the little red switch is the chains and the big red switch is the noise surpluse when that is turned on it shuts off the am/fm radio the switch is commonly used at rail-road crossings i belive the radio is the only thing it shuts off but if there would be anything else it might be the heat and ac

It's a noise suppressor. It cuts power to anything that makes noise (Heaters, the radio, the fans in the front, A/C units [if equipped], etc.). It's good to use for railroad crossings because you can turn all of those things off with one switch instead of having to turn off each item individually.
