What I love is the form factor. I’m used to using synths and drum machines that are more or less the same size at the Go, very used to working with relatively small machines. For me this was the unit to get! And I’m fine with the small jog wheels. They’re smooth and precise. Sticking to the Black one though. :-)

I just wish they would bring out a new version of the Denon DJMC 4000 , there is a gap in the market for a compact (but professional) controller, the 4000 had it all really. the prime go is amazing, but overkill for some of us who dont really need the battery or the screen which adds weight and cost to it. we could do with the extra space for better jogs and longer pitch faders. a 4000 with some new intuitive stem features, now that would be a treat
There’s always been a lack of decent mid range controllers. There seems to be a jump from basic units all the way up to professional unit so I completely agree with you.

Amazon streaming requires a special security chip or function which the older units just dont have so although it looks similar there will be ever so slight hardware revisions.

i would like to know if it is possible to play video (mp4 files) on this unit as though they were regular audio files (since most of my music is in video format)
The usb ethernet dongle trick has been around for a while works on the sc lives. Probably e en the Numark. There is another one to adapter to the power of the Sc Live units that is usb and plugs into a usb battery if you wanted to take those mobile though I think the Numark and the Go are much better designed for that. That said it's a good hack to use if your power brick dies.
It's a slight shame they didn't partner with Skaa and include a built in transmitter for soundboks etc. That would have been a sweet upgrade that is missing from the omnis duo.
Tried out the bluetooth out on my prime go . It connects to my mackie thump go with no issue but it wont see either of my minirig 3 speakers have u teied connecting to yr mini rigs via bluetooth from the prime go?

I have had the original Go for years I love it, its great for a last min invite to a mates BBQ or take on holiday etc, I really don't see why they took the network port off, that probably saves them about 10p as the hardware will almost certainly still be capable of it and it probably still has the area on the board just with no connector. My only real annoyance with the Go is the 1 USB port if you have a couple of DJ's who want to use their own sticks you need to use a USB hub, they missed a great opportunity to add 1 or 2 more IMO. Im not a fan of the silver, I think the original looks better :)
Loved the original. One thing to beware of, the build is not as robust as it seems. Treat it as a FRAGILE ITEM and don't jostle it qround!! Especially the headphone controls on the front. Unfortunately mine broke along with some internal PCB boards somehow and it was unable to be fixed. Now i have reason to get this new one hehehe.
Oh, and the knobs and pitch faders as well. Not sure if I used it too much, but eventually they became unprecise. Can't even center the bpm on the pitch faders. Seriously not sure if I got a lemon. If you want to get this thing definitely get a strong protective case and cover.
Phil says "eethernet" like an American, but Mojaxx says "ehthernet" (or "aethernet," maybe). Is this just a regional UK difference in the pronunciation?
Funny story, I was in London recording the audiobook version of our "Rock the Dancefloor" DJ book last week, and working with the director of that production made me realise how many words I pronounced slightly differently to what might be seen as standard British English. It probably comes from living in Gibraltar - a long, long way from England - for many, many years now, where pronunciation is all over the place.
The Prime Go "looks" professional. But the Numark Mixstream Pro Go is actually more useful in real world professional environments. The Numark speakers are useful for practice, and monitors for small parties. The Numark also has bigger jog wheels, effects paddles, and most importantly its compatible with Serato.
I've asked them ever since they started this line of products to simply add the standard shift + cue to allow that to happen, but they won't, so you have to use the screen, unfortunately.
Engine as it was known from the start was a bit awkward and flawed, but as it has grown to engine DJ as it is known now as one of the best if not the best stabdalone operating systems in the world today. Thats my opinion angway.
Some people might say "use your ears" haha if I want to use ears only I will use records to mix. If I mix digitally I want to see waveforms and sound levels.
I'm surprised how many people say this because ultimately, if you leave the gains at about 12 o'clock and then use the master to get the volume nice and loud on the master meter, you won't ever have any problems - and that's coming from using the unit for many, many years. I understand that people like to have that visual feedback, but it's a tiny portable unit. It's not meant to be a full-size DJ controller.
spent many many days on the road with the og and often showed up to gigs with Pioneer gear, used this and exceeded the capabilities of the house setup. i definitely don’t need an upgrade but also glad they’re continuing this line
This is a big missed opportunity from Denon imo. If they had of made a unit with similar dimensions and and layout with something like the Omnus Duo, with engine Dj it would have been the undisputed king of battery powered controllers and would have had their units flying of the shelves. Made my decision now easy, to buy a mixstream Go as I was holding of for a prime go 2.
One of the unique selling points of this was its size, and the Omnis Duo is notably bigger, so I guess they decided they wanted to keep it exactly as it was.
@digitaldjtips Yes size is nice but a lot of people didn't like the layout of EQ's. I could live fine with the jogs maybe the same unit with a more traditional layout I think it would have been a nicer complimentary unit to the OG Go.
Pretty disappointing coming from an extended use with the Prime Go, to the same thing in "Nostalgic TechNerd Grey". I've never used up my battery doing a marathon 3+ hour set with mine, it's not really what they're made for. Adding 25% more battery and one streaming service is hardly worth spending money on. Did they upgrade the processor in it? No advertising about that, which is a CRITICAL requirement. Not hating on it at all, I love the Prime Go. Just really expected a more significant, modern and polished unit.
Black text on grey 🤦♀? Looks like the usability of the old design was better with white on black. Once you know the device of course you'll remember what is where.
This is disappointing in that it's not much of an improvement. I do see their possible logic though: 1. Not wanting previous users to feel completely left behind and 2. Parts are a regular complaint about Denon gear. The less the hardware changes significantly, the easier it is to maintain stock on parts. I have the original and as an electronic DJ, I'm not bothered about the jogs, even though they're not great. I've carried mine in my backpack across countries and flights over the past couple years.
@@digitaldjtips I mean, for streaming we have some security thanks to pre-buffering. But for Ableton Link with Akai units… ough… anyway, once again, thanks Mr. Phil! 👍
@@digitaldjtipsMaybe a reflection of how little impact the Omnis Duo had made. But I have one and it’s fantastic - as a backup and using when the equipment at a venue is sub par. Plug in my USB and away I go.
no point in upgrading tbh. Amazon music is a bit...meh. I wish they'd have put led levels on each channel, that's my only bugbear. With different volumes on tracks its hard to get levels correct without.
Oh no, definitely not - that's why they just called it a Plus. It's the same controller with a couple of small changes. What they have done, though, is show faith in it and show that it's not going to be out of date anytime soon, which of course is great for all owners of the old one.

