Today I finally reviewed my 1995 Honda Civic Del Sol Si... It has a D16 engine with VTEC and LOVES TO REV UP!!!! I cannot explain how much I love this car. Crazy that I didn't realize it was my dream car until after I bought it.
Watch some awesome footage of me drive this thing around and give a comprehensive review in under 10 minutes!
I do not own rights to music:

Comment Below if you think I should keep her stock or mod her :D
if you want more fun mods helps m8
mod it! first thing you should do is lower it on good coilovers.
Tool Nation boost the b16 you will love it
I love my 96 del sol. 5 speed and no power steering. I've also done a lot of mods. Still my daily driver too. I would say, tint the windows and get a strut bar. Dels are known for a little body roll.
Fort worth, tx!?!?
Your enthusiasm has me on Craigslist right now lol
No fr like where’s mine @?!😭
I couldn't stop staring at that red thread in your hair.
LOL came from my visor haha
i love it♡
remember to lock the door..
hell yeah. del sols are sick man.
I agree 100%! Easily one of the most slept on cars around
Dude no fair those are rare now i cant even find one now a days
Impossible to find anymore
Nice ride. My wife and I own two. When you start modding remember the less stock it is the less likely a dealership will agree to try to diagnose problem it has. And take it from my experience there can be issues the online community and local mechanics don't have a clue about and Honda could be your last chance to fix her.
I'm around 400whp and climbing, welcome to the Del Sol family brother!
Damn!! lol what all mods you have bro?
Eagle rods and pistons, high compression 12:1, Elderbrock intake manifold, ram hor manifold, Garrett T04E .57 trim, HKS bov, Tial wastegate, 650cc injectors, mitsuko stage 3 clutch, ultra lightweight flywheel and a few other things.
Holy hell lol if you are ever in the DFW area I'd love to take a ride in that monster!
I'd be more than happy to take out a fellow Del Sol enthusiast, hell you can drive her if you'd like my dude.
Tonsil Tickler you running a b16? I got a B16A in my EH6
I just bought one for 600.00 best interested thing i have bought.
125 thousand miles
That’s a crazy good deal man! Enjoy it
Just a gorgeous car. Saw a white one at work the other day in the parking lot and was captivated.
I used to have a red 1989 Toyota MR2. This great video certainly took me back to it--the T-Tops were very similar to the top on the Del Sol and they slipped right behind the two seats. Genius. And such a lightweight, incredible ride.
I just bought my second Honda, and RSX type S and I'm in love. Driving that thing is a dream come true
Great video man! Also good job on the camera work and editing. I used to own a del sol and i really share your love and enthusiasm for the car. I never got why people show no respect for it but im not a car enthusiast so i assume they have their reasons. All i know is that i had a lot of fun driving mine, got a ton of compliments on its looks, and it never gave me any issues. I got it up to 240k miles, it was my first car, and i was a lousy driver so, i always forgot to change the oil, or do tune ups in general, i crashed it once, some crashed onto it when it was parked, they tried to steal it twice, and that car just kept on going. Unfortunately i had to sell it because i was in dire need of cash but once i can afford one ill get me one as a daily driver. If you keep it in the condition that its in that think will keep its value for ages, a well maintained crx from the 90s will run you 3 to 4k if its stock. And a stock del sol will also sell for 4k , since i started looking ive noticed the prices go up on them. So yeah man, definitely keep it stock. And dont sell it unless you sell it to me.
Lol man you got me laughing super hard over here!! I’m glad the cat provided so much joy to you over those years man. It’s crazy how everyone has such a different, personal story with their Del sol
I'd keep it stock! It's great to see a "pure" example with a few personal touches (the red badges are spot on). Cracking car. The only reason I'm not seriously considering buying one of these Del Sols is because I know I'd miss my old MX-5 too much!
man your review made me fall in love with the del sol
This is better than the Regular Cars review
I own a 96 honda del sol si as well. I love driving it.
They're so much fun man
Is it realiable buyin a 94 DEl Sol nowadays? I got one on sight. A black one. I fell in love with it but i'm a little bit confused about purchasing an old car. even though it's well maintained. Thx!
