tested the manufacture stations. And Tesla charger in Finland we tested. So should be working in UK.
Interesting! Did you try it in multiple makes of CCS chargers? What are the wires hanging from the adaptor for? I appreciate you guys were fighting the elements but a step by step walk through of the complete charging process would have been appreciated so any difficulties in connection between vehicle and charger could have been observed and taken in to consideration if people are interested in purchasing an adaptor. There is a guy in Florida who purchased an adaptor and who posts on RUclips (warts and all) his attempts and the difficulties he is having trying to get his adaptor working. Results are disappointing for the guy so far. Where within the UK are they being sold?
Thanks for sharing, also we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

And I'm guessing they're fine with a ZE1 leaf?
@@TheGramophoneGirl yes. No difference.

I'm a leaf 20 Tekna E owner. I would never purchase something like that for 1000 pounds, just insaine. Plenty of Chademo chargers around still.
Won't be for long
Yes, but you've got twice the battery capacity of mine. You don't need to charge as often.

With this particular one, we tried a BP charger that was broken before we got there, and a Sainsbury Smart Charge Kempower unit that worked perfectly.