funny how nobody crying that denon is not listening to the consumer. Where is the innovation - is denon done?? Im being sarcastic because this is the lamest update to a product that if they made a few tweaks could have blown away the competition. They added amazon music which 90% of real DJ's couldnt give a crap about. Just sayin lots of pioneer / alpha crying but why not the same fort this waste of an update from Denon. They didnt address the terrible jog wheels, weird layout, screen angle etc.... Mixstream pro go blows this away minus a few inputs and Denon branded additional FX's.
Because InMusic have been releasing regular firmware updates that continually improve people's existing products.... whereas Alpha do absolutely nothing in that respect. Keep an eye out for the next version of the Firmware, im sure its on its way soon enough.
Again, it wasn't really in need of a fix - if you look at this the other way, this is a product that was way ahead of its time and is still desirable today. DJ gear doesn't need to completely reinvent itself every 18 months, and I don't understand this need for that to happen among hobby DJs. It's just a tool to do the job, which is the real reason we're all doing this, right?
@@digitaldjtipsagree with you. My sarcastic comment was just to show that everyone bashing anything pioneer releases nowadays but not same for denon. This is a great unit but the new one really is the exact same with the latest tech added. Please see XDJ AZ for same thing yet entire denon fan base ripped it. No innovation. Change. Seems the hate is just to hate. I love all gear and have numark. Denon and pioneer gear. Each has its plus and minus.
Yeah but they ain’t trying to pass it off as a Prime Go 2 that’s the difference lol. It’s a Prime Go + which I expect most Denon users would know its just a small update. I’m saying this as someone that is not a Denon fan too. It’s nice to get the Plus refresh in between Prime 4 and Prime 4 + and now the Prime Go and Prime Go + etc. Every Denon fan will know without research that the name of this device doesn’t mean its a new device, I mean did lol. There ain’t a doubt about who is more innovative with their products if it was between Pioneer or Denon. It just depends on if you want to stay with club or an other type of DJ. Check out some of Denons sister company that make Numark you will see the same trend continues with the Mixstream Pro and the Mixstream Pro + Once you hear the word plus it says that its not a new board just a refresh.