El Eze it’s reliable and the Manuel version is very good on gas. There’s nothing wrong owning an old car. Most of the time it’s more reliable than a new car lol. From my experience
I really appreciate your answer. The Del Sol i want has 126k miles. But it looks brand new. The owner really took care of it and it's 23 years old!
i find very interesting that the gearbox has short shifts! That's sick
So after watching this video about a month ago you helped convince me that I needed to get my hands on a White Del Sol. Hard to find but struck gold on a 1995 D series VTEC with clean title and almost flawless both interior and exterior. Flying out to Florida tonight to go get it then driving it back to Denver, CO. Will be staying in Dallas Friday night. Bought my 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 in Fort Worth so definitely looking forward to being in Texas again. What A Burger is definitely on my list lol.
This is actually awesome to hear lol the list of good burger spots in Dallas is infinite lol let me get back to you
I bought one of these today. They are even better than you say in your video!!!
I have a 95 Del Sol, running strong. Rebuilt Engine, Rebuilt transmission about 7 years ago, replaced a lot of parts, etc..
Runs great and is fun!!
I've always loved the Del Sol I've always thought of it as the baby S2000. I think you should personalize it to what u like maybe not with all the bumper kits and stuff but rims and motor for sure.
+Korey Duff LOL baby S2000 is the perfect way to put it!! I think you're right about adding some personal touch to it too
since the del sol came out first, the s2000 is a bigger del sol.
great to see someone that has another car like Mustang that also has respect for a Honda also. not many cars can replace a car on sunny day with roof off and there wasnt many hardtop comvertables. i drive HRV as my main ride but wanted something better on fuel also, HRV not too bad around 37/38mpg but then i remember these CRX and had to get one, VTI model in UK with Transtop roof which driving careful can do upto 43mpg. ive also got a Samba Green one with manual roof like this. love what Honda do and reliability, ive modded my HRV to 1.5 vtec-e but need to mod gearbox now then i should see 50mpg from 4x4 and tempted to mod CRX the same. I like my Sol stock but a nice set of wheels dont hurt man. agree its awesome to hear so many others appreciate these cars
Really fun review . You're a good speaker 👍 really want to get a Del Sol to use alongside my 307,000 mile 98 civic lol
Thank you for the complement. 307,000 miles is crazy! Lol you must take good care of your car
@@africanabbey I've owned it since 290,000 haha . It's actually been in a crash before and two tree branches have fallen on it but it still looks nice and keeps going ,gonna use it until it dies if ever but I really want a del Sol. The all glass targa tops look so good
should I get the del sol as as my first car?
+Martina Rodriguez as long as you get one that's been well taken care of, yesss :D
im in the same boat haha :P
Martina Rodriguez don't rice it
Absolutely.
Martina Rodriguez if having two seats isn't a problems then go for it
This guys energy is unmatched
Also another cool thing about these cars, youre going to easily be using all 120+ horsepower and you wont be going over the speed limit, where as if you have a car with lots of HP, its hard to use all that HP without breaking the law>
I have a '93 white Del Sol. Love it to death. A lot of people may not think it's something but it's sure something to me. That's all that matters. Keep having fun with it man. Keep it stock. #Over30MPGWithoutEvenTryin
Man I didn't realize just how many people really love their Del Sol as well! I'm gunna have as much fun with it as possible with this thing. Hopefully, the engine never gives up on me.
I'm in love with your car. I would really get use your advice man. I want to buy a 94 Del Sol so bad. On one hand i like it but on the other hand i think about we are in 2017 and the engine may not be realiable takin into account it's 23 years. Congratulations again on your car!
+El Eze thanks man! I think it’s an amazing secondary car to have. So maybe like during the week to work here and there.
Awesome very tidy neat example, very well presented video, love your honesty not everyone loves them but each to their own as they say, I think they are a beautiful little car you can do so much or not leave them stock and they are still a cool little car, Hopefully mine I picked up almost 12 months ago I can get nice and clean as yours is, in Australia parts are a pain in the bum to find but anyways awesome mate have a good one :D.
Thanks for watching man!! Glad you enjoyed! Good luck on your search for parts in Australia
My man! kicking it ol skool
Yessir! Living that stock life haha
What is in that brother's hair? Haha. Had one in my 20's. Truly is a fun ride. The best of everything in this review!
nice purchase man. i also just got a 95 SI in Frost White, just like yours about 2 weeks ago. My dad had one brand new in 93 and i've loved them since them. I had a 93 back in 02 which didn't last too long. Wanted another for the past 15 years and finally pulled the trigger. so far i've lowered it, added an exhaust and intake, redid the audio and fixed a couple minor issues. working on redoing the seats as they were well worn and rust fix is next.
