  • You must install a pair of RAM within your computer so that the two pairs are similar in speed and manufacturing method within the slots designated for them, which must be of the same color exclusively, and then if you want to install another pair of RAM, you will have to use the slots designated for that of the other color. This method will ensure better performance of your computer because of the possibility of accessing memory better and at the same time.
Thus, you will have to avoid installing any pair of memories that are not the same in terms of color, and if you happen to have two different types of random memories in your computer and not identical pairs, you will have to install one of them in yellow, for example, and the other in red (according to the colors available on the motherboard You have). Why can mixing Brands become an Issue?
Each manufacturer develops its RAM sticks differently. They use different memory controllers, different dies, different materials, PCBs, and different custom circuits.
These are all variables that may ultimately prove to be benign, but there are cases where a conflict in these customizations will cause stuttering, crashes, or even a failure to boot the system entirely.

Hey bro. Sorry i was at work.
Well I will answer you away from the Google articles and what the techs say. I have been working in computer repair since 2008. Each motherboard has a specific RAM capacity.
1-If the capacity of the RAM is greater than the capacity of the motherboard, the problem of the black screen will appear.
      2-If the RAM is damaged.
3-If the ram needs more volts, but for some reason, it does not get that energy from all the boards.
4-If the RAM cannot dump all the information when removing from one computer to another computer (in this case you will find that the ram works with a computer that is similar to the other computer, but it does not work with any other board)
      Other opinions are welcome

This happened to me after cleaning my laptop. The power on light was on but my screen just pitch black, no sign it was turning on, and my fan didnt turn. I thought it wont start coz i thought i forgot to plug in the cpu fan. To my suprise my fan was already plugged in, so i tried interchanging my laptop rams both 8GB clocked at 2400mhz, the RAM i placed in 1st slot i placed it on second slot and the other ram which i placed on the second slot i removed and placed in on first slot. After that, it powered on like nothing happened.

my laptop is asus and im using kingston ddr4 ram 8gb 2400 and suddenly bsod, freeze then the display wont showing up
if i insert the ram it just black screen but the fan is on and the battery indicator blink white but if i unplugged the ram its fine
ive been using this ram about 1 year
so is it the ram broken or its just need to be clean up?

    • @linuxsyr
      @linuxsyr  3 года назад

Hello kenndy ! RAM wears out over time. If your laptop frequently freezes, reboots, or brings up a BSOD , bad RAM just might be the problem. Corrupt files can be another sign of bad RAM, especially when the corruption is found in files that you've used recently.
Only you can tell if the RAM is broken (have you use it for a long time? Have you tried it with another computer?)
If yr ram is dead and you just want to make it work agen for 2 month, follow this steps:

Step 1: Preheat Your Oven. Preheat your oven to 150 degrees fahrenheit.
      • Step 2: Preparing the RAM for Baking. Wrap the ram tightly in tin foil.
      • Step 3: Bake the RAM. (4min)
      • Step 4: take it out and Let the RAM cool (5min)
      • Step 5: Unwrap the RAM.
      • Step 6: Insert the RAM back into the machine.
(I am not responsible for any error that occurs during the heating process and I do not advise you to do so. Ram only costs $10) please tell me if you find somethung.

so maybe this is just another same question but i really want to try asking this,
so my laptop is thinkbook 14s yoga ITL, core i5 gen 11, soldered RAM is 8Gb DDR4, 3200 Mhz.
then there is one slot to upgrade, so i bought corsair vengeance, with same size and freq, and voila, black screen, there's no progress when i turn it on.
i also tested it on another thinkbook laptops, with same spec ram compatibility with core i3 gen 11, and same thing happened. black screen.
but, when i use it to hp pavilion gaming 15 with core i5 gen 10, it DOES WORK.
so i think the RAM itself is fine, it just my laptop that doesn't supported it.
    so the question is:
    1. next time what should i do when i want to buy a RAM? because seller is just telling us the DDR, frequency, or maybe CL, and size, there is no other explanation whether this ram is really compatible with mine.
    2. does intel generation version will affecting the RAM compatibility?
    3. is there a way to modifying the BIOS to accept the RAM? because i already updating it, but it still wont work.
    4. is overclocked specialist RAM will need more volts?
pardon my grammar, and thank you so much if you would answer my questions 🙏🙏

Regarding the black screen, you can try the following:
Try switching the ram places on the motherboard.
After Win Logo wait 10 min.
Pressthe CapsLock or NumLock key and check whether the status light for the key turns on.

If you’re in tablet mode, press the volume-up and volume-down buttons simultaneously three times within two seconds. If Windows is responsive, you’ll hear a short beep and the screen will blink or dim while Windows attempts to refresh the screen.
      • When you're using a desktop PC, select Ctrl + Alt + Delete, select an account, and sign in. If you can’t sign in, select Start > Power > Restart on the screen. If you don’t see Start on your screen, press and hold the power button on your PC for 10 seconds to turn it off. Then press and release the power button to turn your PC back on.

This is due to the difference in voltage consumption of the two pieces of RAM. The computer works fine if the manufacturer of the two RAM is the same. In fact, I rule out that one of the two RAM pieces is damaged, but I am sure that the speeds of the two pieces are different, and you must adjust the frequency and speed from the UEFI. Y shuold search in google for how to get into uefi and make the speed of the two rams equal. If your laptop is old, it probably does not have uefi and it has BIOS, and in this case it is difficult to get the RAM settings. Do not hesitate to go to a computer store and get a consultation

The way I understood it, SDRAM Density refers to the amount of memory stacked on one side of a RAM stick.

      Hello
This happened to me once in this video:
      2:22
      ruclips.net/video/axR7L4QIqzA/видео.html
You can uninstall the BIOS update (use google search). First of all try first to empty the battery "remove it and then put it back in." Remove the RAM and re-install it. Remove and replace the battery. Try to turn on the computer
If this does not work, you can follow this example to solve the ptoblem

      I found out something:
      Your battery type is : 3-cell, 41 Wh Li-Ion
      each 8GB RAM DDR4 stick needs 3 watts : 2 x 3 = 6
YOUR motherboard needs : 12-25 watts to launch
processor AMD Ryzen needs : 15W
      6 + 25 (in the most extreme case) + 15 = 46 watt
and that's why your computer has BSOD problem.
actually your computer should be made with a higher battery power or was made with 2 stick ram with less volt, MHz

This is a known problem with Asus. The problem is that while the ac adapter is connected, the battery feeds the motherboard with a slightly stronger current, unfortunately, and this leads to the failure of the computer to start because the new RAM is not able to withstand the amount of new voltages, and therefore your computer works without problems while removing the charging device. Enter the bios uefi (link attached) and reduce the speed rate and all available options to reduce the consumption of the new RAM .

So its been there ages ago.. The 8GB have 1.2 voltage and have the same speed of the main board RAM 2400mhz. I'm not aware of the main board 4GB RAM voltage..
Do you have solution for me for this problem? Or if I reduce the speed rate and comsumption will it decrease the performance? Thank you so much for the answer!

    • @linuxsyr

@@JusticiaSN Your original 4 gb ram details (as i found ):
      memory clock speed 2666MHz
      memory chip DDR4-2666
It is better to prepare the new RAM to work at this speed.
This does not affect performance at all, but you should know that using two pieces of RAM with the same speed and capacity is much better than using two pieces of different size because it does not transfer data quickly.
