The drive up to Hornbrook is beautiful. The fact that it's right on the border of my home state is great, I can't wait to be hauling things through Oregon
When that truck cut you off in the beginning, it reminded me when a truck did that to you in a Rig n' Roll episode and you just went flying off the road XD

It's crazy how accurate the city modeling is. I basically knew where I was in Stockton.
You've just experienced all of my pet peeves with this game in one shot. Short yellows(no mods), AI horrible lane changes(even the back and forth, especially at higher speeds), insta speed limit changes and the non existent merge lanes in most of the map. Even with all those the game is a great experience. Take care Jeff, and have a good week.

I haevent been a big fan of the ATS series but now i watched like 10 episodes in a row.
thanks for that tip at 2:16 about the DirectX mode!!! I think that is what I need to do to "get a better performance".

Jeff, I recommend downloading Klaas's Real Gas prices mod. It may only drop the price by 50 cents per gallon, but it could be a money saver in the long run.
They have the hood ones and the bad ones. Keep up the great work jeff
not sure if anyone else said it but Hornbrook actually was one of the original cities only other possible drop off it has is the construction site just a little bit up the road from that gas station

Dang, you were in extreme Northern California on this one Jeff. Hornbrook is in extreme Northern California near the Oregon state line. Nice to see that you made it to a census designated place with 248 residents, as of 2010 and a density of 210 square miles. Hopefully, when they release Oregon as a DLC, you'll get to see some amazing cities like, Portland, Eugene, Salem, and my personal favorite, Klamath Falls. Trust me, Oregon is just a nice slice of what is the Pacific Northwest. Washington on the other paw is an awe inspiring state all on its own merit. As someone who has drove, and taken Amtrak from Los Angeles to the Pacific Northwest, you will be in awe at the sheer beauty of it. Just be warned, it rains a lot up there, and hopefully SCS will take that into account when they release Washington, and Oregon. Great episode, by the way.

Geez, Hornbrook is way different now, actually connected to the 5 with a single road and a Bituman up there, and construction behind that...and no gas station. I haven't explored it with the Oregon addition yet, but that's all it is when you are there without Oregon. (At least there's a rest stop. LOL)
Hey Jeff. Regarding turning left around 6:30 aren't you supposed to "establish" yourself in the intersection? Then when the light turns red, you are free to go when it's safe. That how it is here anyways...
Jeff, i'm pretty sure the longer trains mod causes the no engine on the train issue. Just a heads up. But you may have figured it out already. Haha. I had the same issue.
+East Tennessee Dashcam what it seemed to do for me was, magic freight cars, then a gap, then a long train this time, with an engine, then another gap before some more magic freight cars.

Why is the speed limit 55 mph going north from Redding to Hornbrook on I-5, but is 35 mph when you go south (opposite direction) on same stretch of highway?
I think you were trying to think of Diesel Exhaust Fluid? If you were, I dont know about semis but DEF wasn't required for pickups until after about 2008 or 2009 I think. So if it's the same for semis then unless your truck is later than 2008 I don't think it's DEF
21:30 DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) is the word you were looking for!

LOL! what if you ran out of fuel while you're hauling fuel to the station? just pipe it directly from the tank! and that green bar on the fuel gauge is the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) that newer trucks are required to have. the older trucks were built before DEF became a thing and don't use it.

wow thats pretty accurate, Jeff got almost 6 mpg on that run. that's about right for a freightliner. I don't know if the trucks like that or the game is though

weigh scales are to make sure your not over weight on your axles the weigh scales at the fuel stops are used to make sure you know your not overweight so you can adjust things if you are it keeps you from getting tickets at the weigh stations.. they do this for safety reasons and to reduce road damage.
+Natsumi Yuki we all understand what they are and why they are there. We are talking about them being implemented in the game the way they are.
Jeff the Cat Scales IRL weigh your truck and then tell you the weight. You pay a couple dollars (around my area) for it to weigh you, and then if it tells you that you weigh one thing and the state scales say another (that you are over) Cat (the company) will pay the fine if you still have the recipt.

One thing I don't like about the scales in this game is in real life (or at least in California) you don't ever come to a complete stop, you just slow down to about 5-10 mph and role through the scales and if they don't signal you to stop or pull in for inspection you just get back on the highway.

Is there anyone that can help me out? I have a ATS on mac and I'm having trouble with mods working. HELP please.
I've noticed all of the European scenic details in ATS, but I wonder too, if the speeding enforcement might be closer to what its like in say, the Czech Republic, than California? Police here are usually a lot more lenient about excessive speed than this game is showing.