Man! Seems like this is a car that has really made a deep impression on your life. I'm glad you pulled the trigger on a new one! How're the mods holding up? Sadly my Del Sol broke down today lol I think I jinxed myself with this video and saying how reliable she is, but I still love her :)
Mods are going good. She isn't my daily driver. I was worried about the ride comfort after i lowered it but i did it right on coilovers this time, the exhaust is a little loud too, but i love it. Hope your mechanical gremlin isn't anything major.
Thanks really cool. I'm glad but surprised that lowering it didn't hurt the ride quality. What kind of coils did you get? I think it's just an issue with the ignition coil though.
Tool Nation I got tein full coilovers. they allow for a three inch drop, I went half way.
I'm glad bro I love my 95 del sol as well
I miss my Del Sol. Was emerald Green, 92. Bought it in 08 as my first car.
I really want to buy another one just to have. About to swap my Elantra for a 17 f150 ecoboost so it will be nice for those longer trips i dont need the truck.
That F150 ecoboost is nice! My brother is shopping for one now
There are certain cars that I just love and can't explain it. This is definitely one of them. Probably second to the 7th Gen Toyota Celica GT-S as a dream first car. I found one near me on Facebook, and I'm definitely keeping my eye on it... I'll tag you on my first insta post if I get it along with #DelSolGang- be on the lookout!
I had a blue 1993 back in the early 1999-2000 I can’t remember...ind d the rims, system and exhaust...it was the funnest car I ever had...I lost the cops here on Cape Cod 2 times...I couldn’t put the top in the truck because of my 3 JL 12”s...I do really miss that car
LOL 😂
love your spirit bro! blessings💪 btw i found one for cheap i fell in luvvv imma have to copp😤😬
I’m a 94 Del Sol owner. I love the VTEC and it’s stock for now, but not for long. My dream car is an s2k 😍 but I’m in love with my Sol too 😉
Thanks super cool!! What all are you planning to do to it?
Got the A Team song playing in the backdrop.
Bruh I'm in the same boat with my 2000 Miata. Don't listen to the haters, love what you love. Miatas and Del Sols are the best cornering sports cars for the money.
Great review! One question: how tall are you? I’m 6,2ft tall and I wonder if I fit inside the car! #lol thanks
finally grabbed one. Black 93 Si 188k miles for 1200 !
have an 1997si del sol, love it man!
It looks good bro!!
I love my del sol S. Mines stuck with a D16Y7, But with my y8 Mani and some bolt-ons, it's a blast to drive..
Always a blast to drive man.. Definitely keeps you smiling huh?
Buying one in a year to build I’m so excited !
FYI the targa top locks on top of the rack in your trunk (not under). The metal rack lifts up so you can lift the targa top and still have most of the trunk space underneath.
Did I say it goes under in the video? Oops lol thanks for the correction
Damn this makes me want one..would have maybe gone for it if i didn't buy my 99 hatch
That pull to eject tag is so dope
Favorite daily I've owned? My Del Sol 😂
Sick vid I’m finna grab one of these fr
Bruh i want this car and this guy to be my friend! This dude really loves his car!
I wish I could find me a clean one!! Yours is dope!!
love the vid. Still waiting on the mbrp race exhaust review!!!!!!
Thanks!! I'm still working to get the audio set up right so that it records well.
Hey man, the MBRP race exhaust sound clip will be up tomorrow! Hope you like it.
I like your del sol. Question fid you put those wooden arm rests in the door panel? Cause I'd love some of those for mine. Mines a 93. Lightly modded with 15" sparco rims. Just wondering if those wooden plays were a stock option or not.
Thanks for the compliments! I got the wooden arm rests custom done by an upholstery guy in Texas because my arm rests were destroyed when I bought the car.
Dude your awsome love your vids
Thanks man!!
Good review. Where did you get the seats? I need to replace my seats at the material on the seats is worn out.
Dude, you have it good over there, 15 bucks to fill it up. Costs me $80 NZD roughly $55 USD and I'll burn through that in about a week with my commute.
ABSOLUTELY Magnificent
I daily drive a 94 Prelude Si on lowering springs and it sucks lol. Can’t get through any snow in winter, and every bump in the road feels horrible. But it looks good
Lmfaooo anything for the right stance bro
Thanx Man I'm getting one now !
