My all time favourite artist both for what you produce but also for the process there’s something about watching you just “go” that’s so cathartic and inspiring.
Love your work Ryan! I am 70 pages into my comicbook, right now I'm inking the first chapter. You with David Finch and Jim Lee have been my inspiration for making comics! Thanks and keep it up!
I'm not a beginner but I love taking advice from the masters wherever I can get it >:] but seriously Ryan as an artist your philosophies and hearing your thought processes helps me with my own, I really like seeing how you think!
Ryan you're my favourite artist.I'm 14 and I started learning 2 months ago. I can already draw pretty good characters. I hope I can draw like you one day. Anyways great drawing🎉🎉🎉
The key to understanding how to draw and improve is to constantly draw everyday. Make sure you have a sketchbook with you everywhere you go and draw what you see before you decide to go towards fantasy. Stay loose and draw fast.
Thanks for the tips! I was wondering if you could do a video wear you show how to draw the arms from different angles. Thanks. ( I did watch the other how to draw hand video but I didn’t know if it was the front or side. Anyways, thanks 🙏
Hi Ryan, I draw every single day for 4 years straight and I still struggle a lot with drawing eyes in a comic style. I can't seem to get out of the "amateur look". Like it does always looks unprofessional. It's so irritating it even became my art block sometimes. Artists like you, Jim Lee, Frank Cho or Swayart seem to have that face structure and eyes done to perfection. I do not get what to do... I am trying to make a comic book and learning how to draw in digital (just got a tablet) but frustration catches up.... I know I may not be the only one with this issue so I hope your answer helps me or someone else. Even if anyone knows something about this topic even. Thanks❤
I really appreciate the advice. I'm an old beginner in my 30's looking to learn to draw comics, and the advice about staying in sketch mode for longer is something I struggle with. I always feel like I'm on a timer for some reason. Thanks for the video!
@@ryanbnjmnart --- Long time, man! Hey, if you're taking ideas for future videos... The anatomy stuff's great and all --- but dude! Hook us up with some storytelling and layout tips, please! I *know* you spent time picking Frank Miller's brain... (not to mention Jim... and Whilce) you gotta share some! 😀
Drawing a long full beard video would be nice if ya haven't done one. I'm trying to draw a character with viking beard and having issues making it look decent.
Many people have trouble with hair. I had the same issue back in high school. just raw a bunch of "S" and "C" that will usually fix the issue. I will try to do a video on that.
Just wanted to let you know your discount code doesn't seem to be working on gumroad. Unless it's already been used up or something. The option to even input a discount code doesn't show up on the page.
@@ryanbnjmnart Sweet! It could be I just missed out on my chance since I was a little behind the ball. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out though I love your stuff and your focus on the fundamentals is awesome!
I am moving but I am keeping certain things in mind. Fundamentals, Lighting, Form, Distance: all in a gestural energetic line. Practice doing this with out looking at the detail, but looking at the whole silhouette first.
I teach on Proko if you want to learn from me: www.proko.com/s/nkat?af=019176
which has more in depth content? proko or newmaster?

Great video, Ryan. Keep them coming.
Drawing hats are hard
Think of it as a primitive first then convert it into a hat.
@@ryanbnjmnart Facts!!
I agree haha
Try Helmets... Like try drawing a soldier kevlar helmet with the right proportions. Its one of the hardest things I know

Good drawing overall though
I've just started drawing at the age of 61 and look at this and think I'll go back to gardening.
Noooo! LOL, Don't quit. You can do it. Try a little bit everyday.
Damn. That is amazing ❤
Aye. Ryan. We gotta save the planet dawg. They trippin' Get ready like I know you already are.
Yo Ryan do u have a ink or a sketch version of a comic?
Is the video sped up? Or its just how you draw?

Great stuff, Ryan!

The face kinda looks like Jim Lee's style.
Jim trained me for years. He was my boss at Wildstorm. Still friends to this day.
Hit me up bro! I got big ideas and skills man.
