The Denon DJ PRIME GO is a portable all-in-one DJ setup that doesn't require a computer or even a connected power source to work! The PRIME GO has an internal rechargeable battery and the music files connect via the SD card or USB slots. The Denon DJ PRIME GO shares the same screen, processing power, ENGINE OS, and Wi-Fi capabilities as the other PRIME flagship players and decks (SC5000/SC6000/PRIME2/PRIME4) which means users won't sacrifice performance in this smaller package.

Hi, do you need a laptop initially for software / firmware downloads or can this all be done from the device itself? Secondly, to buy / download music can this be done from the device itself Or do you need to download this onto the laptop then transfer over via a USB stick? Ideally, I want to get away with not using a laptop if I can.

You need a computer first to setup the music and then you can use the unit by itself...
I qould have that if it had line of phono connection to be able to use the mixer standalone if the person still has vynil or cd's and able to plug cdj's or turntables in. As sometimes like to play music instead of mixing or use the prime go if fancy doing mix. Same as the prime 2 the prime 4 is to big.

yo i make beats but i want to get into laying down my own scratches on my beats. would the prime go be good for a amateur?

Be careful making this your main setup. Make sure you have backup, denon players are not reliable. Mine arrived broken, the desks were unresponsive. I searched denon forum and some people were having same problem (the following peripheral did not come online). That was the second time denon equipment has failed me.

My gear has performed flawlessly for years. Every company has a faulty device from time to time.
3 years as my main setup not one problem.

A big heads up, Despite all of the things Prime Go can do it can't separate the VU on the master meter for individual channels.
This thing is a piece of crap if you can't even level your music. Buy something else until Denon gets their act together.
People have been on the forum bitching about this since April. No fix in sight. Garbage waste of time Prime Go is.
Are there any other standalone battery-powered, portable style DJ controllers on the market that are anywhere as good as this?