You’re really going to enjoy it
American version: 02:10
Japanese version: Let me show you what simple is(proceeds to initiate 1992 transformer transformation)
I’m about to buy a red 1993 del sol, can’t wait
sony audio and a soft... maybe some nicer rims and you are done
I just bought a 1995 it's so sick 🔥
Congrats and enjoy!!!
Nice car man, thanks for showing.
im trying to sell my chevy malibu and buy a honda del sol.i love these little cars.thanks posting this video
No problem bro! Good luck with your sale. I think you’ll love the Del Sol.
looks so good with top off
I will keep an eye out for you! I have a stock red 95 in Saginaw Texas
Ima buy one and I’m in Arlington
Good review!
Do you still have yours? I live in Dallas just picked up a 1 owner, I absolutely love these cars took me a good year waiting for one to pop online 😂
Really clean car, Im currently looking for one my self, but i want the 160hp one
Love these cars so much I have not 1 not 2 but 3 ... no kidding. Sorry if this sounds like a brag but I am so proud and love them so much.
Each is different varying from Manual to Auto, Traction Control, Climate Control, Ski Rack, Driving lights, Gathers Tweeters and speaker package, Airbag, ABS and even Traction Control.
The more I drive them and compare their durability, simplicity, real world economy and lack of manufacturer control to the newer cars, the more I love it even more.
All are original Japanese imports with SiR designations, B16a engine and all with Transtop. All are original and unmolested.
To future proof them and safe guard my future driving pleasure I have complete front cut backup engines (all ancillaries like distributor, power steering pump, alternator etc just drop and go) B16a engine for originality, a B18c engine for a factory look and reliability upgrade and back up Manual and Auto transmissions to keep them going with no stress. Also have multiple factory roof motors and gears for lifetime of trouble free Transtop use.
So hard to get these cars unmolested and back up parts that original Japanese which have not been abused, reconditioned, illegally sourced or worn out. Will be driving these till the end of time and have the parts to keep them going.
To keep me busy and to keep them looking and feeling current, I have a lifetime of future upgrades available starting with rare single din Video monitor, DVD, Back up camera and CD yes that is right I still love my CD and Blue tooth stereo all in a single DIN (rare now). Then turning it up to factory full set Red and Tan Motegi and Daytona interiors, 4x sets of S2000 seats, clear headlights, blackhoused headlights, twin dual exhausts for all (real not faux quad exhaust) and Glass roofs for all.
i want a del sol or an ek coupe, not sure but both are so dope!
Im from Denton Bro, moved to Australia recently. Del sols are HUGE in the modding scene here. super great climate for it here.
I have a question for ya, Whats your favorite affordable (like the del sol) compact sport car?
My favorite compact sports car would probably have to be a 95 Acura Integra. My dad has one when I was like 12 and it was the first “fast” car I ever rode in lol
Had a stick 96 del sol stick shift. Definitely a head Turner. It's the most fun car I ever had
List of cars I had
1. 1995 3000 gt Mitsubishi
2. 1987 rx7 stock
3. 1996 del Sol (most fun)
4. 1992 Acura Integra
5. 2004 Mitsubishi eclipse 3.0 very fun
6. 2003 VW GTI extremely fun with turbo
7.2014 Honda Civic
Del Sol is constantly in my mind. Need to get my hands on another. Vtech if possible.
As soon as, I finish the paper work on this Honda Civic. I will be on the hunt for a Del Sol!!
Jesus it's a beautiful car 🚗!
Nice car. Will be a collectible n classic soon
Let’s hope so. They’re starting to be hard to come by in good condition.
What happened with "the GT350 is the favorite car" ?? XD Joining the jdm life?... Lets race it with the Evo :o lol... Great vid fam..
Lol don't be fooled... GT350 is still the dream car :D
This is going to be my first car soon. After I finish drivers ed of course, which should be soon. Is it true that they leak though?
Yeaaaa unfortunately they do leak pretty bad when it rains.. not bad enough to kill you, but you may get a drop of water on your shoulder lol
Hopefully this gets a reply but I was wondering, how does she hold up when its raining? I've heard that Del Sol's main issues was that the roof leaked pretty bad... thinking of getting one myself as my first car. Great video and now I want one even more.
So it really depends on the specific Del Sol you get. I was lucky and my Targa top never leaked. Others are not so lucky and theirs do leak.
@@africanabbey It depends on the year of the car, I believe it was the 95 model where they fixed issues with the leaking roof. Awesome video by the way, this is also a car I never realized I loved so much!
