I think the chip update is going to allow for future engine upgrades that won't be supported by the original.

The old model will probably no longer have new streaming services due to non-support of new DRM standards. This is the reason why it is better to buy a new model.

i like the prime go. i think i'll get the plus. i don't like the idea of buying these gears used. sometimes they look good but are really beat up.