It has got slightly improved internals, so hopefully there will be an improvement there
I have had the original Go for years I love it, its great for a last min invite to a mates BBQ or take on holiday etc, I really don't see why they took the network port off, that probably saves them about 10p as the hardware will almost certainly still be capable of it and it probably still has the area on the board just with no connector. My only real annoyance with the Go is the 1 USB port if you have a couple of DJ's who want to use their own sticks you need to use a USB hub, they missed a great opportunity to add 1 or 2 more IMO. Im not a fan of the silver, I think the original looks better :)
I guess you could have your music on the SD and leave the USB for other DJs.
@@digitaldjtips Yeah true but you get more bang for your buck with USB drives/SSD's and they are faster with larger librarys
Sorry to hear that
Phil says "eethernet" like an American, but Mojaxx says "ehthernet" (or "aethernet," maybe). Is this just a regional UK difference in the pronunciation?
Funny story, I was in London recording the audiobook version of our "Rock the Dancefloor" DJ book last week, and working with the director of that production made me realise how many words I pronounced slightly differently to what might be seen as standard British English. It probably comes from living in Gibraltar - a long, long way from England - for many, many years now, where pronunciation is all over the place.
adam d3v review plz
Thanks for the idea.
@@digitaldjtips your welcome please make a video
The cue and play are slightly off putting! I’ve been instituted to Pioneer lol! However, nice looking bit of kit
There’s a lot to get used to here apart from that, but you do
Is there a split cue option?
Yes, it's in the settings.
@@digitaldjtipsThanks. So when I want to switch often I need to change settings each time? Or can I map it to a button?
@@escay You can't map any buttons, but the quick menu is just a quick swipe down, there is Split Cue
@@BlueHawk80ah good 👍 very useful for mixing without any monitors.
Can u doo backspins on it?
Same thing i want to know
Yes, it has touch-sensitive jogwheels like most controllers nowadays.
Good points, but I still prefer the professional inputs, outputs and build of the prime go for true pro use
Nice, but ill stick to my sc4 live and portable power supply 😊
Anyone know how to skip all the way to the start of a track without a cue point set on the prime go?
I've asked them ever since they started this line of products to simply add the standard shift + cue to allow that to happen, but they won't, so you have to use the screen, unfortunately.
Engine as it was known from the start was a bit awkward and flawed, but as it has grown to engine DJ as it is known now as one of the best if not the best stabdalone operating systems in the world today. Thats my opinion angway.
Yes, it has certainly improved an awful lot since they first launched it and they continuing to improve it quite quickly
Nice skins 👌🏽
I wish I was able to see how loud the track is.
Yes, while it might not be worth upgrading existing owners will be pleased to see that the line continues
They need to add mic to headphones setting
What’s the over under on motherboard failures on this generation of Denon Hardware I wonder
How much$$$?
1k.
Looks like a great unit but not really worth it if you have the OG (which I do).
Oh no, definitely not - there's very little change.
That's why they've called it the Prime Go+ and not the Prime Go 2.
Black text on grey 🤦♀? Looks like the usability of the old design was better with white on black. Once you know the device of course you'll remember what is where.
Fair point, but as you say, it's pretty simple to understand the unit.
But the real question - Does it have motorized platters? Lol.
Bit of a red herring, that question, isn't it?
@@digitaldjtips -- Just pulling your leg, sir...
Little jogwheels lawd
It's in my basket. Trying resist hitting Checkout!.......
You know you won't be able to think about anything else until you take it out of your basket or buy it.
I do think that sometimes features are expected when none is really necessary
To me the idea is great but the layout is a disaster. if they will fix it and do the layout close to the normal dj setup ill get one hands down
That would make it bigger, and that’s part of its charm, you get used to it
removed port was so unnecessary…. sighs
Yeah, we miss it
@@digitaldjtips I mean, for streaming we have some security thanks to pre-buffering. But for Ableton Link with Akai units… ough… anyway, once again, thanks Mr. Phil! 👍
“it’s still unique…” ?????!!? What is the Omnis Duo then?
Actually, a good point, but the fact that I'd temporarily forgotten about that shows what a copy of the Prime Go that one really was.
Pretty sure you can opt for channel levels in the software, although not checked.
@@digitaldjtips you can, it came with one 3.x update
Those meters are still too small. 7 segments is what I regard as minimum for proper leveling
Five years on and they couldn't put channel volume meters.... even in software.... again 😬
nope, that has been available for months via an update.
100% its the only thing missing!!!
@@GingerBoy1974 it’s not missing
$1000 USD
It's not worth the upgrade from the Prime Go.
Oh no, definitely not - that's why they just called it a Plus. It's the same controller with a couple of small changes. What they have done, though, is show faith in it and show that it's not going to be out of date anytime soon, which of course is great for all owners of the old one.
No tilt screen ughhh… pass!
This can control lighting and the new fake Pioneer controlller can't. I'm sorry that's embarrassing 😳
Controlling lighting is hardly a core feature of DJ controllers
I really don’t like the color scheme… looks like 90s HiFi Equipment
We quite like it, but fashion's changed. Will we still like it in a few years? Who knows?
I do NOT like Engine DJ
Care to share why not?
@@digitaldjtips To me - not a Serato or Recordbox user, it is confusing. I've tried to find RUclips videos that explain everything. I have ask digitaldjtips for an Engine DJ course and have been told "it's coming". After a year of nothing and struggling, I sold my Denon Prime Go and stuck with the Denon MC4000.
@@digitaldjtips Not being a Serato or Rekordbox user, I find Engine DJ confusing. I've tried searching RUclips videos for help as well as asked DigitalDJtips for a course specifically in Engine DJ. After a year of not finding anything helpful or getting a response, I sold my Prime Go. I've stuck with my Denon MC4000 and Virtual DJ.
funny how nobody crying that denon is not listening to the consumer.
@@digitaldjtips I’ve come to the conclusion that many aren’t doing it for that reason unfortunately. More interested in gear than actually using it
@@digitaldjtipsagree with you.
Check out some of Denons sister company that make Numark you will see the same trend continues with the Mixstream Pro and the Mixstream Pro +
Once you hear the word plus it says that its not a new board just a refresh.
The color scheme is ugly
Gun metal silver/grey seems neutral
doesn't seem like they changed much.. and ya more gear need the screens to pop up or come at an angle..