When my dad had his del Sol he could drive back and fourth to his work for 2 under empty.
Lol sounds about right man.. they are really good on gas
cool tool nat :)
Hey You know there is a button that takes the target top off automatically right? And I'm about to get one next week. I'm so excited lol
Unfortunately this feature only came on a limited number of Del Sols. Most are manual top though.
Just bought a 95 SI that runs and drives for $400 💪
I would change the sun visor with European ones. These are better and not just plastic. I wouldn't change the exterior of the car. A clean car still looks best. Especially with that beautiful white.
I think someone told me this before. I’ll have to look into it
very nice ride clean sounds like it has some exhaust work done to it
Yea, it's possible that the previous owner may have done some exhaust work
JDM Fenders and headlights look right. Almost looks like the Motegi interior. Glad you are loving the car. Put an ebay turbo on her to level up. Or Buy mine. I'll be selling my 8/8 del sol. Last project I'll ever do. Come to Austin, I'll let you review/drive mine. As I have said, I've built 8 Del Sols. I love them but gotta be done with the scene at this point. I got parts and stories if you wanna HMU.
You live in Texas and we basically make the same drive. I'm going to Lewisville but the gas thing just hit home. My bmw DRINKS gas. I'm looking for a second car and new daily. Just started reconsidering the del sol and you kinda convinced me lol
+Simba TheGreat lol I’m telling you this thing is the GOAT when if comes to fuel efficiency lol. If you’re okay with being in a small car that can only have 1 friend riding with you at a time, then it’s a perfect daily driver
Really thinking of getting one , there’s one with 160k miles , any concerns or things I should look out
I'm thinking about getting one, might put apple car play or just an iPad mini on the top dash for maps and bluetooth and stuff, or if I get a rear camera might do that too.
Lovely
I prefer my Honda to be stock and reliable. I don't have the racing tendencies. I have a 2004 RSX-S with only 37K miles on the odometer, but it's only a weekend car. My daily driver is a Hyundai Accent Blue, which gets really great miles per gallon. But stock cars always grab my attention over tuned, about-to-be-destroyed cars. My car is stock, but I add my little customizing cues to it, but still overall keeps the "clean" look. Anyway, nice Del Sol man!
I heard that when it rains that the top leaks through, is that true?
Looking to buy one but its a DOHC vtec(160 hp) and only has 50k miles. At 6 grand it seems like a good investment. Completely stock original owner
I found a Civic Si Del Sol for 3k. Should I buy it? Its been up for sale for a while.
I think $3k is lower than the average price I found in my area.. I can't say whether it'd be a good buy though because it's an older car and will most likely have issues at some point. I can say though that having a del sol is super fun!
P.S. If it is your only car, make sure you never need to take more than 1 person around lol
Donald Clinton 2020 3 K only for a b series del sol
If its in good condition
I've got an Onkyo surround system in my house. Nice car btw. Better stock.
whether or not you keep it stock i recommend you install JDM/EDM sun visors man!
super easy to install, those US visors are ass lol.
Make sure to buy the complete set(a pillars included)
Do you have a link bro? The US visors are a complete joke lolol
Tool Nation www.ebay.com/itm/372047842337
Make sure to get the two pillars as well.
Thanks brodie!
Dream car🚗🚗
Love this Video sou sou much. Thank you, please no commercials, this one time. Del Sol .... i cry ... i crx ... this and Flavor Flav safed my poor life. Del Sol means "created as an gift, as an sign of respect to the Sun. Our Mother. Lovely Greetings from Spalt in South Germany, a 6000 year old magic place from the celtic. Me and my lovely Girl Sun drive the 1996 Black Edition, "original condition by HONDA ". MY CRX DEL SOL was the 1992s Honda CRX Targa del Sol 1.6 ESi, 38 mm down layed via Sportsversion of dampers, NO!! Manual ... an automatic, 125 HP ... 225 kilometers per hour up to 232, between 5.9 and 7,2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. This beast was smashing me in my driving seat when i used "kickdown"-pedal technique. 🤩😎👹👻
The seats are definitely aftermarket. Otherwise its pretty mint. If you still have it, put Japanese spec sun visors in it. Theure so much better
Nice watch!
Saw an ad for one, all stock, 75k miles. Seller is asking ~$7300. What do you think? Kbb has it at $4000 for excellent condition.
