I love how the GPS pops in and out when you turn the engine on and off
I got my CDL in a Freightliner Century and its a great truck. I've never played this game, but it looks pretty realistic. One thing missing from this game is the rattle the truck makes when the truck rolls over any bumps. The real ones don't ride so smooth, and you feel every little bump. The real trucks don't stop so soon, but a fully loaded truck will stop quicker than an empty truck.
growing up in a semi family is awsome and I thank you for being a professional at it. love this series and cannot wait for the Kenworth truck to be utilized. this is the trucks that I remember washing and cleaning when dad came in for a few days. It was a T800 I think, also an "anteater nose"
Squirrel did a tutorial on parking at a similar drop off just the other day. Really interesting to see the different ways people approach the parking space.
This is my first American Truck Simulator episode! I hope it is as good as your other videos!

I own a century class S/T been running it for 7yrs. Now and never had any issues good truck
Most Walmart stores that I have backed up into in the real world require you to slide your tandems all the way back before backing up into the dock which makes it that much more challenging because the trailer responds slower.

No, Elijah Wiggins I don't I'm an owner operator. Primarily I do flatbed but in the past done dry van and reefer loads for Walmart.

Jeff, about the trailer weight mod. does this give you a sense of heavy weight pulling on the back end accurately? because over the years,SCS made trailers incredibly light to pull despite the heave weight on the trailer.
Just wait until you see the next release of MHApro map. He's got all parking lots full of cars, weigh station full of trucks pull around back with dot checking them out.. Truck stops full of trucks parking for the night, and all parking spot terrible hard. The way I deal with the onramps and off ramps , if just drive on the shoulder till I get my speed up. Don't let that white paint stop you, if cars is parked there, I just go around them. The next update for the map will be out soon and it's great. Nice video man.

Jake brakes were designed for mountains to save heating brake pads up. I don't use them, they become a crutch and become annoying. I drove for years w/o their use, everybody wants to make the game more difficult in certain ways , like bigger loads and so on, I always like using my trailer brakes and saving my money on brake repairs and using up the brakes on trailers I don't own. All in all, Jake's use can become overkill.

Not sure if it's a RUclips issue or a video issue but the entire video is very dark. Even with my screen brightness up your recent vids are very dim
hey jeff. just a small comment on you break sensitivity. based off of several things your breaks not stopping you are about accurate to real life as it comes and gets. judging off your speed,you are loaded and you have a down hill incline all of that is a perfect mix to have a 4 wheeler cut you off on a on ramp and you rear end them. turn the breaks up bud but i just want all viewers to realize that in the real world they can't stop. id say that b ramp was 95% accurate to real life. on down hill ramps in a loaded truck 30 to 35 mph exit speed and you are still stepping on the breaks hard cause that was a short off ramp..just that tid bit. good choice of color. you see my name but my friends and my cb handle is red. .take care good buddy

Hey do any of you guys know which one of those mods Jeff listed is the one with the heavy trailers? I installed a bunch of them and the trailers were so heavy it pulled me back downhill
The on-ramp are actually realistic, there are a lot like those in Mississippi and have to yield for traffic

I'm really happy scs software finally did an American truck simulator cause I like euro truck simulator 2 but I suck when you have to remember to switch sides of the road when you change areas in the game and I'm more familiar with American roads and us rules of the roads.

One of the better parts about these early noughties freightliners is that they all have the same interior so you can pick the type and style of truck you want (you like the Century, I like the Argosy) you get the performance and type of driving you prefer, and there's none of that "well i like this truck but I wish it had the interior from the other one"
Which is great unless you don't like the one fake-ass wood trim freightliner offered for interiors *sigh*

My taste is more with a combination of high quality fake leather (lasts forever) and the kind of plastic that doesn't make a hideous noise when you scratch it. Most European trucks essentially. They do their interiors well whatever you have to say about the way they look outside
Oh yeah and fake woodgrain is plastic, often bad plastic haha
I have to wonder how they simulated the trailer brakes in this. I tried it once just for giggles, and if you did that on the actual truck, truck won't move. I certainly didn't want to push the truck any harder and risk jackknifing.
+Captain Kevin I have seen many guys bind the trailer brakes up and pivot off of them in the real world. Probably depends on the brake system and equipment.
Possibly. I guess the angle you're at may or may not play into it as WEL. I certainly didn't want to risk breaking anything, that much I know.

I've been playing ats since it came out now and one thing I haven't figured out is out there logs in the game that you can pull I've seen them on the road but never seen the option to pull them

Pull up to the scale and press enter. Sometimes it will ask you to pull in other times it will let you stay on the highway.

Seems strange to turn off lights "lets kill the lights off, don't need those on anymoref". Law in Canada to have lights on at all times, all vehicles are equipped with DRL (Daylight running lights), trucks included which is just forward facing lights, not tail lights during day.
Looks dumb with bright lights on when it's 70 degrees and sunny. If it's cloudy or rainy that's another story, otherwise looks really lame. Kind of like doing 55 in a 60, blocking the middle lane. Which is something the Canadian truckers seem to like to do when they drive down here.
I usually turn my headlights off if I don't need them. Of course, our company trucks have daytime running lights.
Carman Decelles some states require lights on all the time and others require in poor weather conditions or an hour before dusk and an hour after dawn. However most newer cars have auto lights that are on all the time. Where I am it's not law however 99.99% of people always have their lights on.
@Jeff Favignana how can you drive whit low and high gear? I have a Logitech shifter for G920 but can't get it to work. BTW your the king.. Love your videos. Keep up the good work sir!
Select h shifter then go down and select advanced shifter options, select eaton fuller, now you can split gears in high and low

Those on ramps are in the "real world". The road in the north east are more like that, all you have to do is find a hole and have your 4 ways on.
+geicomatt no one denies they aren't in the real world, they just aren't this common and every on ramp except for two in this game are like that.
And for the weigh stations they could add a yellow sign like they do in real life and have the flashing yellow lights when you have to enter? That would be a good idea.

That depends on what you consider good pay. How much do you expect to make.
I'm just talking about in the future because I am still just a teenager.
Understand, but good pay is relative. If you're expecting to make $100,000 a year, I can tell you right now that's not going to happen. There are trucking companies that advertise that you can make over $100,000 a year if you lease the truck. Whilst that is true, most people don't consider that that is just gross pay. Once you start leasing or even owning the truck, you have to factor in insurance, maintenance, fuel, tolls, tax, truck payment....suddenly, you won't be making any more than a company driver, so stuff like that you have to watch out for.
Ah I got it now. Its just something to think about on the future.
Sure. You've got plenty of time. You're not going to be able to do interstate until you're 21 anyhow. You can get your CDL at 18, but you'd only be able to do intrastate with that.

AT 12:50 you killed your head light because it was daylight. Why not keep them on, you would be more visible. Up North (Canada) all Vehicles must have daily driving light I.E. LOW BEAM on at all time. In fact it's built in to our vehicles and Yes we can be seen by oncoming drivers.

Unfortunately this truck no longer works with version 1.2. whenever I go to select it in the garage menu it crashes my game.
